April Share with Beck BT

Hi, it's Beck Beattie here.
Today I am sharing some fun projects featuring 2Crafty Chipboard of course!
I love how effective they can look in both altered and natural states.

Today I'm going to share with you the use of both!

  But before we start....
Please remember while you are here  to become a blog follower & leave a blog comment to
be eligible to go in our monthly draw for a great chippie prize pack.

"Be Yourself"

I was playing along with the Kraft+ challenge for this month which is black and white
on kraft with inspiration images.  2Crafty are a sponsor this month so it is an extra
awesome month to play along and hopefully win yourself some yummy chipboard!!

For my title I applied a coat of Indigoblu Cottage Paint in Pantry white.
Given the highly pigmented paints I only needed to apply one coat.

I love the natural kraft colour of the chipboard and thought they worked well to break
up the colours of the background, so I left both the diamond panel and star frame
pieces which I cut up and adhered in clumps, in their natural state.

For the Harlequin clumps I simply applied some black permanent ink with my
ink pad to colour them and adhere in clumps of three around the page.

Diamond Panel

"Amaze yourself Canvas"
For my canvas I layered some fun 2Crafty pieces for a striking effects onto a
layered mixed media canvas.

I once again painted the Amaze Yourself chipboard title with
Indigoblu Cottage paints in 'Pantry White'

The background piece I applied a coat of black ink by rubbing over it.

For the key I first coloured it with a gold marker and then embossed it through my
die cut machine with a sweet embossing folder, love how it came!

October Shares with Beck Beattie

"Best Birthday"

Hi, it's Beck Beattie here with my October inspiration shares
I decided this month I would focus on some different products you could use to easily colour
up your chipboard pieces.  Both of these products (one used on each layout) are often my go
to when I want to add a little colour mostly because I have the most amount of different colours.

For this first layout I decided on using Gloss Enamel paint.  I love how easily it coats the
chipboard, adds a little gloss and also dries rather quickly for paint.  I used these three
colours on the different chipboard pieces.
Sometimes when I want to achieve a brighter colour on the chipboard I will apply a coat
of gesso first to give it a white base.  I decided upon doing this with the title and also the red arrows.

I also used Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos and Tinby Designs Metallic Melts
in my background to contrast the strong colour of the chipboard pieces.

Mini Fast Forward Arrows
Square Collage Pane
Birthday Sentiments

"Live Laugh Love"
For my second layout, I focused on the use of Copic Markers to colour up my pieces.
I didn't use any priming such as gesso as a base on any of them and I was quite pleased
with how the colours came up.  Sometimes in the past I have used Gesso for a brighter
look with some of the lighter colour markers.

These are the Copic Colours I used:

The "Live Laugh Love" word comes up so nice with the orange marker against the other colours.

It was SO easy to colour up the Interlocking Grid panel with the marker.
I used the wedge tip end when colouring up each of the pieces.

I used the black for the circle as I wanted to create some added depth but not take
away from the title.  Just love how it came!

Layering up the pieces really takes focus to the photo.

I co-ordinated the coloured chipboard with watercolours and stencilling in my background
as well as some background stamping.

October Share With Beck Beattie

"Live Your Adventure"

Hi, it's Beck Beattie here with my October inspiration shares
I'm away in the US at the moment, but really excited to share with you my latest creations!

I really had fun using the my photo as inspiration for the chipboard I used and how I applied colour.

I enjoyed leaving the pieces a little natural to work in with the background and so
I didn't alter the circle frame at all.

For the 'Happy Birthday' title I coloured with blue colour spray - this was such a quick
way to add the colour to the piece of chipboard!

I applied some brown distress ink to the edges of the triangles to give them
more depth and interest as well as working in better with the background.

   2Crafty Chipboards Used:
  Loads of Triangles
Happy Birthday Card pack
6inch Circle Revolution frames

"Cherish"
For my second layout, I once again had fun with the chipboard, this time creating layers
for added depth.  I love how the chipboard pieces create a beautiful feature to this page.

Altering chipboard really helps to create dimension and interest as in this page,
as they all build on the colours in the photo and the background.

The "cherish" word was simply inked with black ink for a striking contrast.

Applying a coat of the Indigoblu Flitter glue and mega flack really transforms the pieces
of chipboard for a completely different look.

Tucked in the foliage looks so beautiful and adds more interest to the page.

The 'cherish' word creates a beautiful contrast to the page helping it to stand out.

Layering up the pieces really takes focus to the photo.

2Crafty Chipboards Used:
 6 inch Crcle Revolution frames
Beaded Heart borders
5" Floral frame
Leafy Twig branches
