"Today One I Will Remember"
Layout
with Amy Voorthuis

 Goodmorning lovely 2Crafty friends,
I am so happy you stopped by the blog, today I made another layout to show you and again it's with a baby picture love doing layout's with cute babies lately. This baby is the son of my ex co-worker who became a first time mom in 2024. I have used some new and older chipboard pieces that combined perfectly with some prima paper & flowers.

Today One I Will Remember:

Most of the chipboard pieces are altered with some white gesso but I also left some of them just in their raw state, sometimes it just fits better that way. The white chipboard pieces on my layout are made white with some acrylic matte paint.

On the vintage steampunk clock clusters I added some different color waxes. The other chipboard pieces are coloured with my aqua/alcohol markers in a chocolate color & the dainty foilage stems in a dark green sage color and to finish them I added some of my waxes.

Hope you all enjoyed my post thank you so much for stopping by, I will be back with another project soon hope to see you back then....

Meanwhile if you would like to see more of my work you could visit here:

Good Times - Laura Gilhuly

Hi! Laura here to share my next creation with you!

I love texture so I had a lot of fun creating this layout of our boys years ago when we and our friends made a demolition derby car!

2Crafty chipboard used:

After covering the paper with clear gesso I added some texture paste (dyed with Lindy's hot poker orange magicals) then used finnabair wax and rubbed on the stenciled surface to highlight it.

To alter the awesome chipboard I covered each piece with white gesso then added heavy texture paste and heat set.  I started spraying with different mists and used the wax to highlight.

For the title piece I used gesso, then texture paste, then coloured it with
an orange Gelato art crayon.

Thanks so much for stopping by

'Memories'
with Lisa Amiet

Hello 2Crafty fans!
It's Lisa here today to share some
 floral steampunk inspiration with you.

2Crafty products used:

For this layout, I have used a die-cut gear cluster cut from black cardstock.
I have then used some of the gears from the 'Giant Gears & Cogs',
which I have painted black, and adhered onto the back of the cluster.

I have then layered gears from the 'Steampunk Gears Medium' and 'Gears',
all painted with black gesso and adhered to the front of some of the gears in the cluster.

I then used a metallic wax to rub on the cluster, highlighting the gears and some parts of the die-cut.
By adhering the gears to the die-cut, I am able to build up dimension and texture to the cluster.

I have also used one of the 'Fine Word Set 3' as my title,
which I have painted white and adhered,
layering over my bottom gear cluster.

To finish I have used one of the 'Geotags', which I have also given the same metallic wax finish.
The wax finish highlights the chipboard pieces really nicely, and
I really like the mix of steampunk gears and pretty florals.

Until next time!

Lisa x

Mixed media cards with Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

This month, for my second project, I have 2 cards to share.
They are non-standard cards approx. 6"x6" requested in this size in order to write a letter inside instead of a message.

I started by cutting out some circles from Cocoa Vanilla pattern paper and coated them with white gesso. While that was drying, I coated all the 2crafty chipboard pieces with white gesso as well - a few gears from Steampunk Small & Medium, a small panel cut off from the Square Collage Panel and one piece from the Vintage Hot Air Balloon Set. I did NOT apply any gesso on the tile 2crafty chipboard piece 'You make me Happy'

To get an even coat of colour on the chipboard pieces, Ive directly applied stamp pads on the chipboard pieces.

Here is the second card. The colour palette was directly based on the pattern paper.

Can you see how the Hot Air Balloon has a bright orange whereas the 'You make me happy' chipboard in the previous card looks darker and more vintage looking. That's because I didn't apply any gesso on the 'You make me happy' chipboard piece. Gesso makes colour look brighter on chipboard.

Thank you for visiting us today.
Wishing you all a very happy & creative week ahead.
Hugs,
Kripa

August - Vintage Mixed Media Layout and Video with Kripa

Hello friends,

'You are not old, your Vintage'

This month, my scrapbook layout is inspired by the moodboard at
I wanted to add a lot symbolism in my layout and 2crafty chipboard had so many pieces that were a perfect fit. With plenty of options, finally here is what was chosen - one Moroccan Swirl, handful of Steampunk gears Small & medium, a frame each from the 6" Circle revolution frames & Cog Nested Frames and the negative of the Leafy Twig Branches.

I find it hard to get rid of the negative of the chipboard once the pieces have been used and try to incorporate them in the layers behind the photograph. But, in this layout, I used the negative of the Leafy Twig Branches as a stencil to paint leaves while making the background. Most of it got covered up, but there are still some visible in the left side of the layout.

All the chipboard pieces were coated with white gesso and then painted on with teal or rust brown colour spray. The flowers on the Moroccan Swirls were left with just white gesso. One swirl has been cut in half and each half tucked on top right and bottom left part of the photograph.

I hope you enjoy the video tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy creating,
Kripa

Art Journal page & Video Tutorial with Kripa

Hello friends,

My project this month is an art journal page inspired by the moodboard at Mixed Media Place. Further down this post, there is link to a video tutorial of how the page came together.

Ive used several 2crafty chipboard pieces on my page: Checkerboard Clumps and Square Collage Panel to build layers and gears small & medium to embellish. As always, my first step was to gesso all the chipboard pieces. Can you see impressions of the square collage piece on the background? They were made by pressing down the chipboard while the gesso was still wet.

To match the pattern of the Checkerboard Clumps & gears, I've used similar pattern stamps on the background. The gears were coloured with sprays or inked with a stamp pad.

I hope you enjoy watching the tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Until next time, happy crafting,
Kripa

March Inspiration with Kripa Koushik

'Smile'

My first share this month is a canvas which now sits on my son's desk.
I love how easy it is to create texture and interest just by layering chipboard pieces.

To begin, I collaged some papers on the canvas and added texture paste and paints.
On top of this I've built layers of chipboard on top of each other and tucked under
 the layers behind the photograph.

All the chipboard pieces were coated with white gesso. Then, except the
checkerboard clumps, the rest of the pieces were painted on using
Colourarte Acrylic Silks. Some checkerboard clumps were left plain,
the rest were painted on with a brush loaded with Twinkling H2Os (watercolour).

* Gears Medium

* Steampunk gears tiny

 'Love these kids'

The next project is a 12 x 12 scrapbook layout of my kids with something
out of my comfort zone - a lot of visible journalling..

In order to have lots of space for journalling, I centred the photograph and extended
the layout horizontally using the pretty Squiggly Hearts Cluster. Under the
Squiggly Heart Cluster on either side is a Film Strip - Tiny. Ive cut to
Sequins negative bits in two and tucked it around the photograph.

I wanted the {heart}in the title - I just {heart} these kids next to the photograph,
so I cut it in two and layered them one below the other. All the chipboard pieces have
been altered the same way - first a layer of white gesso and then painted on with
Colourarte Vivid Ultra Metallics using a make up sponge.
