'Theodore' by Emma Zappone

Meet 'Theodore'.
He is a 'good little boy, curious looking, with a gentle nature.
This project was made on Book plates and is only a little bigger than 5x7 inches. I love how it has become this slightly messy, vintage, worn project. A lot of care and thought went into this, as it does with all my projects, but more so to bring Theodore to life.

And  here is the stunning chipboard I used to make the story come alive.....

Window Shutter Set 1
Clock Face Discs
Steampunk Gears small
Geo Panel

I used all the small elements for this project which meant that I cut up the Geo panel to just tuck in and around the photos and it's layers.

For the gorgeous Window Shutter, I first cut the shutters off and used them off of the sides of the project. I then painted it with a brown acrylic paint first as a primer and then added some texture paste through a stencil to give it a weathered look. I added inks and sprays to it once dry. With a little wax and white paint at the end, it really gave a old worn look that I just love.

The smallest Clock Disc and the small Gears were kept raw to start with. With a little bit of wax, I enhanced them and then dry brushed ink and colour over the top, this made them unique.

I do really love the story telling that my art is allowing me to play with right now. This image is by an artist named Lisa Aisato who I found on Pinterest, she draws beautiful story book characters. I just love the feel of these characters, they totally inspire me.

I love how the chipboard adds to the story and the vintage vibe it gives. Maybe they are pieces that would not normally match but I do love how they all work on this project.

Thanks for joining me again today. I hope you have a creative day and I will see you all again soon.
Em xx

'I know I'm Home' - with Emma Zappone plus bonus VIDEO

 Hello!! It's January 2022!!
Hope you all had a safe and happy new year!
I hope I can inspire you with my first 2Crafty project and video for the year.

I have realized over the past year or so that I love the vintage vibe. So this year my goal is play to that theme but with my twist on it. This layout has a Vintage feel with a grunge twist.
Beautiful chipboard helps too. Here are the pieces featured....

Flower Doilies
Steampunk Strips
Decorative Geo Panel

I again kept the finishes simple. The Geo panel was primed with black gesso to start with. Once dry,  I applied a wax to add highlights over sections so that it popped against the background colours and the paper layers that would sit on top.

The Doily and Steampunk Strips were painted with crackle paste and once dry a purple Oxide was applied to the top. Then I made them shine more with a coating of Clear emboss powder.

I love how the colour hasn't completely covered the white crackle. It adds to the vintage/aged feel.

You can see all my finishes and how this layout came together in my process video.

I know I have said it before, but I will say it again, and that is why I just love how the chipboard interacts with all other embellishments. Super versatile.

Enjoy watching the video here....

Stay safe, stay crafty, Em xx

April Inspiration projects by Jaya Raghuvanshi

Hello 2Crafty fans!

Hope you all are doing great.. Well, I want to share something with you all. Today is my last post here. I have had the most amazing two years with the fabulous team at 2Crafty chippies. I really hope you liked all my the layouts and tutorials I made for 2Crafty. I hope you will continue to remain in touch with me on my social media accounts.

So, today I have a few layouts to share with you all. Hope you like them

"Happiness"

Some close ups-

The Pointed doily frame chipboard is so so gorgeous! I covered this chipboard in white paint and then lightly added some teal watercolor to it and lightly stamped on it using black archival ink. It adds so much beauty to this page here.

I  also used the Tahnya's border chippie and painted it in white and teal. I added some texture to it using art stones.

The Line words are one of my favourite chippies. You should get them all! They look just fabulous running across the page and they go along with all styles of scrapbooking.
