"memories"
Layout and video by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

I’m always so happy to share a new project with you!
Today I’m sharing a brand new scrapbook layout, and I also created a video tutorial to
 show you the full process.
This page features beautiful chipboards, especially the “pointed-doily-frames”, which I find
incredibly romantic and perfect to highlight newborn photos.

The pictures are recent and show my grandson Milan, just a few days after his birth, with his mom.

"memories"

I made a video tutorial that you can watch HERE.

The chipboard used:

As always, I start by applying a layer of white gesso to my background. This helps prepare
the surface and gives a softer finish once the inks are added.
To embellish my chipboards, I used Distress Oxide inks, applying them in light layers to
keep a natural and vintage look.

For the “pointed-doily-frames”, I started with Antique Linen as a base color over the entire frame.
Then I added Frayed Burlap on both the inside and outside edges to create depth and bring out the details.

Finally, I added a few touches of Vintage Photo in some areas, mainly in the raised parts and small details, to add contrast while keeping a soft romantic finish.

For the “dainty-foliage” chipboards, I also used Distress Oxides, keeping the colors light and delicate: Antique Linenfirst, then small touches of Victorian Velvet and Rustic Wilderness to create subtle tones that match the paper collection beautifully.

When it came to the design, I first positioned my photos to create a balanced composition.
I used three frames to build a triangle visual design:
the main photo in the large frame at the top as the focal point,
a smaller frame at the bottom left,
and a larger frame at the bottom right.
This arrangement helps guide the eye across the entire page.

To add dimension, I glued some elements flat and raised others with 3D foam tape, creating layers and depth. I tucked the foliage and paper embellishments underneath the main frame, mostly on the left side, to fill the space while keeping the layout light and airy.

The word “memories” was inked the same way as the frames, using the same colors to keep everything cohesive. I love how beautiful it looks and how perfectly it highlights the emotion of this layout. I placed it in a way that connects the top frame to the bottom frames, reinforcing the overall structure of the page. To finish, I added a few small details like butterflies and shiny accents to bring a soft final touch.

This layout is created with the gorgeous 49 and Market – “Nostalgic Memories” paper
collection, which I absolutely love for its vintage feel and soft colors.

If you’d like to see how this layout was created, I invite you to watch the video tutorial.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the project!

Remember
by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty fans!

It's going to be our first summer since our new furry friend joined our family and he's already having a blast spending more time outside than he could during the cold winter months. He just loves sleeping in the shade and playing with the kids, especially when they're playing with water! Yesterday I took a picture of him after my daughter splashed him and it was just perfect for a new layout.

"Remember"

On the Dianne's doily set, I applied a coat of a red acrylic paint and used a
flowerish stamp with some sandy embossing powder.

On the palm set leaves, I used watercolor paint. I mixed a bit of blue and
lime colour to get the shade I was looking for.

On the intricate sea horses, I used blue embossing ink and added some
pearl embossing powder on top of it.

For my title, I applied a sandy black embossing powder very roughly,
so we can see the grain of the chipboard.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:
Intricate Seahorses [M00702]
Palm Leaves Set [M00739]
Dianne's doily set [M00586]
Line words -Goodtimes borders [DB0096]

That's all for me today!
I hope you enjoyed my layout and it gave you some inspiration for your own creations.
I'll be back soon as my family and I are splashing into summer!

 See you soon!

Good Times by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty friends!

Today I have a new winter themed layout I would like to share with you as we enjoy
cold cold winter here in Canada! I took this picture with my son Liam and my
daughter Mila as we were working to build a giant snowman, just moments
before Liam ate the carrot we had kept for the nose!!

"Good Times"

For the women in the "Mini Family Icons", I've used rose-gold wax and inked the
contour with black ink. On the boy and girl, I used embossing ink and on the boy
I also added silver embossing ink. I also inked the contour of both.

I've applied charcoal paint on the "Mini Branches" and a teal glaze on top.

On the "Clock Face Discs", I've applied blue-white embossing enamel.

For the title, "Line Words - Goodtimes Borders", I've cut out the "Goodtimes" and
shortened the lines connected to the first and last letters. Then I applied
silver wax and inked the contour with black ink.

That is all for today! I hope my layout gave you some inspiration for your own.

I wish you a nice hot chocolate if it is as cold where you ar
e as it is cold here (otherwise enjoy the weather for us)!
See you in February for my next reveal.

February inspiration and Video by Jaya Raghuvanshi

Hello 2Crafty fans!

I have a few pages using the gorgeous 2Crafty chipboards to share with you all this month.
Hope you like them.

My first page is this layout

"A Wish Come True"

Handdrawn hearts is one of my most favourite frames. I love how delicate they are.
For my page here,I covered the frame in teal chalk paint .

Some close ups-

I covered my title chipboard with white gesso and colored the rest of the chippies in watercolor.
I really love the dandelion chipboards. They look so beautiful in that cluster.. don't they?

My next layout is this watercolor page.

Close ups-

The feather chippie has been covered on white gesso and I used some watercolor to color it randomly not covering the whole chipboard piece.

I covered my chippies in white gesso and added color on the background chippie . I also added a lot of splatters to add interest.

January Layouts By Rachael Funnell

"Good Times"

Hi there everyone!
Rachael with you to share my January inspiration.....
First up I created this mixed media layout "GOOD TIMES"

These are the awesome 2 Crafty Chipboards I used:
Chained Heart Frame
Line words Borders - Good times
2016
Bird Set
Anchor

If you have stopped by the 2 Crafty blog to check out my projects before, you
would know how I like to come up with creative ways to use up those negative pieces...  😁

Well! I have also incorporate the negative pieces from the gorgeous
Lace Heart frames into my background of my layout, I have covered
them with gesso, then inked the edges to enhance those hearts..
.

I just love 💓 the details this Anchor has and didn't want to lose any of it so!
I have gave it just a very light coat of gesso....

The Chained Heart Frame, has a coat of gesso, then inked red....

Also I gave this Line words Borders - Good times, a coat of gesso...

The couple of bird's have a couple of layers of gesso.

You may notice that this bird has a hint of blue? Well I did originally think I would
ink the birds blue, BUT! Once I had placed it on my page, I felt that the bird blended
into the page too much, SO I added another coat of gesso...

I did the same to the 2016 chipboard piece, a coat of gesso then inked with blue,
but only a few dabs of gesso just to tone down the blue a little....

************
For my second layout I have gone with more pretty and
a little less mixed media.. 😉

"Year 6 Farewell"

For my second page I have used these 2Crafty Chipboard pieces:
Mini School Year Titles  (Year 6)
Beaded hanging Hearts
2016
Lattice Leaves
Mini word Set 2 ( Precious)
ATC - Tiny Butterflies
Elsa Frame
Whispy Dandelion

With the Whispy Dandelion it has two layers of gesso...

 Lattice Leaves....

The couple of Beaded hanging Hearts have a coat of gesso,
then inked with a Sea green color...

ATC - Tiny Butterflies have a coat of gesso & inked the edges black....
..

The Elsa Frame peeking out from underneath photo has a coat of gesso....

Also! inked with black ink is this 2016...

With both wording Year 6 (Mini School Year Titles) and  Precious (Mini word Set 2)
I have given them a coat of gesso and then inked half of the words/number for a two toned look.....

That's it for me this month!!
Thanks for stopping by
 😁💗
