"Waiting for Santa" Layout by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

Christmas is fast approaching. 

On this occasion, I present to you my second inspiration from this month of December. A Christmas-themed layout, illustrated by a photo of my grandson Milan who will celebrate his very first Christmas.

With magnificent chipboards including this model "bauble-deer-frame".

For this layout, I chose a white watercolor paper background, which I then decorated with transfer rubons. As usual, I first apply a layer of white gesso on each chipboard. I customize the "bauble-deer-frame" ball with printed paper, then I lightly color the edges with red ink. I particularly appreciate its design.

 

I also apply rub-on transfers on the chipboard 'fir-xmas-tree'. As the fir is wide, their use does not pose any difficulty. I found it interesting to stick over the chipboard 'retro-xmas-tree', which I had previously decorated with Distress Oxide inks 'vintage photo' and 'antique linen'. Now that I see it, I am of the opinion that I should have raised it.

I use the same method here. To create a contrast, I add balls with "Puffy Stickers".

The title has a slight shade of red diluted with water, while the mention "2025" is distinguished by a stronger hue.

''Christmas Time''

Which emblem makes you feel more like Christmas than the fir tree itself?

2 Crafty Chipboards I used:

-Christmas Time-title

-Corner sweet Holly

-Avery vines

-Fleur Arrows

-Mini flourish bits

I chose to place Avery vines, Mini flourish bits and Corner sweet holly to create

 a fir tree. I embossed under heat these chipboards in certain places to create of the texture.

I also put of the black distress on the sides of these chipboards

I embossed black Fleur arrows to create a focal point at the top of the fir tree, 

as a replacement of traditional star.

I also embossed in black ''Christmas time'' and I then wiped some ink 

in silver on the edges of the title.

''Merry Christmas''

Christmas also means wishes, cards. & 2crafty Chipboards offer an

abundance  of chipboards to make this happen.

On the first card, I embossed the small balls on the end of branches in red and I stuck 
on some, red dots. I left the holly natural and I painted the sentiment in white.

For the second card, I put some greenery under the winter twig branch and

 I embossed a stellar snowflake to put on the top of the ''tree''.

To decorate, I put badges and Birds in cork.

Christmas Cards By Jennifer Snyder

 Jennifer Snyder here to help get a start on the holiday preparations.

  Let's get some Christmas cards checked off that giant "to do" list as soon

 as possible so we can move on to baking and shopping ( and eating). 

Don't get bogged down with complicated cards that you know you'll never finish in

 time to send out.  Keep it simple and let 2Crafty help take the stress from this task.  

One more BONUS?  They are FLAT and easily go through the postal system without 

adding postal expense and frustration of fitting in an envelope.  Now THAT is important.  

No dimensional embellishments needed.  

Here's my suggestion for the the season...Keep it simple! Work smarter, not harder.  

2Crafty has an incredible line of Christmas and Holiday chipboard designs that will help achieve this.   The beauty of these pieces is that most can be used to embellish your cards and leave you with little else to do but simply pop the chipboard on the card and sign your name.  How easy is that!

OK so your card needs  a sentiment.  Yep - keep it simple.  I chose the 2Crafty
 "Christmas Mini Word Set #2" as my main sentiment.  It comes with 6 perfectly sized sentiments in the package, thus making 6 cards!  BAM - easy.  

I used the mini words on all my cards and kept it really convenient by merely inking them a rich vintage brown or green.  Nothing fancy.  No time for that when you're pushing out a bunch of cards within a deadline.

"Dotted Baubles"

Now on to card completion.   This is card #1.  Not fancy and yet so elegant. 
  That's because I let the chipboard do all the work for me.  This card just has
 a border strip of paper and ribbon/trim and the chipboard.   yep- simple.

I used the "Dotted Baubles" chipboard piece and I painted the little dots on the piece with gold, red and green paint, then coated them with Ranger Crackle Accent to make them pop.

Card 2

"Retro Xmas Tree"

This card is equally simple and quick to complete.   Ink the edges of your cardstock .  I used pre-folded cards and matching envelopes that came in a set because they are inexpensive and perfect , though folding your own cardstock is great too.  Just be careful that your card fits into a standard  envelope that you have handy.   Can't even tell you how many times I made cards without paying mind to envelope size.   Then I am totally out of luck.  

My chipboard was inked and painted with acrylic paint in red, green and gold.  I also topped some dots with glitter and Range Crackle Accents.

"Christmas Decorative Ornament Border"

"Fine Snowflakes"

This card looks fancier that it really is.   It has a few chipboard pieces layered  atop each other but that's it to the complexity.  The gorgeous focal piece I used on this card is the "Christmas Decorative Ornament Border" which is shown further down the page. 

This border piece is amazing, delicate and can easily be cut into several pieces to make multiple cards.  What value for your money!   Ink it brown, add red and green paint , some gold glitter on the star, plus a little Ranger Crackle Accents on the berries and this  chipboard piece is done.  

My gorgeous snowflake chipboard piece has a simple and subtle finish.  I painted 

it white and gently inked the tips brown so they didn't totally blend into the card.

Don't have paints and crackle products?  No worries. Just ink the whole piece a solid color and glue to the card that way.  Or leave the chipboard natural straight from the package.
  It's beautiful  "as is".  

Ho Ho Ho, keep it simple this year so that you can focus on the reason for the 
season and not let the little things in life bog you down.

Merry Christmas - Elena's Post

I want to start my Christmas post by saying MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you. I hope you enjoy your holidays. I'm here with you today  to show you my Christmas projects. This time I decided to try something new and to challenge  myself with some OTP projects, so here they are. My first project is a set of Christmas tags for my darling daughter  who demands me to be creative and prepare something new for  her every  year.  I didn't want to make a simple Christmas Card  so I thought I would  make some tags for her instead.  

When I received my recent package of 2Crafty Chippies,  she looked through them and told me,  ''I want this, that and that one in one card". It was a little difficult   to combine all 3 large chippies in one place, so I have managed  to make 3 different tags for her.  

I decided to use acrylic sheets from Clear Scraps  to achieve some  transparency.  I love it when I see frosty trees outside .

   I primed Fir Xmas Tree with Gesso , then I stamped it with Crystals  Antiquites Embosssing powder and misted it with some Starburst inks. After that I added some bling, stars and added some  sprinkles of white acrylic paint

I glued it on to the acrylic sheet and here you can  see the back side of the tag.  

  I didn't change the back side of the chipboard as I wanted to add  some warm kraft color to the set. For the next tag I used Prancing Reindeers

I used the same techniques on the 2 pieces of chipboard  that come in the pack.  

and the smaller one......  

Next project is a shadow box.  (Keep in mind I had a task to use almost all Christmas  themed chippies for my DD decorations)

So I used another tree there  - Retro Xmas Tree  

I painted it with Green acrylic paint, covered it with texture paste,  daubed it with red ink and golden gouache, and added some  pearls and beaded thread to decorate the tree. I didn't want to much painting, as the papers from Meg's Garden are  very bright on their own. So I came back with heat embossing on my  next chipboard pieces.  

  I added texture paste on Mini Santa's Sleigh and embossed it with  Aged Mahagony and Golden embossing Distress powders.   I just covered the Fine Snowflake with golden gouache and  decorated it with the flower.  

  The last project that I traditionally share with you is made for  Manor House Creations. It is a Christmas Wreath.  

I used my  favorite fabric there - linen, then added many flowers and Corner Whispy Vines  

  I have misted  these  with shimmers and covered them slightly with gesso. The same technique was used on Ornament Sampler
