'Perfection' Scrapbook Layout
By Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

Its starting to look & feel like autumn here, yet I'm unable to move away from lush green
& pretty pink flowers. So, my project today is a layout that looks a lot like spring.

"Perfection"

As the background was dark and provided enough contrast, I decided to paint the chipboard
pieces to blend in with the colours on the pattern paper. Layers of pattern paper & chipboard
have been built on top of a piece from the Cog Nested Frame. A smaller piece from the
same set has been used in the top right cluster. Tucked in between layers of pattern paper
and lace are pieces from...
Leafy Shrub Set 1, Mini flourish bits, Gigi's flowers & groovy flowers.

All the chipboard pieces were coated with two layers of heavy gesso. Dab the gesso using
a make up sponge to get a rough application. Once completely dry, paint the
Cog Nested Frame, Leafy Shrub Set 1, Mini Flourish Bits with shades of pink &
 green Twinkling H2Os.
Gigi's flower got a coat of dark burgundy acrylic paint and Groovy flowers peach acrylic paint.

Finally, the title piece - Perfection.I didn't add any colour to the title piece, its just
coated with several coats of white gesso.

November Projects & Video Tutorial
By Kripa Koushik

Hi friends,

Christmas Cards

My first project share is a set of 3 Christmas Cards.
They are not exactly a set as they all use different background techniques but
they are all Christmas themed.

I started by heat embossing on black cardstock with clear embossing powder. Next, one of the frames from the Polaroid Assortment Frames Chipboard Set was covered with pattern paper. The numbers 2 & 5 have been cut out from the Number Panels Chipboard and painted with Colourarte metallic gold paint. The stars also painted gold are from the ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars Set.

My favourite of the three is this card. Tucked under the vellum Santa is a silver painted star from the Handrawn Stars Chipboard set. The rest of the silver stars are from the ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars Set.

For the final card in the set, one of the Majestic Reindeer's has been painted gold. The
stars from ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars has been heat embossed with red embossing powder
to match the finishing of the sentiment.

Lets Hear It For The Boys - Scrapbook Layout

My second share this month is a layout of two cheeky & noisy boys
who are busy having a screaming contest!

There are a ton of different 2crafty chipboards on this layout. 4 pieces from the
Polaroid Assortment Frames form the main composition. A piece of the
Numbers Panel has been tucked behind the photographs on either side.

Doodled Arrows set draw the eyes from the chipboard title down to the photographs.
To compliment the pattern paper words, Ive used two pieces from Word Bubbles Set - Cool & Fun. Finally, I've added a piece of a Video finder chipboard and a cog to complete the layout.

I hope you enjoy the video tutorial of how the page came together.

September projects with Kripa

Hello friends,

Am I glad its starting to get warmer here in Sydney. Im eagerly looking forward to perfect beach weather. My first project reflects this mood of mine with 2craftychipboard Intricate Seahorses as the focal point.

Summer Canvas

All chipboard pieces were coated with white gesso & then Colourarte Vivid Ultra Metallics applied using a sponge. After the base layer of teal dried, dry brush with white acrylic paint dabbing more paint on the tail & fins.

Gesso can also be used instead of white acrylic paint. The stars in the Star Bubble Set have been painted with peach acrylic paint. Ive used a compass chipboard on either side for balance after painting it with silver & peach paints.

- Compass
- Star Bubble Set

Cute Kids Canvas

My second project is a special request from my son - a canvas to put on his room door. He didn't want a name board, so I used the Title chipboard Caution Kids at play as the focal point.

My favourite way of using gears is to pick a couple of pieces from the many gears and cogs sets available at 2craftychipboard - Cute cogs, Gears, Steampunk gears medium and small. All the gears were coated with white gesso before applying paint. Dab gesso with a sponge to create a grungy texture on the cogs & title.

The Checkerboard Clumps were directly painted on with red, maroon and gold paints.
To give them a darker and grungy look, no gesso was used to prime the pieces.

