Love Canvas - By Karan Gerber

"Love Canvas"
by Karan Gerber

Hi Friends and welcome  2 Crafty blog today.
Its Karan here to host the blog for you and I have a mixed media project to share.

I started with a 6x8 canvas, I primed with Gesso, added some texture paste and then baked embossing powders from Seth Apter manufactured by Emerald Creek Craft Supplies right here in Canada.
I love them, I have mixed some of the first line and some of the newest colors on this project.

This little project will be perfect for the new couple too add to a photo stand and they can remember the moments captured in this beautiful photo.
......
The clock Face I embossed with clear embossing ink and used Emerald Creek Taos Sunset baked embossing powder, its so gorgeous in real life, it makes that chipboard look like real metal. I also did the same to one of the Doilies

The photo frame:  I applied a coast of clear embossing ink and went over with desert sand baked embossing powder and while heating dropped a bit of ancient amber

I added in a couple sprigs of the Leafy Twig Branches in under the flowers just to add a bit of greenery.

I used the "Love" title from the fine word set 1, and i just inked this with vintage photo distress ink and dabbed a bit of vintage gold wax.

I also used Tahnyas 6 Inch border and just heat embossed it with white embossing powder, I attached it to the Polaroid Frame, its so finely detailed I just love it and I didn't want to hide the detail.

Thank you for dropping by the 2Crafty Blog today I hope you enjoyed by project

January Journal with Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

I hope you all had a relaxing holiday with friends & family.
My January projects are both art journal pages that incorporate my chosen words/intent for this year.

 'Embrace possibilities'

My year started with a box full of goodies from 2crafty chipboard. My first project is inspired by the delicate and beautiful pieces that you see in the close up below: Ella's border and Scroll 3. I layered them vertically between pieces of lace, ribbon and net alongwith a keyhole chipboard.

For the opposite side of the page, behind the sentiment, I tucked in a single flower from Ella's border and a key. All chipboard pieces first got a layer of texture paste applied with a palette knife followed by Colourarte acrylic silks & twinkling H2Os. For a distressed grungy look, all the paint was also applied with a palette knife.

2crafty chipboard used:
  • Scroll 3
  • Ella's border
  • Keyholes & Locks

'Live with intention'

Here is a step by step of how this page came together.

Start by gluing down squares of pattern paper using matt multi medium.

Apply a layer of gesso on the page and then some texture paste mixed with gesso
through a gears stencil.

Once dry, apply twinkling H2Os in shades of brown, rust & teal.

While that dries, apply white gesso on a selection of chipboard from Steampunk gears medium, Giant gears, cogs and gears, clock faces and light bulb. On a few dab Vivid Ultra Metallics with a make up sponge. The light blue colour is by using Twinkling H2Os on the gessoed gears.

For the title, Ive used gold metallic paint and dabbed some white gesso after the blue paint dried for a distressed effect. Below is a close up from the completed art journal page.

I've layered the gears and cogs on top of a sheet of chipboard left after removing the small steampunk gears. It gave me a flat base to layer the gears and cogs.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.
Wishing all of you a 'Very Happy 2018'

Makin' Art by Resident Guest Designer Emma Stafrace.

Hi everyone,
Emma here to share a couple more projects.
My first one is a little page in honour of my fabulously creative little scribble maker, Tige.
I love Tige's drawings and often get him to create a background for my digital pages but this month I thought I'd share some of his fabulous blackboard art which often extends off the blackboard, across the wall and along the back of the couch...fantastic NOT! But hey who am I to stifle his creativity? ;)
So here is master Tige being masterful with chalk.

'Makin' Art'
I used the Gears and Assorted Arrows for some fun elements and
the Alphabet Dainty in the title work.
I also created this hybrid page as a Double Agent over at CSI last month. This was for casefile #84 and is all about how little mister can't go past a puddle without getting absolutely saturated...
I cherish these moments so so much.

'Every Cloud has a Silver Lining'
Every Cloud Wordart
Mini Gears
Clock Faces
Chevron Bits

I also used some digi elements from Studio 68 printed on Grafix Rub-Onz
to form part of the background.
Lastly here is a page I created for the 2 Crafty Blog Hop a while back.
Yes I know yet another page of Tige it seems he is my muse ;)

'Selfies R Fun'
Chevron Borders
Word Bubbles
Film Strip Small
Thanks everyone hope you enjoyed this post and look forward to posting with you again next month!
