Bees & Butterflies Cards by Tania Ridgwell

 Hello there!
Tania joining you today to share the first of my DT projects for April.
I have created a set cards for my first share.

2 Crafty Chipboard Used:

*Mini Decorative Frame Set 8
*Mini Decorative Frame Set 7
*Flourish 2
*Mini Lattice Bits

I created each of my card bases using the gorgeous Paper Rose "Bees & Butterflies" Paper Collection.

For these cards I kept all the chippie pieces raw as I think it suited the colours in the papers perfectly.

To construct each of the cards I added either a Mini Decorative Frame (including the centre piece) 7 or 8 chippie to each.  I then embellished them with paper blooms. I tucked in Foliage chippies amongst the blooms on two of the cards and the other two cards I tucked in Mini Lattice Bits chippies pieces.

See each card below.

That's all from me today, I hope I have inspired you all a little with my Bees & Butterflies Cards.
Until next time thanks so much for stopping by.

Beach Babe - Laura Gilhuly

Hi everyone!

Laura here today to share another layout for my husbands album!

I know the photo is not the greatest, but it deserves to be remembered!

2Crafty chipboard used:

Seaweed Set 1

Charlotte Page Flourish

Flourish 2

Beach Babe

SeaShells Set 2

For Charlotte's Flourish and the Beach Babe Title, I wanted it to coordinate with the paper but still have a beachy feel.  I painted it with Salvaged Patina distressed paint and heat set it, I then added Peacock Feathers distress paint and sprayed with water so the paint looks two toned.  I added some tainted Teal powder and again sprayed with water.  I allowed it to air dry then splattered white gesso mixed with some water with a fan brush.

I wanted to introduce a complimentary color to the teal papers and I took inspiration from my husbands shirt in the photo and decided to add orange.  I used modeling paste and a stencil then added orange brusho powder spritzed with water.  To continue with the orange I painted the seaweed and the flourish 2 with orange impasto paint and the same paint mixed with a little white.  I painted the seashells and the other seaweed with pearl white paint then added a little color with orange and teal paint that I wiped off to only leave a shadow of the color.

Thank you so much for stopping by

You Rock - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi!

Laura back today to share my next layout for 2Crafty Chipboard!

The handsome young man is oldest Cody who really enjoys playing the guitar.  Music is a big part of his life.  I wanted to create a grungy masculine layout so I ripped, edged and used a stencil on the paper.

2Crafty Products used:

ATC Music Notes

Flourish 2

Grid Bits

Guitar

You Rock

I tucked the Flourish in behind the title and elements to give dimension after I inked it dark green and heat embossed it.  The title I wanted to stand out from the background and to achieve that I hightlighted the blue paint with copper paint

The guitar I covered in clear gesso, heat set, then applied green mist, watered down copper paint then inked with brown ink.

I also used green and brown ink on the Grid Bits and added a few painted music notes.

Thanks for looking

Togetherness my favourite time - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!

Laura here today to share my first April project!

2 Crafty products used:

Cartias swirl

12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frames

Togetherness my favourite time

Flourish 2

I trimmed the 12x12 weathered clock face frames so they ended at the side of the page then added texture paste and allowed to dry.  Once dry I painted them a dark brown, dried and dry brushed some white paint to accent the texture I applied earlier

I also applied the texture paste to the Cartia's Swirl and Flourish 2.  I then inked with uncharted marine distress ink and added white paint (which seems like blue because I used distress ink)

I wanted the title to stand out from the other images so I painted it white and layered it above a few die cut images.

November Inspiration - A Layout & An Altered Notebook Cover
PLUS TWO VIDEO TUTORIALS By Mary Catt

''Amazing Beauty''

Hello 2Crafty fans!!
Mary here with you all today to share my November inspiration.
This time, I made a layout and an altered notebook cover with two video tutorials.

My first project is a layout which was made with lots of flowers combined
with some beautiful chipboard pieces.

I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL with the procedure.

2Crafty Chipboards used...
Flourish 2
Autumn Leaves
Mini Word Set 1

Here are some close ups...

First, I made a mixed media background with modeling paste and a stencil and made
some random stamping. Then, I added color with the ''Bayou Boogie Gold'', the
''Golden Doubloons'' and the ''Whale Watch Blue'' Lindy's Gang sprays.

While waiting everything to dry, I heat embossed the ''Autumn Leaves'' and the title word ''Amazing'' from the ''Mini Word Set 1'' with the ''Bratwurst Brown'' Lindy's embossing powder.

The ''Flourish 2'' chipboard and the word title ''Beauty'' from the ''Mini Word Set 1''
were also embossed with the ''Cosmic Blue Violet'' powder.

Finally, I added some copper micro beads and glass glitter and made
some splatters with white acrylic artist ink.

''Altered Notebook Cover''

My second project is an altered notebook cover created with lots of chipboards
along with some metal embellishments, art pebbles and art stones.

You can see the procedure on my VIDEO...

2Crafty Chipboards used...
Moroccan Panel
Steampunk Gears Small
Steampunk Gears Medium

And a closer look at the details...

I started by applying a coat of black gesso on my cover. Then, I created texture with
graphite texture paste and a stencil. When dried, I applied a second layer of black gesso.

The next step was to cover all the chipboards and embellishments with black gesso.
When they dried, I glued everything down.

And then was the fun part... painting the cluster with sparks acrylic paints. I used the
Raven Black, the Unicorn's Hair, the Dragon's Eye & the Magical Pond paints.

Well, that was all for today...

I hope I gave you some inspiration!