For the 'Caution' part of the title, after painting red, dry brush with white gesso. This technique uses a completely dry brush with the tiniest amount of paint. Once you pick up paint, dab the excess on scratch piece of paper till you think almost all the paint is gone. Then lightly drag it over the title. The paint will hit all the raised portions & highlight the texture.

Finally, I have a few more projects to share from last month.

Mini Album Cover
Can you find a 2crafty chipboard Vintage Key tucked in behind the flowers covered with shiny sequins and micro beads? The title chipboard piece 'A Wish Come True' felt like the perfect title for this mini album which will be used to document my trip to Europe.

ART - Journal Page
My next share is an art journal page that uses Moroccan Panel alongwith gesso & sand paste to create the textured background. The words ART have been made using sand texture through a stencil. Over the word is placed a chipboard Vintage Key. After painting the key with acrylic paint, Ive stamped a text stamp with black archival ink.

July Video inspiration with Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

Kripa here with my July projects and video tutorials for two scrapbook layouts.

'LOVE'

My first project is an A4 layout using kraft cardstock as base.

All the chipboards were first covered with white gesso, dried and then painted over with Colourarte Vivid Ultra Metallics. The pink paint on Doodled Heart was looking very bright after painting, so Ive dabbed some white gesso to soften the colour and give a distressed look.

Gigi's flowers got the tiniest amount of twinkling H2O watercolour, for the most part they retain their white from the gesso. The tile from the Fine Words Set was painted over with 3 shades of pink.

I hope you enjoy the video.

- Doodled heart
- Fine Word Set 2

'COOL DUDE'

My second project too features my son who is the muse for most of my layouts as you would have all realized by now. At that age he used to be full of energy and always ready to give a cheeky smile for the camera! I used the Triangle clusters chipboard and colours to compliment his playful & unpredictable bursts of energy especially at bedtime!

All the chipboard pieces were first coated with white gesso. I stuck the Triangle clusters on the layout and then dabbed Twinkling H2Os on them using a brush; a tiny bit of yellow, a touch of blue and a dot of red. Remember to leave some white space. It brightens the colours (visual illusion)

Using foam dots between the layers of patter paper behind the photograph, makes it easy to tuck in chipboard to embelish the layout. I outlined the pattern paper and Cool Dude Title chipboard with a Sharpie so the letters standout.

To balance the Triangle clusters without taking the spotlight away, Ive used 3 pieces from Chevron Bits.

Here is the video. I hope you enjoy it.
Look forward to reading your comments.

Hi, it's Beck Beattie here sharing with you my last projects.  I have had so much fun
playing with all the chippies, but unfortunately my term has come to an end. I will still

  But before we start....

  "Love is a Journey"
I used three different designs of chipboard on this canvas all in different way, and I
cant wait to show you how I incorporated different effects on each of them!

I also have video to share this month of this canvas I created. Hope you enjoy it!

I cut the circle lace panel into strips and then added to the corners of the canvas.  To add
more interest to them I first added Faber-Castell Black Chalkboard paint.  I then added colour
with Gelatos, followed by some  Gesso using a baby wipe to sponge it on.

I altered the corner Ivy chipboard piece and then added a gold colour spray.  I then added some   Gelatos in champagne and metallic melon over the top.  I also added some water with a mini mister to help the colours blend a little.

I added colour to the title piece with  Gelatos, followed by some  Gesso
using a baby wipe to sponge on

 "Masculine Card"
Today I also wanted to share with you a mixed media masculine card.

I enjoyed adding some different products on this one as well, altering the chipoard
colours in fun ways with various mixed media products.

I adhered the Stacked circles missing one in between size each time and then added
a coat of  Gesso.  I then added some Gelatos colour to the background.

I coloured up the 'Happy Birthday' words with a brown Faber-Castell PITT Artist Big Brush pen.

Next I added lots of layers of Gelatos in various colours for a mottled and aged look.
