"Love to Pose" by Amy Voorthuis

 Goodmorning 2Crafty friends,
So glad you are visiting this amazing blog, I really love creating with beautiful chipboard
pieces like these. For today I have another 12 by 12 layout as those are my favorites to make.
This time I made one with a lovely picture of our Abbey posing and being silly in the grocery store with her own cart. For this layout I have used some 49 and Market papers and lots of pink.

You know what's amazing, you can order directly from the
2Crafty website here so you can also play with their amazing chipboard pieces

Love to Pose:

2Crafty Chipboard used:
Foliage Set 11
Aged Film Strip Set
Maggie's Swirls
Love to Pose

On this layout I again stitched around the edges. The maggie swirl & the phrase are treated with some white gesso, some embossing powder and waxes. I just loved making this layout as it was totally inside my comfort zone.

The film strip & foliage set are also treated with some white gesso, but then I used some matte acrylic paint and waxes to make it look like it was aged.

"Autumn Delight" Mixed Media Canvas by Amy Voorthuis

 Hello creative friends,

Today it's my second time this month to bring you some inspiration. For this occasion I created a 12 by 9 inch canvas autumn inspired. I really love making a project inspired by a moodboard and such, I used the same picture as the first layout I created being on this amazing design team. It's one of our Abbey playing in the leaves

Autumn Delight

2Crafty Chipboards used:
Leafy Xmas Frame
Autumn Leaves
ATC Word Banner Set 1
Mini Title Stick Set 1
Mini Word Set 3
Fine Word Set - Months

I have used several techniques on my mixed media canvas & chipboard pieces. The words "Delight" & "November" I inked with a brown/cream ink pad and after that I aded one layer of just white embossing powder. The word stick & ATC banner I just left I only added some rusty brown wax around the edges.

On the Leafy Xmas Frame I used three different kind of sprays and when those were still wet I added two different embossing powders randomly not covering the whole piece then I used my heat tool. On the leaves I added some white gesso and also three sprays but just left them to dry naturally.

Cheeky I Love You by Amy Voorthuis

 Hello sweet 2Crafty friends,

For today I am going back in time a little because when the new "Beauties" collection arrived at my doorstep I really needed to use a baby picture of Abbey with this amazing phrase by 2Crafty Chipboard. "I love you more than the sun the moon and all the stars" the phrase was treated with two layers of white gesso and then some white embossing powder the same as I did with the word cheeky. I also separated the phrase in four pieces to make it more the focal point on my layout next to my picture.

Cheeky I Love You:

 2Crafty Chipboard used:
Foliage Set 10
I Love You More Than Title
Fancy Set 1 Borders `
Mini Word Set 4

The leaves are treated with one layer of white gesso and then with some spray which I added three times and I used a whipe to take away the excess and dried with a heat tool. I did the same with the border piece.

The flowers are handmade with some new dies I just purchased. I also did a bunch of fussy cutting for this layout. On the background I did a lot of machine stitching and I used a stencil & added some nuvo drops on the stencil.

"A Moment With You is Magical"
by Amy Voorthuis

 Hi there 2Crafty fans.
I am excited to show you my newest layout, for this one I used the color yellow which I don't
use that often. But when I got my new 2Crafty chippies I knew exactly which ones I wanted
to use & with what paper collection I was going to use it.

The picture is a oldie and I wanted
to use it since we are going to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary next month.

A moment with you is magical:

2Crafty Chipboards used:
 Fine Word Set 2
Frame Fine Circle with Butterflies
11"Fine Floral Frame Set
Foliage Set 6
A Moment With You

All the chipboard pieces are treated with gesso and "purely white"embossing powder,
then I added a layer of wax with two different colors {rusty brown and old white}, on the
foliage pieces I added some green matt acrylic paint and on the little circles I added gold pearlecents.

I did some machine stitching around my picture, and also used some pretty flowers, rub-ons, wishing bubbles and did a lot of fussy cutting from the "sunflower" collection by ScrapAndMe.
At the end I added some frozen jack frost & shimmer spray.

I also added some rub-on words & three beautiful butterflies made by my very talented friend Renea Harrison. Thank you so much for your visit and I hope to see you next time.

Autumn in New England
"Including a little Technique Tutorial"
By Jennifer Snyder

Autumn In New England
Hi.  Jennifer Snyder here today.
This is a layout I created based on a photo I took in Vermont, USA, a few years ago.
My father-in-law lived in Vermont and each time I visited, I was enchanted with this
church that everyone must pass upon entering into town from a certain direction.
It appears like a welcoming beacon for travellers and a symbol of home for residents.

One Autumn day as we were driving into Bennington,  Vermont, the sky was perfect and the trees were at near peak in Autumn glory.  I asked my husband to pull over and I jumped out to snap a few shots.  In order to get the best shot, you have to stand in the middle of the road.  Thank heaven it was early morning before church got started.
This page was created using the Nov.  Kit for the Flying Unicorns .

2Crafty Chipboard Used
2Crafty Chipboard "Autumn Leaves "
2Crafty Words "Nothing Beats a Father's Love"
2Crafty "Winter Twig Branches"

2Crafty's chipboard "Autumn Leaves" were absolutely perfect for my project.
I'll show you how I altered them.

First I painted the leaves with gesso to prime them.  After drying, I misted with
13Arts Ayeeda mist in Yellow.  I sprayed them a few times to darken in spots as needed.
I did not blot them dry - I used the heat gun to dry them.

Next step,  I added some embossing powder to give them some crinkled texture.

Below is a page that shows the "Autumn Leaves " and  "Winter Twig Branches"
nicely inserted into a cluster of  paper leaves, floral berries and flowers.
The  "Winter Twig Branches" were simply stained with orange ink.

I decided to leave the  title, "Nothing Beats a Father's Love "
as a natural chipboard piece with no finishing.

The chipboard on the left matches nicely with the paper leaf I made.

I love showing dimension in my photos if I can get a decent shot.  It really shows the depth of the page and how wonderfully the chipboard is on the page up close adding nice pops of texture, dimension and interest.

Thanks so much for visiting today.
