"Summer Days"
Layout
with Amy Voorthuis

Good morning lovely 2Crafty friends.

How great of you all to stop by the 2Crafty blog, this is my first layout for the month of August. I am so glad I have my mojo back I bought a lot of papers lately which I didn't need too, since I have lots of papers lol... but I know every scrapbooker & mixed media artist wants to have the newest lines if can. This layout is also a summery one with some of the newest prima papers and a bunch of my favorite 2Crafty Chipboard pieces.
Enjoy my post....

Summer Days:

Beautiful 2Crafty Chipboard pieces used:
Fine Stem Frames
Seagulls
Palm Leaves Set
Summer Days
Mini Word Set 2
Flourish Set 5
Seaweed Set
Seashells Set 2

All the 2Crafty Chipboard pieces are treated with my big pot of white gesso. Then I used a couple of my aqua/alcohol twin markers for all my pieces but the word "adore" on that one I used some white embossing powder.

The design I did for this layout is one of my own I made a couple of years back when I was in the 49 and Market design team. I sometimes love to look at my old scrapbook layout to get inspired from but not only mine but all creative souls there are in this industry.

Hope you all enjoyed my post thank you so much for stopping by, I will be back with another project soon hope to see you back then....

"Love You Sweetheart"
Layout
with Amy Voorthuis

Goodmorning lovely 2Crafty friends,
I am so happy you stopped by the blog today, and again I used a picture of our lovely Abbey when she was a cute little baby, I sometimes miss that time & think how fast it went by. A while back I bought some amazing papers by Alchemy of Art and I finally got to use it they coördinate so well with the 2Crafty Chipboard as most papers do. Enjoy my post.....

Love You Sweetheart

Gorgeous 2Crafty Chipboard used:
Berry Vine Set
Fine Word Set 1
Fine Stem Frames
One Love Title
Mini Branches
Sweet Moment

Like my last layout I did some fussy cutting here for the pretty flower. I really love the blue & the greens in this collection so I altered the chipboard pieces that way too. The amazing Berry Vine Set & Mini Branches are treated with some white gesso and matt chalk polish by Creative Expressions.

For the frame and words I used my aqua/alcohol markers again I so love using those. In the end I used some matt white wax to age it a little.

Hope you all enjoyed my post thank you so much for stopping by, I will be back with another project soon hope to see you back then....

So Much Fun by Amy Voorthuis

Hello fellow creative souls,

I am so excited that you are here with us today as I bring you some inspiration with a picture from our summer vacation trip to Greece. On this vacation my husband & son went diving and they saw so many beautiful things underneath the sea that I had to scrap this picture. I used a variety of beautiful chipboard pieces to make my layout.

So Much Fun:

 2Crafty Chipboard used:
Fine Stem Frames
Seashells Set 2
Seaweed Grass Set 1
So Much Fun
Intricate Seahorses
Fishing Net Bits

All the chipboard pieces are treated with one layer of gesso at first, the on some pieces the frames & fishing net bits I added rust paste and  then some acrylic paint & some waxes. The rest of the pieces are just treated with a bunch of different color waxes {with a brushing technique}

To finish off my layout I added some cheese cloth behind my picture and behind some flowers but also I used some sprays & art stones

Thank you so much for your visit today and if you would like to see more of my work please visit here:

'Mildred' - By Emma Zappone

Hello there, Emma with you today.
Today's layout is rich in layers and awesome chippy.

Check out the chipboard pieces i used here....

Aztec Arrows set 1
BeeYOUtiful set
Fine Stem Frames

For this project I chose to cut up the arrows and the frames to fit in and around my layers.

I love how you can mix and match all the chipboard pieces. And I love how you can really extend the chipboard by cutting them, just like these frame pieces.

All the finishes on the chipboard are acrylic paint and a variety of waxes to compliment.

I hope this project has encouraged you to try something new with your chipboard pieces.
I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Stay 2crafty friends, Emma.

#Blessed - with Emma

Hi 2Crafty friends, Emma here today sharing a layout with Autumn tones.
I thought this a relevant colour scheme as here in Aussie land we have just started
our autumn season, which I must admit I love.

Here is my layout and the Chipboard pieces I used.....

