March Inspiration with Kripa Koushik

'Smile'

 My first share this month is a canvas which now sits on my son's desk.
I love how easy it is to create texture and interest just by layering chipboard pieces.

 To begin, I collaged some papers on the canvas and added texture paste and paints.
 On top of this I've built layers of chipboard on top of each other and tucked under
 the layers behind the photograph.

All the chipboard pieces were coated with white gesso. Then, except the
checkerboard clumps, the rest of the pieces were painted on using
Colourarte Acrylic Silks. Some checkerboard clumps were left plain,
 the rest were painted on with a brush loaded with Twinkling H2Os (watercolour).

 2crafty chipboard used:
* Summertime
 * Filmstrip Tiny
* Gears Medium
* Checkerboard clumps
* Steampunk gears tiny
* Steampunk gears small

 'Love these kids'

The next project is a 12 x 12 scrapbook layout of my kids with something
 out of my comfort zone - a lot of visible journalling..

In order to have lots of space for journalling, I centred the photograph and extended
 the layout horizontally using the pretty Squiggly Hearts Cluster. Under the
Squiggly Heart Cluster on either side is a Film Strip - Tiny. Ive cut to
Sequins negative bits in two and tucked it around the photograph.

 I wanted the {heart}in the title - I just {heart} these kids next to the photograph,
so I cut it in two and layered them one below the other. All the chipboard pieces have
 been altered the same way - first a layer of white gesso and then painted on with
Colourarte Vivid Ultra Metallics using a make up sponge.

I Just {Heart} This Kid
A Layout By Priscilla

Hello everyone,

I'm back today to share my 2nd project with 2Crafty Chipboard.

I used to shun pink when doing a layout for my boy, but I figured....who says we
 cannot use pink for boys? Make it colorful and add some awesome chipboard and
 viola you get a really fun looking layout :)

These are some close up shots with more details on the altered chipboards.
 Check out the caption of each to find out what I have used to alter their look.

Painted with 13arts Ayeeda Matte Paint in Green, Yellow and Blue.
Purple and Black speckles are from paint splatters using 13arts Ayeeda Matte Paint

in Lavender and Black Gesso

Maggie's Swirl colored with Distress Marker in Walnut Stain

Baby Photo Album by Jennifer Snyder

Hello.  Jennifer Snyder here with you sharing a baby photo album.
  I created this for a special friend who is having her first child.  Since
2Crafty has so many wonderful baby chipboard pieces, I thought an adorned
 photo album would be an ideal gift for new parents.

With all those photos excited new parents take, they will most certainly need
 a brag book to pass around at every opportunity.

The hardest part for me was choosing which chipboard pieces I would use.

So first, let me tell you which 2Crafty chipboard pieces  made it onto this little baby project:

2Crafty products used:
 "Funky Frames"
"Precious - Loopy Font"
"I Just (Heart) This Kid"
"Carousel Horse"

I kept my chipboard pieces very simple in terms of surface treatments.
 On the close up below, I selected the
"Funky Frames" (fr0021) and the word "Precious - Loopy Font".

I decided to paint them both yellow and accent with light pink ink of the edges.

The photo below shows my focal point as the chipboard piece
 "I Just (Heart) This Kid".
For consistency, I also painted and inked the edges for accent.
 As a final touch, I did outline the words and heart with a glitter gel pen.

The photo doesn't really show the delicate sparkle - like angel kisses on the chipboard.
At least that's what I think.

I have selected the "Carousel Horse",  unit code (m00050)
as the perfect end page of my photo album.
I coated this with embossing enamel with gold flecks mixed in it.

Here are some close ups of the chipboard pieces.   You can see what a beautiful
and delicate design the "Carousel Horse" is.   The little sentiments
 I used were printed on my computer and sized to fit.

Thank you for stopping by today.
