'Don't be Defined' by Emma Zappone

Hello 2Crafty friends.
Emma here with you today, with a small 8x8 layout. It is a little busier than some of my previous layouts, but I love the texture this page has delivered.

The image I had chosen for this project, had lots of fabric flowers and colour. I wanted to enhance these by the use of the chipboard and fabric elements from my stash.
But lets check out the chipboard elements first....

Charlotte Flowers
6" Mandala No. 5
Fine Floral Corner Set

All the chippy for this project were painted with acrylic paint. Different colours to compliment the image and the concept of the page.

The Mandala is painted with a stunning purple to showcase some of those hues from the image.

The Fine Florals have been cut into 3 pieces and painted in a pink to start with.

Then once they were all in place, I added some white gesso, just lightly to add a little interest to the design.

The final chippy used were the Charlotte flowers, these are tucked in amongst the flower clusters.
Again these were painted with an acrylic, in a beautiful yellow to set off against the blues and purples.

I hope this page inspires a little today.

I will catch you all again soon,
Em xx

'Fairy Tales are never Far' by Emma Zappone

Hi everyone, Em with you today.
Today's project is a little different, a bit of an 'EYE' opener I guess, hehehe!

I have 4 different chipboard elements on this page, some prominent and others as layers.

Field Mushrooms
Funky Flowers
Fine Leaf Stems
6" Mandala No.5

I just LOOOOVVVVEEE the Mushrooms!
I painted this one with a couple of different liquid acrylics to match the awesome image,
and then added gold acrylic on the spots on the tops of the mushrooms.
Once dry I added a clear emboss to make it all pop.

The funky flowers were primed with black gesso and then had a script stamp with white ink stamped over the top, subtle but perfect for layering.

The Mandala has lots of layers starting with a prime of Black gesso, 2 different emboss powders, a pigment powder and finished with a clear emboss. Then I added eye balls.

The larger eyes were a little more work. These were placed on the Leaf stems. I cut this chipboard piece up into 4, focusing on the leaves. I embedded the eyes onto them with some paper paste and allowed them to dry. Then I added the liquid acrylics. Finishing it all off with with a glaze.

I really enjoyed creating something a little kooky & different.
And I hope that it inspires you a little too.

I will catch you all again later in the month.
Stay Crafty, Em xx

"Cherished Family Memories"
Layout By Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

I present to you my first inspiration of this month of August.
The warmth of the summer inspired me to create a dynamic and colorful layout.

With a family photo taken this year for my son and daughter-in-law’s birthday.

"Cherished Family Memories"

The 2Crafty Chipboard Used:

- Word "Cherished Family Memories"
- 6 Inch Mandala N°5
- Sharon's-Butterflies

As always a layer of white gesso on each chipboard.

The background of my paper being essentially pink it was necessary to find a color
in harmony to embellish the chipboards.
I hesitated a lot, but I dared the yellow color.

I cut the "Mandala" chipboard before putting it under my photo like a beautiful sun.

I embellished each panel with Lindy’s Gang "Sunset Yellow Orange" embossing powder,
I had to apply several layers to get a strong yellow.

On the butterflies I added a few touches of black ink as well as a darker yellow.

I have arranged my layout according to the title, it is flashy and deserves to be in plain sight.

The rose being still very predominant I added some yellow embellishments.

Now I’m done, I hope you won’t feel any pain in your eyes
and that my choice of chipboard will inspire you!

Thank you very much and see you soon.
