Karine's October share + video tutorial

Dear crafty friends,

It's Karine here today to share with you two layouts
. The first one is called «Love» and it features my brother's family.

I love this picture of them.
My brother seems so happy and in love, that I wanted to show that in my layout.

To do so, I started with the Love Heart Frames, that I embossed with a dark brown
embossing powder. It was my focal piece.

To give more texture to my layout, I used pieces of the Grid Panel, embossed in copper.
I placed those pieces here and there, behind my embellishments clusters.

I also used one of the Fine Heart Borders and cut it in pieces.

I embossed them with a gold embossing powder and placed them here and there,
over my flowers, in a curved shape. I love the effect.

My title piece is the word «Love» from the Line Words - Happiness Borders. I used
the same copper embossing powder than before to emboss it.

Some other close-ups...

I created a video tutorial for this layout. Enjoy.

My second layout is called «Family» and it features my two kids with their cousin.

This time, my focal piece is the title.

I embossed the «Family» title with a turquoise embossing powder, to go with my mixed media background.

I decided my picture needed some kind of framing, si I choose one of the 6'' Circle Revolution Frames and embossed it a deep teal color.

Just peeking from underneath my flowers clusters are the Mini Branches, also embossed
with a deep teal embossing powder.

I love the effect against the background.

I then selected the Leafy Silhouettes, embossed the same turquoise embossing powder
than before and scattered them around my flowers clusters.

I love the delicate shape of those Leafy Silhouettes.

Karine's Share with a video tutorial

Dear Crafty Friends,

It's my turn, today, to share my creations for the month.
The first layout I created is called "A Glimpse of You". Here it is.

A Glimpse of You

I wanted to use a few leaves and branches on that layout. I used the Spring Flower Bunches and Leafy Twig Branches above and below my picture.

I left all my chipboards bare, as I liked the contrast.

To frame the picture, I used the Frame Round Ornate.

My title piece is called A Glimpse of You.

In my embellishments, I chose to add just a little pop of red.

My second layout is called "Hello". Here it is.

Hello

I used a lot of chipboards on this layout. To make sure they fit together, I painted them all black. I began with the Film Strips - Small and the Film Strips - Medium.

I added a piece of the Grid Panel below my picture.

I also decided to add pieces of the Checkerboard Clumps, here and there.

Finally, my title piece, the "Hello" title, is embossed with gold embossing powder.

I made a process video. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Karine's April Shares and a Video Tutorial

Hi crafty friends, It's my turn today to share my April inspirations here on the 2Crafty blog. I don't know why,
I seem to gravitate towards purple this month. My first layout is called «Treasure» and
it showcases an old picture of my father when he was about 16 years old.

"Treasure"

I used clear gesso to cover the whole background paper. Then, I used two shades of metallic
acrylic paint. When everything was dry, I used black archival ink to stamp some numbers
and some checkered patterns. I finally used black modeling paste through a square stencil.

To anchor my composition, I used some of the 6'' Clock Face Frames,
which I embossed with purple embossing powder.

Here and there, under my clusters, I scattered some of the
Checkerboard Clumps pieces, that were embossed in black.

At the end, I used some micro beads on my my background, and some embellishments.

My title piece, the word «Treasure», is from the Mini Word Set 1. I embossed it in copper.

"This Girl"
My second layout features my daughter. I can't believe how fast
she grew up: she's already reading!

On my background, I used some clear gesso all over.
(I forgot to show this step in the video tutorial, sorry!)
I then spread some white gesso to create the area where I'll spread some color.

Some modeling paste, shimmering paints, sprays, stamps
and ink were used to create the background.

My main composition is built around the beautiful Ava's Frames piece.
I painted it with purple metallic acrylic paint.

I used flowers, die-cuts leaves and flair badges to embellish my layout.

I thought it looked good, but I wanted to add another piece of chipboard, painted in
blue metallic acrylic paint, this time, so I went for one Heart Charms piece.

I placed it towards the bottom of my picture. All around the main cluster, I used some
micro beads, some glass glitter and other mica flakes to add texture.

My title piece is the This Girl chipboard, which I painted with the same
purple metallic acrylic paint that I used before.

I made a video tutorial to share my creative process with you.
 I hope you enjoy it.
