Hello Lovelies!
Em with you on the blog today sharing a vintage/nature vibed piece.
This project is created using some bookplates that are heavily layered and are created on
its own with no background paper etc. 

I guess it's a little like making a large tag, or mini layout. And of course the chipboard pieces compliment these pages perfectly.

I decided to play around with the chipboard more than I usually do. In saying that the
finishes chosen were still simple to execute.

For the Tiny Leaf Stems I chose to paint them in a beautiful green acrylic and then dusted
them lightly with an embossing powder. 

I wasn't after complete coverage on the leaves so leaving them random suited me and
gave way to more detail & interest.

The piece that I chose from the Leafy shrub set was painted with the same green acrylic
as the leaves and this time a clear emboss glaze was used over to create a shine and allow
the green to shine through.
Then the little mini tags were painted in a blue acrylic. Once these were dried I added rub-ons
to create a worn vintage finish but totally compliment the background papers used.

I love the over all look to this piece and the chipboard and resin really make this creation
a stand out for me. I love these colour tones too.

Swimming by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty friends!

One thing my family has really been missing since this pandemic started is our

 weekly sporting activities. My son has been part of a swimming team for several 

years now and made several friends along the way. He's been missing them and his 

favorite sport a lot since everything was cancelled what now seems like an eternity ago.
 

"Swimming"

For the "Intricate Seahorses", I used some green 

shimmering paint and inked the borders in black.

On the "Tiny Leaf Stems", I used baby-blue embossing ink and 

smudged some teal wax on top with my fingers. 

For the "Splats Puddle", I applied teal-gold shimmering paint.

For "Everything is Cancelled", I used two coats of black embossing powder. 

On the title, "Swimming", I applied white-blue embossing enamel then

 smudged some teal wax on top.

"Just You" Canvas by Marie Sabatier

Despite the difficult situation in which we currently live, it is important to continue to live by helping ourselves morally with our families, our friends, our occupations.

I hope that my first creation of this month of April will bring you a little inspiration to make you want to create.

I chose to create a canvas with this magnificent "Corner Heart Spray" chipboard

"Just you"

I applied a layer of white gesso on each chipboard.

For the "Corner Heart Spray" chipboard I applied a layer of white crackle paste.

This gives an aged effect.

To stick I used double sided with foam it gives relief.

For the little hearts I applied very light blue embossing powder.

For the "Lattice Heart" and "Tiny Leaf Stems" chipboards I applied "Café au lait" embossing powder.

I chose very pastel shades.

To finish with the title I also worked with embossing powder. 

I like the soft effect of these pastel shades.

Here it is finished, I hope that you will have liked it and that during a few minutes you will have forgotten this sad world.

"Happiness is This" by Marie Claude Rodier

Hello 2Crafty lovers!

How I cherish those special moments when my kids play along when I take pictures.

The photo in the layout I'm showing you today is part of a special photoshoot

 we did a few summers ago in a beautiful park.

"Happiness is this"

Happiness is this title was basecoated with a layer of white gesso 

then lightly covered with green Gelatos.

It was also distressed with sandpaper. Gold wax touches were added here and there.

11" Fine Floral Frame Set was cut into several pieces.

The two largest parts were left natural and tucked under the papers
in the upper and lower opposite corners.

Tiny Leaf Stems were also basecoated with white gesso, 

then lightly covered with green Gelatos.

Finally, a dark tone of green Gelatos was applied on the leaves to create a greater contrast.

The smallest pieces of 11" Fine Floral Frame Set were placed under the picture

and white gesso was applied as a final touches.

"Just love our Story" by Marie Sabatier

My second inspiration for this month of October. Let's forget that it's autumn. 

With this picture of my second son and his girlfriend I wanted colors. 

It's so beautiful to love ...

To highlight my picture I chose the chipboards Handdrawn-heart-frames

They are great that allows to frame well.

I applied a layer of white gesso on it and then a Twilight Blue Slate and a Midnight Sapphir color embossing powder.

For other chipboards I also applied a layer of white gesso that I covered with lilac ink to match with the bottom of my paper and bring softness and a little wax for a touch of shine

To remember do not forget the year!!!!

And for the hearts I applied Cuckoo Clock Cardinal color embossing powder

As always to finish the embellishments that will bring out these beautiful chipboards

We've Been Friends Forever

Hi, 2Crafty fans! I"m here to share a couple of layouts with you today. 

My friend Laurie is a little camera shy, so I was so happy to have a recent snapshot with her.
 We've been friends forever--well, since high school anyway! I made this page for her birthday.

To frame the photo, I used the "Chained Circle Frames." First, I coated the chipboard
with gesso. I didn't have any paint or ink in a color to match my papers, so I mixed up a
 bunch of different watercolor paints until I got a matching color and painted the circle.
For some reason, it wasn't wanting to dry, and I was getting impatient, so I sprinkled
some clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. 

For my title, I used words from two different sets, "Friendship Mini Word Pack" and
 "Mini Word Set 2." I used black embossing powder for the "forever" and mixed up
different watercolor paints for the friends, and used clear embossing powder over that."

I wanted the detailing to show up on the "Mini Camera," so I used a silver leafing pen by Krylon.

I echoed the checkered tile floor in my photograph with the 2Crafty  

"Checkerboard Clumps," which I colored with a paintbrush dipped into

 Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine spray, which gave it a little shimmer. 

I used the silver leafing Krylon pen on the "Light Bulb" to preserve the lovely etched detail.

 The little heart, from "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" was treated the same as the word "Friends." The arrow from the "Asst Arrows" was cut off in the closeup photograph (you can see it in my layout above). I left it white from the gesso coating it.

Hello Sweet Home

My niece and her husband just bought their first home, so I thought I'd make a page
 for them to commemorate this important milestone. I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

I just love the new lovely loopy "Hello" and wanted to make it a focal point of my page. 

It looks enormous on my page because I scrap 8 x 8, but I love how big it looks--

it makes a statement! I coated all my chipboard with gesso, as I almost always do when

 I set out to make a page because I'm never sure how I'm going to treat the chipboard.

 I used two colors of stamp ink to coat the Hello. I also used stamp ink on the word

"sweet," which" was from the "Friendship Mini Word Pack," and then I used a

 tiny polka dot stamp with gray stamp ink to give it a little texture. 

I left the birdhouse with the gesso coating and then colored in the entrance hole with a

 teal marker and used stamp ink and a paintbrush to color the roof. The little bird was 

coated with blue stamp ink, and then added their address on top. The bird and house are

 from the "Birdhouse" set.

The leaves poking out above the flower were snipped from the "Tiny Leaf Stems."

  I also used several shades of stamp ink to color them.

The key, which came from the "Keyholes and Locks" sheet, was coated with silver

embossing powder. The little hearts are from the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars," and I 

treated them the same as I did the word "sweet" in my title.

To echo the doily I used, I chose a piece from the lovely "Lacy Border Set" at the
 top of my page and left it with just the gesso coating.

I'd like to share an extra layout on which I used the fabulous 2Crafty filmstrip.

I made this page for the current challenge at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

I used the "Small Filmstrip," coated with a lovely glittery embossing powder,

 to fulfill the filmstrip clue in the Case File.
