'Adeline' - By Emma Zappone

Hey friends,
Em with you today, sharing my 1st project for July.

"Adeline"

Here are the chipboard elements used:

6" Mandala
Beaded Hanging Heart
Circle Flowers

I started by painting all the chipboard with black Gesso.
Then I applied a metallic gold acrylic over the top.
The circle flowers show this colour the best.

Once these were dry, I added the same paint through a stencil and added gold emboss powder to add some visual interest on these pieces.

The remaining chipboard all had some chunky emboss powder unevenly dusted over to create a weathered look, or peeling paint look.

The beaded heart chipboard, had the heart cut off and then I dissected even further by cutting the circles in half again to add more variety to my layers.

The Mandala was also cut in half to extend the use amongst my layers.

I hope you feel inspired and get your create on too.

Till next time, Em xx

'Never Stop Believing' - by Emma Zappone

Hi there 2Crafty friends.
Em with you today with a small Mixed Media panel.

Here are the awesome chipboard elements used.....

Pretty Flowers
Mollies Butterfly Set
Foliage Set 7

I painted all the chipboard pieces with some Color Glow powders, that left a beautiful shimmer to them.

Look at all that awesome shimmer!

I love the way these powders sit on the chipboard. These I chose not to prime first, so that the water that mixes with the powder, soaks into the chippy a little and mutes the colour but leaves all the shimmer.

I love the calmness this panel creates.

I hope you have been inspired a little today.

I hope to catch you all again soon.

Till then, Em xx

ABC - by Emma Zappone

Hello.
Emma with you today with an A4 layout.
This project has some of my favourite chipboard elements.
I hope this layout inspires you today.

Here are the chipboard pieces chosen for this creation....

Clock Faces
Alphabet
Geo Panel
Arrows
Funky Film strip

I wanted the chipboard to fit amongst the layers blending into the background but still having
 a presence of their own.

The film strip really compliments the paintwork on the background paper and the tags and tickets in the layers.

I used a chopped piece of the geo panel to break up the paper layers from the photo.

The clock face was used as a feature of the orange tone. Blending it with the butterfly wings and causing it to compliment and tie all the elements together.

The 2 small arrows used, are finished with a metallic colour glow, and a contrast from the neutrals and browns of the whole project.

I hope this layout inspired you in some way today.

Until next time, Stay Crafty.

This Moment - by Emma Zappone

 Hello 2crafty friends.
Em with you today, this time sharing an 8x8 canvas.
Canvas' are really becoming one of my favourite surfaces to work with.

This project I really wanted to only work with black & white, with just a small hint of 1 colour,
which I chose to be pink.

Here are the chipboard elements used on this project....

Decorative Doily 6"
Foliage set 2
Circle Flowers

In keeping with the B&W theme, I painted all the chippy in black gesso.

This made them really stand out from the white and when the pink elements were added.

Once all the papers, chippy and embellishments were added I flicked with white ink to add that contrast against the black.

I love this concept of neutrals with one small pop of colour. I think I will be trying it out again real soon.
Hmmm, I wonder what colour to use next.....

Till next time, stay Crafty.

'Bloom Wild' by Emma Zappone

Hello everyone!
Popping in with a small share today.
I created an A6 'Tag' style project, featuring small chipboard elements amongst the layers.

Here are the chipboard elements used....

Mini Decorative Frame set 5
Old World Key/Lock set
Chunky Dandelions

I kept the finishes simple on all the chippy this time.
I nearly left them raw, but they blended in too much, so I added some metallic ink to them.

These mini frames are probably my favorite to use. I always seem to be drawn to them.

How awesome are the dandelions?! They add a little quirk within this project.

Now the key isn't all that small, but I just loved the oddity it brings to the composition.
And it frames the photo perfectly, and adds some leverage to the quote.

At the end, I added a dotting of white gesso over the chipboard elements to add depth.

It was fun creating so small.
I hope I have inspired a little today.

Until next time, stay Crafty.

'Be a Wildflower' by Emma Zappone

Hi everyone,
Em with you today, sharing an '8x10' canvas.
I have been playing rather grungy of late, so for this one I thought I would pretty things up a little.

Using some stunning papers and colours along with the fab chippy this project evolved.

Here are the chipboard elements used....

4" Mandala
Skeleton Leaves
Fine Floral Photo Adornment
Frame Round Ornate

I painted all but the leaves with different Color Glow powders.
The Color Glows leave such a stunning shine on the chipboard.

I cut the frame in half and tiered them amongst the layers.

Placing the Mandala behind the winged beauty, added depth and a halo like feel. I added white Gesso as a finishing touch to add detail and interest.

The leaves were left raw, with only the White Gesso giving them some dimension and character. These I also bent a little to give lift and curve. Hard to see in the photo sadly.

The delicacy of the photo adornment softened the overall concept.
Adding that touch of whimsy and femineity.

I do hope my page inspires you to get crafty.

Till next time, Em xx

'Be big as the Journey is small' - by Emma Zappone

Hello everyone,

Em with you today and I have an 8x8 canvas to share with you.
It has Steampunk vibes.

And here are the chipboard pieces used....

12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frames
Steampunk Gears Medium
Steampunk Gears small
6" Circle Zipper Frame set

I trimmed the medium Clock face to create an 'edge' to place on the base of my layers on the canvas.

The clock and the zipper frame both have the same finish. It started with a mix of complimentary colours in distress oxides, and then finished with a clear emboss.

The gears are painted with an acrylic ink in burnt sienna and raw sienna.
I love how these sit nestles into the flower clusters.

The small elements really add to the completeness of the project.

I hope you enjoy this share and get inspired by some of the elements.

Have a great weekend and I will catch you all again soon.

Till then, stay Crafty
Em xx
