My project this month is an art journal page inspired by the moodboard at Mixed Media Place. Further down this post, there is link to a video tutorial of how the page came together.
Ive used several 2crafty chipboard pieces on my page: Checkerboard Clumps and Square Collage Panel to build layers and gears small & medium to embellish. As always, my first step was to gesso all the chipboard pieces. Can you see impressions of the square collage piece on the background? They were made by pressing down the chipboard while the gesso was still wet.
To match the pattern of the Checkerboard Clumps & gears, I've used similar pattern stamps on the background. The gears were coloured with sprays or inked with a stamp pad.
I hope you enjoy watching the tutorial.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Until next time, happy crafting,
Kripa
I
returned to my craft room after almost two months away last week and this was
the first project I made - a page to document my gratitude for the
timely help that the
universe sent us during times of crisis these last
few months.
There
are many layers of paint and texture paste on both pages. To create the
impressions on
the left side page, I pressed three Fluer De Lice ATC
pieces into wet texture paste , scratched
circles around them with a
palette knife and a few minutes later, carefully lifted out the first
two fluer pieces.
On
the other page, Ive written my gratitude with a fine tip applicator and
made a cluster of chipboard on top of it. There are still a few swirls
of brown visible under the chipboard pieces. The base of this cluster is
the negative from the Fluer de Lice ATC chipboard sheet. All of the
chipboard pieces were covered with white gesso on top of which acrylic
paint was applied using a palette knife. The only exception is the gear
chipboard under the ochre yellow fluer. It was painted on without gesso
and looks darker than the other brown pieces which adds subtle colour
variation.

'Together'
My second layout was inspired by Case File No: 248 at CSI:
Colours, Stories & Inspiration which 2Crafty Chipboard is sponsoring.
To frame the photograph, Ive used Ava's frames chipboard. To balance the swirls on the frame,
Ive added one piece from the Leafy Shrub Set 1 on the other side of the frame and another
piece from the same set in the bottom left corner of the page.
Finally, a Mini Flourish bit was tucked under the fuzzy cut flower cluster on the right .
Here is the video of how this page came together. I hope you enjoy.
I hope you all had a relaxing holiday with friends & family.
My January projects are both art journal pages that incorporate my chosen words/intent for this year.
'Embrace possibilities'
My year started with a box full of goodies from 2crafty chipboard. My first project is inspired by the delicate and beautiful pieces that you see in the close up below:Ella's border and Scroll 3. I layered them vertically between pieces of lace, ribbon and net alongwith a keyhole chipboard.
For the opposite side of the page, behind the sentiment, I tucked in a single flower from Ella's border and a key. All chipboard pieces first got a layer of texture paste applied with a palette knife followed by Colourarte acrylic silks & twinkling H2Os. For a distressed grungy look, all the paint was also applied with a palette knife.

'Live with intention'
Here is a step by step of how this page came together.
Start by gluing down squares of pattern paper using matt multi medium.
Apply a layer of gesso on the page and then some texture paste mixed with gesso
through a gears stencil.
Once dry, apply twinkling H2Os in shades of brown, rust & teal.
While that dries, apply white gesso on a selection of chipboard from Steampunk gears medium, Giant gears, cogs and gears, clock faces and light bulb. On a few dab Vivid Ultra Metallics with a make up sponge. The light blue colour is by using Twinkling H2Os on the gessoed gears.
For the title, Ive used gold metallic paint and dabbed some white gesso after the blue paint dried for a distressed effect. Below is a close up from the completed art journal page.
I've layered the gears and cogs on top of a sheet of chipboard left after removing the small steampunk gears. It gave me a flat base to layer the gears and cogs.
Hello 2crafty fans...

For this project I used a 12x12 chipboard as background. I glued all my chipboards,
(Clock face frames 12x12, Giants gears, circle stack, mini hot air balloons, steampunk gears medium, gears, Vintage clock hands and light bulbs)
with multipurpose medium gel onto my background.
I covered the whole project with white gesso.
All the edges of the chipboards were painted with matte blue and pistachio paint.
Then, I painted the outlines of my project with red cafeine paint
and I removed some paint with a baby's wipe.
Then, I used metallic bronze to make a patina effect.
With the aim of achieving better colors together for a better finish,
I sprayed pearl brown mist on the project.
Some flowers, badge, textures were used to create the arrangement.
The title: ''love'' from Arrow words set 2 had been color with some paint to fit with the layout.
''Adorable''
For my second layout this month, I wanted to make a full
textured, romantic, organic layout.
2Crafty chipboard products used...
Corner elegant set
Chloe's vines
Adorable script front
For this layout, I used only a very small amount of mediums. I only added
some green mist on the background to give an organic touch.
I put some different foam organic that we use in botany.
I placed the two pieces from cornet elegant set to create a dynamic design.
I used Chloe's vines to matt my picture and giving them a movement.
They seems attached to the corner elegant set.
I left the chipboard natural to fit with my layout. and I added some drops of gesso at the very end...