2Crafty Chipboard Used:
Corner Retro
Mini #Word Set
Fine Stem Frames
Fern Leaf Set
Leafy Silhouettes

The frame I tried a few different finishes to get the final look.
First I coated it in 2 different oxides, then clear embossed it and then finally
went over the dry emboss with ink and oxide again to get the desired rustic old look.

The Leafy Silhouettes and Retro corner I applied a rust paste and then dabbed over them with Dylusion inks to compliment the colours in the layout. Finally on these I added a clear emboss, deliberately missing sections to add a contrast from glossy to matte.

I really like this distressed look.

I liked it so much I did the same thing with the Fern leaves.
They look so striking against the paper elements.

With the title I decided to emboss an orange powder over a black ink. This contrasted again from the other chipboard as well as complimenting the photo. Standing out on its own. Again not opting for the perfect finish but just letting the powder adhere where it needed.

I love scrapping imperfectly as this is what I am, and, if I tried to make every art piece perfect I would never finish a project. Don't get me wrong, I can be quite the perfectionist when I need but I really like the look of something finished but imperfect just as much. I feel it adds personality, a touch of me. #imadethis

I hope you enjoy and are just a little inspired by my layout.
I look forward to seeing you all again next month.

Till then, Em xx

Sweet Squirrel - With Emma

Hi 2Crafty friends, Emma sharing with you today.
Today's inspo is a page that has been created for a guest design over at CSI
that 2crafty is sponsoring this month.

Here is the chipboard I chose to use.....

Wild Flower Set
Fine Stem Frames
Leafy Silhouettes

This is a very cute whimsy challenge and I couldn't wait to use this fun squirrel image.
I coated the wild flower chippy in a distress oxide and then stamped a flower image over the top to add more texture. Very simple but effective.

For the leaves I coated in another oxide ink but then rubbed a metallique wax over the top to give it shine.

The frame I decided to spray with a black shimmer ink and the effect was perfect for the layout, simple but a standout.

I solved this CSI case by choosing the colour scheme from the scene and used the inspiration of the woodland creatures for my image photo.
From the evidence I used a border (chipboard) leaves (chipboard) splats, mushrooms, string.
I also created a Haiku for the testimony or Journaling feature.
It reads.....
Sweet Squirrel Laughing
Collecting Nuts for Winter
Cheeky Sounds Above.

Thanks for visiting the blog today and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
I highly recommend having a play over at CSI and see how you can solve the case too. Plus plenty of inspiration over there.
Don't forget to check 2Crafty to find your local stockiest also.

Catch you all soon, Em xx

April Inspiration by Debbie

Hi everyone!
Debbie here with you today to share my April projects for 2Crafty Chipboard!

"Happiness Is This"

Since it is Spring here where I live and some of the bushes and flowers are blooming,
I wanted to create a colorful layout.  I used a picture of my friend's daughter from a
few years back.  Thought the picture was the perfect fit for the title. I applied some
roses with a stencil to the background and some pink mist.

2Crafty Chipboard Used:
happiness is this
Fine Stem Frames
Flourish Adornment Set 3

On both sides of the photo I used the Flourish Adornment Set 3. I normally like to emboss the chipboard pieces on my layouts, but used a different technique for this layout.  I covered them with gesso and then colored them with a light green mousse and a sprinkling of green glitter.

.
I cut apart the smaller frame from the Fine Stem Frames set, covered it with gesso and
them applied some pink peony mousse and placed the pieces among the flowers.

Love the dainty title.  I covered it with gesso and applied pink peony mousse.

My next layout was inspired by the picture I used, which I found on Pinterest.

"Timeless"

I misted the background paper and applied several stamps, some masking and paint splatters.

2Crafty Chipboard Used:
Butterfly Flourish
Fine Word Set 2
Element Set 1
Mini Flourish Bits

I love the details in the Butterfly Flourish! I embossed it with purple and
gold and added some gold micro beads for dimension.

To the left and right of the picture I placed pieces from the Mini Flourish Bits.  I
embossed them with a mixture of purple and gold embossing powders and added
 some gold mico beads.

Above the picture I used a piece from the Element Set 1, embossed with a
mixture of purple and gold embossing powders.

The title timeless is from the Fine Word Set 2.  I embossed it with some
light purple embossing powder.

I hope that I have inspired you.
I'll see you next month!
