April Inspiration and VIDEO tutorial by Tammy

Hello 2Crafties!!

Tammy here today to share this month's projects. 

I have a couple of layouts and a VIDEO tutorial to share with you all.

First up I have a layout titled:

'This Boy'

A layout about my boy and his gift with children. 

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"6 inch Revolution Frames"

"Chevron Bits"

"This Boy Title"

 I applied black gesso to the "6" Revolution Frame" and then embossed it with a

distressed rust emboss powder.  This gave it a grungy metal look.

I applied the same emboss powder to some of the 'Chevron Bits', but achieved a totally different look by simply applying white gesso first, instead of black gesso.

It looks much more rusty and copper in colour than the circle frame.

To the other parts of the 'Chevron Bits' I added various ink colours until I achieved a grungy look I was happy with.

I just love the versatility of  2 Crafty Chipboard!!

For the 'This Boy' title, I applied black gesso and then clear emboss powder to the 'this' part.

To the 'boy' section, I used various ink colours until I achieved the grungy look.

I love the titles with two different fonts, and I love finding different ways to alter them.

I've created a video, so you can see EXACTLY how this page unfolded.

My second creation this month is titled:

'Sightsee'

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

'Sightsee Title'

'Fir Xmas Tree'

'Thistle Shrub'

'Summer Leaf Stems'

I painted the 'Summer Leaf Stems' with a few coats of white gesso and tucked them in between my photos.

Next I grabbed the two 'Fir Xmas Trees' and trimmed off the star on the top and the pot on the bottom.  

They are the perfect shape for my layout (minus the Xmas feel) as this layout is about taking our USA family to my step-dad's home.  He lives in a forest, surrounded by Pines and Gums so these trees were perfect.

I then applied watercolours in various shades of green to achieve a dappled look.

To the 'Sightsee Title', I added a variety of Inks until I achieved a grungy, earthy colour I was happy with.

I placed this on top of my cluster.

I also added in the 'Thistle Shrub'

I left this raw, as I felt it went well with the earthy natural tones of the layout.

I really love all the natural fibres in this layout, and I enjoyed altering the chipboard to match in with this.

I have an extra share today - a layout I recently created for Scrap the Girls and their current Challenge Challenge- all about 'Me'.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Gigi's Flowers"

"Mini Branches"

"This is Me Title"

I applied Black Gesso to the title 'This is Me'.

I then applied some Finnabair Opal Magic in Aqua/Rose to just the 'Me' section.

I applied black gesso to the 'Mini Branches' and tucked these throughout the layout.

I applied a few coats of white gesso to the 'Gigi Flowers' and scattered these through the layout.

Lots of vibrant colour, lots of journaling. Very ME!!

Hello, 2Crafty Fans!  I'm here to share three layouts I made  with the awesome 2Crafty products. "Cute from Head to Toe"

That's Ezra, my best friend's granddaughter,  and she is the definition of cute, so the 2Crafty title  was just the thing for this layout. 2Crafty elements pictured below: Light Bulbs Frame Zig Zag Borders I just love these light bulbs. They add an interesting, quirky  touch to any layout. I used pewter embossing powder  to give mine a metallic finish and then added vellum behind it.

Circular Panel

Cute Loopy Font

The three circles below are cut from a panel of 36 circles. 

This is such a versatile product. You can use it whole or use parts of it.

You can fill the circles or leave them empty to frame parts of your layout.

I coated mine with glue and sprinkled pink glitter.

How awesome is the loopy font? It can be whimsical or fancy, 

depending on your layout. I painted the title with white acrylic paint.

Then I stamped it with tiny dots in magenta 

and coated it with clear embossing powder to give the dots shine.

The zig zag border comes with four nested pieces. 

Like the circles, I coated them with glue and then 

sprinkled pink glitter to give them glitz.

Up at the top, I tucked a piece of a frame 

from the Polaroid Assortment into the layers and embossed it with 

the same pewter embossing powder I used on the lightbulb.

"Sightsee"

  My sister-in-law was visiting from Iran a few weeks ago,  and this is a picture my husband took of her in Baltimore.  I made this page and framed it for her to take back home  to remember her trip to Maryland. 2Crafty elements pictured below: Flourish Adornment Set 4 ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars 6" Clock Face Frames Sightsee title
I wanted to somehow represent the water in the photo,  and this lovely flourish reminded me of waves splashing. I used navy embossing powder on it and added blue stars for added interest.

2Crafty elements pictured below: Sightsee title Flourish Adornment Set 4 ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars 6" Clock Face Frames I wanted to give my title a weathered look as if sprayed by the water.  I embossed it with a rust color. Then I re-melted it and applied white embossing powder  and embossed it again. I outlined it with a fine marker to give it added definition.

2Crafty elements pictured below: Asst Arrows 6" Clock Face Frames Polaroid Assortment My husband isn't the best at photographic composition,  and it looked like my sister-in-law had a pole coming out of her head!  I disguised that with this cool 2Crafty arrow,  which I embossed with the same blue embossing powder I used on the stars.

2Crafty elements pictured below: Asst Arrows 6" Clock Face Frames Polaroid Assortment The chipboard circle is from the Clock Face Frames.  There are three nested clocks in that set, and in between them are circles,  which I used here. I used white embossing powder and wrapped some jute around it. The frame around my Parizad is from the Polaroid Assortment, and I used black stamp ink and added some metal dots.

"Brainiac"

I created this layout for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration with the 

Case File Below. I was trying to answer the question: 

Are you right-brained or left-brained, and I decided I am both. 

I found the perfect pieces of 2Crafty chipboard to embellish this layout.

2Crafty elements pictured below: Light Bulbs How cool is this lighbulb? I inked it black  and added a sun behind it to act as rays of light.

2Crafty elements pictured below: Gears I thought the gears would be a perfect embellishment to represent the left side of my logical brain. I inked these black and added a  colorful geometric brad to the center of one.

Sharon's Butterflies
Flourish2

The butterfly was just the thing to represent my creative right brain.
I inked it with black stamp ink and added some bling.
I used part of the flourish as a butterfly trail. The Flourish2 is a great set
to get because you get 10 in a pack, and they're so useful for adding that little extra flair.
