Grateful
by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty fans!

I hope everybody is well and holding up in these very special times. On my side, my family and I are adjusting alright and we do consider ourselves lucky to be together and healthy. We're taking plenty of time to learn new crafts, discover new hobbies and realize lots of experiments with our kids. It's also our very first homeschooling experiment and they seem to enjoy it so far.

Today, I'm presenting you a layout I made this week after we went outside on a sunny day for a bit of exercise (we're allowed to go outside for exercise as long as we stay at least 2m from people living outside our home).

I've also prepared a video to show the various techniques I used to prepare the elements in my layout:

"Grateful"

For the "6" Mandala 1", I applied a coat of black gesso then used my finger to apply a purple wax. Then I used an embossing tool to dry it.

With the "Leafy Silhouettes", I used a teal metallic paint and traced the borders with black ink.

On the "Lace Heart Frame", I used a black sandy embossing powder and then dabbed some yellow embossing ink on top.

For the title, "Grateful script", I used metallic red paint.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:
6" Mandala No.1 [M00790]
Leafy Silhouette [M00498]
Lace Heart Frame [FR0087]
Grateful -Script [W00510]

That's all for me today! I hope you've enjoyed this and I'll be back soon with more inspiration to share with you. Until then, stay safe!

Stay Curious - Altered Canvas
By Karan Gerber

HI Friends welcome to the 2 Crafty Chipboard Blog today.
It is Karan Gerber here hosting the blog and I have na altered canvas to share with you.

I was rummaging through some old kits this week and came across some older
Graphic 45 Curiosity Shoppe papers and stickers (remember that collection) I
thought it would be perfect for a project, so here is what i have for you today.

"Stay Curious"

I just love using clocks, and cannot get enough of them. Our lives are run by a clock,
our work day, our appointments; when we sleep and when we rise, when we eat; all
determined by the those little hands on the clocks! that is why I love using clocks!

I wanted to use the geometric arrows as a clock hand but the glass bottles were
already glued on so I turned them on their end and love that.

Some detail images......

 Until Next Time: Happy Scrapping!

"Remember Moments"
By Karan Gerber

Hi Friends and welcome to the 2 Crafty Blog Today!
Its Karan Gerber hosting the blog and I have a layout to share with you.

I am doing a quick share tutorial with you as well and you will find that
below the first few images!  But first here is my project...

"Remember Moments Like This"

The "Leafy Shrubs" are great to use to enhance flowers on your
projects and I have used them here.

The "6 inch Mandala" I cut in half and used half as a layer here as I
would normally use paper, it gives it some great dimension and texture.

The "Light Bulb Word" was covered in rust paste and I tucked it
in my flower clusters in the upper corner.

Here is a quick walk through this project,
I hope you have enjoyed my project today.

Find Yourself - With Emma.

Hello 2Crafty addicts.
Emma here with you all today.
Today's share is a soft yet spacey vibed layout.

Find Yourself

Here is the chipboard pieces I chose for this page.....

Flower Doilies
Corner Retro
6" Mandala No.1
Mini Word Set 1

I have been putting myself under a lot of pressure lately and felt I was over doing it on my pages. So with this one I decided to keep It more simple.

All the chippy I used this time I primed with either a black or white gesso.
So for this beautiful Mandala I rubbed over it with a Prima Wax once the gesso was dry. But I didn't want to cover it completely in wax, so when rubbed with a finger it allows for the base colour to pop through. Giving contrast.

For the Retro Corners I painted gesso and then once that was dry I painted over it in an acrylic metallique paint. look at all that shine.

For the Flower Doily I applied the same principle as the Mandala, but went heavier with the wax, this time full coverage.

And finally for the 'Capture' word, I simply applied wax to the chipboard, no gesso for this and it still worked perfectly. That is why I love 2Crafty chipboard, every medium works beautifully on it.

And that's this page done.
It brought me a lot of joy to create this piece, feeling more true to me.

I hope it inspires you in some way?

I'll catch you all very soon, till then happy scrapping :)
Em xx

"This is Me' by Rachael Funnell

Hello 2 Crafty fans!
Rach with you sharing my second bit of  January inspiration,
this layout featuring ME and some GORGEOUS 2Crafty chipboard pieces....

2Crafty Chipboard Used...
6" Mandala 1
Autumn leaves
12" Boho floral arrow
This is Me (title)
Light bulb word set
Winter leaves

I've used some Mintay papers, next I added some stamping on my background.....
Then inspired by my layout from earlier in the month, I've used the Rose Gold beewax
paste again. Applying the paste by using my finger to apply to the 6" Mandala
& a few of the Autumn and Winter leaves

The rest of the chipboard pieces I started with by giving them coats of gesso...
The title This is Me has three coats, letting each coat dry before applying the next coat!!!

The 12" Boho floral arrow & Moment Light bulb have a single coat of gesso,
then finished of the Boho floral arrow by colouring in the flower with Peach & guava
gelatos AND the peach gelato around the edge of the bulb....

Thanks for stopping by & I'll be back next month with more...   x
