'Cherish' with Lisa Amiet

 

Hello 2Crafty fans!
It's Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you.

'Cherish'

 

 

2Crafty products used:

 

 

'Feather Outline Set' 

'Foliage Set 13' 

'Mini Lattice Bits'

'Mini Decorative Frame Set 2' 

 

 

 For this layout, I used some of the 'Mini Lattice Bits',

that I heat embossed in white, 
and tucked in among my paper layers. 

 

 

 I also used a few of the 'Foliage Set 13',

also embossed in white,

in among my flower clusters.  

 

 

 I also used one of the 'Mini Decorative Frame Set 2',

 which I have first sponged with white gesso 
to give a good base for my colour.

I then used yellow and green watercolour paints,
 to give it a two-toned watercolour finish, 
and tucked in among my layers. 

 

I used the same finish for

one of the feathers from the 'Feather Outline Set',

which I then tucked into one of my flower clusters. 

 

 I hope that you like what I created, 
I love the soft yellow pop on this layout.

featuring some fabulous 2 Crafty chipboard pieces...

Let's start with these super cool pieces from the Celtic square asst Set 1

I love this set & knew I wanted to use a couple of these on this layout..

I just wasn't sure what color to ink them, 

so I ended up inking 1 with 3 colors - Navy blue, pink & teal...

And the other with -  yellow & a dusty pink...

I'm obessed with how they have turned out....

Next I have added a few of the Tiny ATC stars from the ATC - Tiny hearts & stars

where I have given these a coat of gesso..

Lastly for my title..

Using this 'Amazing just the way you are' from the 6x4 pharse stick set 3

inking this with the Dusty Pink and then adding the yr 2018, Inking this with teal...

Memories Bloom in Every Snapshot by Tania Ridgwell

Tania joining you today to share the second of my DT projects for March. 
  I have created a layout for my second share.

I have used the beautiful 49 & Market 'Cottage Life' Collection to create the base for my Layout.

I first painted all the chippie pieces with a couple of coats of gesso.
  I then mixed some Laidback Lilac Dylusions with more gesso to tone down the
 colour and then painted all the chippies pieces again.  

From the 49 & Market Dragonfly Revolution Layered Die Cut Embellishments I used the round Leaf Wreath to frame my photo.  Once I was happy with the placement of these I added the Photo Adornment - Flourish chippies.  I then embellished around my photo with lots of paper blooms and then tucked in the Happy Daisy chippies. 
 To finish off my page I added a 2025 chippie and the Memories Bloom in Every Snapshot Title chippie.

"adventure" Layout by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

I’m happy to be back today to share my second layout for March.

This month I chose to create two layouts in different styles, while keeping the same travel theme.

This page features a photo of my son and daughter-in-law taken during their honeymoon trip to the United States in December 2024, while visiting the beautiful Antelope Canyon in Arizona. The warm tones of the canyon naturally inspired the soft desert color palette used throughout the layout.

As usual, I started by applying a layer of white gesso to my background to soften the paper and prepare the surface for inks and mixed media. To highlight the photo, I used the Steampunk Chain Rectangle Frame, which creates a beautiful focal point while adding an industrial touch to the composition. I colored the chipboard with Distress Oxide inks, mainly Stormy Sky and Vintage Photo, with a light touch of Gathered Twigs around the frame, even though it remains very soft and subtle. 

For the title, I chose words from the Mini Word Set 2. The words Adventure and Travel naturally reinforce the travel theme while blending softly into the layout. I colored them using the same inks to keep a harmonious look.

On the right side of the layout, I created a vertical composition using gears from the Steampunk Gears Medium and Steampunk Gears Small sets. Layering these gears adds dimension and movement while enhancing the mechanical feel of the page. On the Steampunk Gears Medium, after coloring them with Distress Oxide inks, I added a few patterns using rub-on transfers, gently rubbing them onto the chipboard to bring extra texture and detail.

To finish the layout, I added a small desert-inspired cluster with cactus elements along with a few subtle splatters to connect the different elements and add texture to the background.

Chipboards are essential elements in my layouts. They add dimension, help structure the composition and make it easy to bring extra details that draw the eye.

 Hi everyone, so glad you could join me today.

I have a layout to share with you that screams Springtime to me. And I am more than ready for some warm weather!

