Close ups of the finer details...

Tips for colouring your chipboard !

Tip 1 - use watercolour shimmer markers to colour your chipboard and
add that layer of shimmer and shine.

Tip 2 - Use paint dabbers to create an ombre effect on your feather chippie pieces.

Paint the top of the feather in one colour and then using the other paint dabber,
colour the bottom of your feather and use the dabber to gently blend the two colours together.

Tip 3 - Adding distressed foil accents to your chipboard pieces

Use a cheap glue stick and rub over your chippie pieces roughly.
Using tweezers add foil flakes over the top of your glue areas.
Let dry and then using a large stiff paintbrush, roughly brush
over the top of the chippie pieces, brushing off the excess foil leaving
distressed foil accents.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I would love it if you left me some feedback xx

March Shares by Debbi Tehrani

Hi, 2Crafty Fans!
I'm here to share some layouts I made with the awesome 2Crafty chipboard.
It was a great honor to have 2Crafty sponsor my scrapbooking challenge
CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration in February,
and I had lots of fun incorporating 2Crafty pieces into my layouts.

"Alphabet Adventure"

Here's the Case File I used:

I decided to document our alphabet adventure that my husband and I embark on every Sunday after church. You can read the details about this adventure on my blog, if you're interested.

For one of the clues, I chose to use the alphabet as a design element. I removed the chipboard letters from a 2Crafty sheet of Dainty Alphabet letters and painted it with gesso. I liked the rough look it had so I left it with just gesso. I strategically cut it so that the "abc" would be part of my page and backed the negatives from those letters with papers that coordinated with my cluster. I tucked a 2Crafty geotag inside the "b" and added tiny letter stickers near the "a" to form  part of my title--Alphabet.

The "Adventure" from the Travel Word Disc Set was just perfect for my title. I used black embossing powder to give it a slick modern look. This is such a great, versatile chipboard set, as it comes with 7 different words that are perfect not only for travel-themed projects but other themes as well.

I love using the Polaroid Frames to make a particular photo or other element stand out. This Polaroid Assortment Frames set is such a great set that includes 8 frames of various sizes. I coated  mine with white embossing powder. The bottom has space to add other elements, such as the 2Crafty Arrow and phrase sticker that points the way to the story on the back of my page. A little jute tied around the frame dressed it up even further. You will definitely want to get that Assorted Arrow set--you get 30 arrows of all different shapes!

"Looking Forward"

Here's the Case File I used for this page:

My page is about the things I'm looking forward to when I lose all my weight.
I'm down 32 pounds and have a long way to go, so I have lots to look forward to!
The idea for this journaling came from a list prompt. I made my own patterned paper
at the to by typing my list and repeating it again and again.

I found several pieces of 2Crafty chipboard that were perfect for my page.
The sketch on the Case File had a circle, and I knew I wanted to use one of my favorite 2Crafty pieces--6" Circle Revolution Frames. This set comes with three pieces--I used the smallest circle on this page, which is 3 inches. (I scrap 8 x 8, which is why the pieces may look a little larger.)
I coated all my chipboard on this layout with embossing powder. I love the way the black adds some drama to the pastel palette and makes the beautiful 2Crafty chipboard stand out.

I used the Alpha Set 1 for my title and substituted a Mini Camera for the "o"--a perfect accent
to emphasize the message of my page.

Finally, a piece from the beautiful Leafy Shrub Set 2 added a lovely flourish to my flower cluster.

"A Little Bit Scruffy"

Here's the Case File I used for this page:

This is my sweet, stinky, scruffy, 18-year-old kitty Little Brent. The arrows from the Assorted Arrows Set were just the thing to point to my sweet kitty's face. I inked them to match the palette and cut them apart so it looked like the arrows were going through the circular frame.

I used the middle-size Circle Revolution Frame, embossed in black, to draw attention to my boy and layered a word from the Friendship Mini Word Pack, which I embossed in white.

The circles scattered on my page are from the Circles sheet, which contains an assortment of circles that are so versatile. I also used a half of a raw Polaroid Frame, left from another layout where I had used just half of the frame, to hold my journaling.

February Shares By Debbi Tehrani

Hi, 2Crafty Fans!
I'm here to share three layouts I made
using the awesome 2Crafty chipboard.

"#Happy"

These beautiful girls are my husband's nieces.
I'm making a book for Mehrnaz, and I gave her this page
when she visited a couple of weeks ago.

How awesome is this Bubbly Reed Panel
Such a cool backdrop for a photo.
I used some circles from the Circles sheet
to sort of extend the panel to the edge of my page.
I coated them with white embossing powder
to give them a crisp look against the kraft background paper.

I used red stamp ink to color the Funky Heart and then inked the edges with black ink.
The title came from the 6 X 6 Summertime sheet and was the perfect size to layer over the photo.

"Summer Fun"

I fell in love with these awesome 2Crafty palm trees,
and this picture my mom, sister, and nephew posing with their parrot hats
at the Jimmy Buffett concert seemed the perfect opportunity to us them.

I covered the palm fronds with green paper
and then stamped it to give it texture.
The trunks were colored with brown stamp ink.
I painted the "Fun" title from the Summertime sheet and Funky arrow yellow
and outlined them with a pen to give these elements
a sort of cartoon-y feel I was going for with this page.

I thought the center of the nested Zig Zag circles looked like a sun,
so that's what I made it. I painted it yellow and added a Circle Word
misted with Heidi Swapp Color Shine, which gave it a fun shimmer.

The Polaroid Frames are handy for tucking into the layers to add a bit of fun.
I painted mine yellow and saved the other part for a future layout.

"Blizzard"

That's my step-dad who passed away last year.
I gave this page, along with several others, to my mom for Christmas.
I made this layout for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration, using this Case File:

How beautiful is this 2Crafty Fine Snowflake
It's a little big for my 8 x 8 page, but I love it so much,
I wanted to make it a highlight of my page,
and I framed part of it to draw attention to it.
I embossed the snowflake with a white embossing powder
that has silver glitter in it to give it a frosty shimmer.

I used pewter embossing powder on many of the other pieces,
like the Chevron Bits. I love how those pieces can draw your eye
to a photo or other element that deserves attention.

The Alpha Set 1 is a perfect size to create your own title.
I embossed the letters with the same pewter,
and I used a blue embossing powder for the Folk Heart.
