Brothers Make the Best Friends - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
Laura here back to share my next layout for my husbands childhood album!

2Crafty Products used;

Brothers Make The Best Friends

Circle Stack

1" Hexagons

Chevron Bits

I wanted to create a bright and fun layout of my husband (dark hair) and his brother (blonde)

I die cut a bunch of hexagons from the paper then layered the circles and hexagons over top

I kept with the bright colors and painted all the pieces to match!

To bring your eye to the photo I used the chevron bits to point to it.

I also wanted to the title to stand out from the other chipboard pieces so I painted it black.

A Glimpse of you
Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
Laura back today to share my next layout for my husbands album.
This is my hubby when he was little.

2Crafty Products used;

Moroccan Bits

A Glimpse of You

Ginny's Flourish Set

Circle Stack

I painted all the chipboard white to coordinate with the papers but still stand out.  I layered elements under my title using different dimensions to add visual interest.

I tucked in the flourishes and Moroccan bits with other elements.

I used one of the circles from the stack as a frame element.

Totally Awesome - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi!
I am back today to share a layout I created using a school photo of our oldest many years ago.

2Crafty Products used;

Circle Stack
1 inch hexagon
Totally Awesome
Chicken Wire Panel

I inked the chicken wire panel and the title piece in the same burnt orange color and then
heat embossed the title.

Chicken Wire piece is great to stack in between layers, adds a bit of contrast without being too cumbersome on the layout.

I created clusters using the hexagons and circles that I simply inked to coordinate with the paper,
love the effect of this combinations, great for masculine pages.

Such a fun paper range for my photos, and love the versatility of the chipboard which allowed me
to add small clusters so not to take away from the scene on the paper but still allow for some
contrast and texture that the chipboard brought to the layout.

A Moment Captured - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
I have 2 sons and a husband so I create a lot of masculine layouts to celebrate their relationships!
This is my hubby and our youngest working on the Ty's truck.
They are always tinkering or working on things together.

2Crafty products used:

A Moment Captured

Steampunk Gears Medium

Circle Stack

Mini Checkerboard bits

Mini Sampler

After covering the paper with clear gesso I applied texture paste with a stencil then used orange brusho powder, Parisian Rosewood artisan powder and Winter Frost distress stain mist to color the paper.

I applied the same stencil/paste to the die cut circles.  I wanted the chipboard to reflect the grungy feel I was trying to accomplish.   I covered all the chipboard pieces with white gesso then I took the orange brusho powder and the rosewood powder and sprinkled the powders on my craft mat, spritzed with water then painted the pieces.  I added some more powders directly on the pieces then more water to add more vibrancy.

After I dried all the pieces I inked the edges with brown ink

For the title I covered in white gesso then sprayed with the Winter Frost distress stain heat set then applied it a few more times in spots to achieve the look I wanted.

Kindergarten Class Photo - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi!

While I was going through the old photos of my husband I saw this wonderful class photo of his kindergarten class!  Perfect for the school themed and not school themed wonderful 2Crafty chipboard!

2 Crafty Products used:

Circle Stack

Chevron Bits

Dotty Bits

Mini rulers

BookWorm

Photo Bomb

Mini School Class Titles

I wanted the chipboard to go with the theme of the layout so all the pieces I colored with pencil crayons (colored pencils).

For the title I used the mini class titles and the photo bomb - I just cut off the word bomb for future use!

The bookworm is so cute!

Florabella Cards by Tania Ridgwell

 Hi there!

Just popping in today to share the last of my DT projects for May.  I have created a set of cards.

"Florabella Cards"

2 Crafty Chipboard Used:

*Mini # Word Set 1
*Leafy Rounds
*Circle Stack

I created each of my card bases using the gorgeous Mintay Florabella Collection.
I used Art Alchemy Opal Magic Violet Gold Paint to colour all my chippie pieces.  I first added different sized Circle chippies to each of the cards.  Then to construct each of the cards I embellished them with fussy cut flower elements from the Mintay Flora Book 8 and blooms. I cut the Leafy Rounds in half and tucked them into the clusters on each card and to finish each card I added a Chippie Sentiment Title to them from the Mini Word Set.

See each card below.

Thats' all from me today, I hope I have inspired you all a little with my Florabella Cards.

Until next time thanks so much for stopping by.

Good Times - Laura Gilhuly

Hi! Laura here to share my next creation with you!

I love texture so I had a lot of fun creating this layout of our boys years ago when we and our friends made a demolition derby car!

2Crafty chipboard used:

After covering the paper with clear gesso I added some texture paste (dyed with Lindy's hot poker orange magicals) then used finnabair wax and rubbed on the stenciled surface to highlight it.

To alter the awesome chipboard I covered each piece with white gesso then added heavy texture paste and heat set.  I started spraying with different mists and used the wax to highlight.

For the title piece I used gesso, then texture paste, then coloured it with
an orange Gelato art crayon.

Dogs have a Special Way
-By Laura Gilhuly

Hey everyone!
Hope you are all having a fabulous day!

For my first March layout I wanted to share a layout I created about one
of our two furbabies - Axle!  He is a very sweet and loving dog that wants nothing
more than food and cuddles.  He may be 75 pounds but he thinks he's a lap dog!

2 Crafty Products used:

The title piece I painted to match the bright and colorful paper
then used clear embossing powder to give it a shine.

To create the clusters I used the circle stack in varying sizes and the
dotty bits along with some elements from the G45 collection.
For these pieces I also painted them and used clear embossing powder.