 When I looked at this photo, I was a little stumped as to which colors I was going to use. Her top is pink and orange. I usually like to play off the color in the clothes, if I can, for my choices. But in my mind these colors don't really go together. So I thought about just using pink, or using just orange, but that didn't really do it for me. So I decided, against my better judgement, to combine the colors. Much to my surprise, they really DO go together!! I guess people who design fabric know what they're doing!

I first coated all the chipboard with White Gesso before grabbing the paint.

I guess you could say that the thing that catches your eye on this layout is the Heart Lattice Panel at the top and bottom of the layout. I think it anchors the composition. 

The lattice part was painted with Parisian Gray Chalk Paint. The hearts were painted with a mix of Cadmium Orange, Yellow Ochre, and Naples Yellow Red Acrylic Paint. I then lightened up the whole mixture with a little White Adirondack Chalk Paint. 

I snuck in one of my favorite little fillers, a stem from the Foliage Set 15. I LOVE these little gems! They add just the right amount of texture and interest. I love that you can go bold with them, or subtle, depending of the effect you want to achieve. 

I placed another stem from the Foliage Set 15 here at the upper right of the photo just to even out the design. I try to create balance, I think it's easier on the eye. 

I painted both of them with White Gesso, then just painted the stems with Spanish Moss Chalk Paint. I didn't paint the little bulbs, just left them with the White gesso, which really isn't white at all, more of a gray.

The title, you, was painted with the color 'Crimson' from the Prima Pastel Dreams Water Color Set. I wet my brush, dry it almost all the way off, then apply a LOT of coats of paint LOTS of times to get a nice full deep color.

And then lastly, here at the bottom of the layout is more of the Heart Lattice Panel to complete the layout.

I hope you like this and that I have inspired you to try using colors that you normally wouldn't use. I like to use a color wheel sometimes, but your best bet is to go off the colors in your photos.

Hello there, Di Garling here with you on the blog today
with another layout I have created using some fabulous pieces of my favourite
2Crafty chipboard.

I have based this layout loosley on a layout I did for 2Crafty last year.
I had so many people reach out to me & ask me to do it as a kit so 
I thought I would change it up a bit from my last one but make it
"SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT" as the saying goes!!
I hope you like this version as much !!!

I love this title I have used on my page. I have given it two coats

of white acrylic paint to make it "pop" in amongst all the layers etc.

Once dry I gave the white acrylic paint a light inking with some brown ink.

I also used one of the "Frame Chain Circles" to frame my photos.

This was also given two coats of white acrylic paint.

Lastly I have used one of the chipboard "Mandalas" which after

 base coating with white gesso, I then gave it a rough wash of

watered down acrylic paint. Too easy!! I then cut it in half & added a

 piece to the top of the layout & the other half I poked in on the left side.

 Lastly I have added some of the "Mini Flourish Bits" to my flower clusters 
on my layout too to compliment it. One on the right side of the page,
one right up in the top left  corner & one right down in the bottom right corner,

These were all just given a wash of watered down acrylic paint.

Storytelling By Charmane Sharp

Storytelling is a layout that showcases the unique architecture you get to

enjoy when travelling. This building has probably had many uses over the

 years and has so many amazing stories to tell on the streets of Athens.

I pulled out my Distress Oxides for there softness to transform the chipboard

 pieces into their own old architecture style. Cassie's Flourish brings out the detail

 on the balcony and has a European flair for this layout. The Mini Title Stick was

the basis for building my layout with its perfect word 'Storytelling'. Adding a

 couple of metal embellishments on each end gives it focus.

Applying Oxides with a paint brush is so easy after Gesso and spritzing

with water to bring out the oxidisation is the perfect finish shown on the

Mini Decorative Frame that I have raised with foam tape.

Cutting the Circle Accent in half gives me another piece for a future project.

No point wasting it if I'm tucking it under the side of my fussy cut piece.

I couldn't have pulled out two more amazing pieces from my stash than these

Fancy Borders that just seem to frame my layout beautifully and have their

own architectural design pulling everything together.

The Mini Title Stick was the basis for building my layout with its perfect

 word 'Storytelling'. Adding a couple of metal embellishments on each

 end gives it focus.

By choosing pastel shades with neutral tones also, the Distress Oxides

really add the right finish to the 2Crafty Chipboard that I was after. I hope

you have enjoyed taking a look at this layout.
