'Sweet Soul'
with Lisa Amiet

Hello all!
It's Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you,
using some of the gorgeous frames available.

I have created a mixed media background on my base paper,
using stencils, stamps, and splashes of colour.

2Crafty Products used:

I have used one of the 'Vintage Keys',
that I have embossed in a weathered white,
and adhered one of the fussy cut ribbons from the papers.

I have also used one of the frames from the 'Mini Decorative Frame Set 1',
that I have embossed in lilac to match my colours.
I have adhered it to one side of my photo,
layered with fussy cut elements from the papers.

I have also used one of the frames from the 'Mini Decorative Frame Set 6',
which I have embossed in pale pink.
I have layered this one at the top of my page,
along with fussy cut florals and leaves.

Lastly, I have used one of the 'Fine Heart Borders',
which I have embossed in pale pink and cut into two pieces.
One piece has been layered with my frame.

The other I glued in a curved pattern under my photo,
leading to my title.

I hope that you like what I have created,
and that it inspires you in some way today.

Until next time!

May Inspiration with Elisa Ablett

"Embrace Today''

Hi 2Crafty lovers,

Elisa here from the design team with my first inspiration for May.
I am sharing with you my mixed media layout featuring loads of layers,
a distress foil technique
and a bit of an unusal colour scheme.

I don't do a lot of feminine layouts but when I do, I like to add
distressing and a bit of grunge.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard pieces -

Embrace Today - Title
Fine Heart border pieces
Leafy Twig Branches
Square Frames

Let's take a closer look at the chipboard featured on the layout !

For our first piece, the title - Embrace Today
I decided to do a two toned heat embossed technique.
Firstly you heat emboss with your black powder and while still
hot sprinkle your gold powder over the top and heat again.

The second pieces that I featured on my layout are 'Leafy twig branches'
These pieces are perfect for layering with your flower stamps.

I hand painted my chipboard in various colours to match my layout then
using a glue stick I rubbed glue onto the ends of the branches.
then layered gold foil flakes over the glue. Let dry, then using
a large stiff paintbrush - brush off the excess gold flakes.

I used the same distress foil technique with my layered square frames.

The last featured chipboard piece is a gorgeous very fine hearts border
which I inked very carefully with black ink. Perfect for adding depth and texture
to your borders.

That's it from me today,

Stay tuned for later in the month for my next post !

Hugs

Elisa xx

September Inspiration by Tammy Klingner

Hi 2 Crafties!!
Today I'm sharing a few layouts with you.
The first one is titled

 "Summer"

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:
"Line Words- Summer"
"Flower Doilies"
"Assorted Arrows"

I gave all the Chipboard a coat of gesso.
I left the "Flower Doily" like this and tucked it into my layers.
For my 'Summer' title from the "Line Words - Summer" pack I added some coffee!
Yep you heard correct - coffee!
You see I was scrapping away - not in my scrap room - and I'd forgotten my brown coloured spritzes, so I added some water to coffee to make a liquid mix and simply brushed this over the top of the title.
I love the colour and effect.
I did the same to the "Assorted Arrows"
Even the splashes and circles were created with the coffee.
I really love how the colours work with the turquoise, the white and the woodgrain.
My second layout is titled

"Enjoy"

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:
"Grid Bits:
"Fine Heart Borders"
"Winter Twig Branches"
"Mini Words Set 1"

I added gesso to the "Grid Panel", and applied it in a random fashion - I didn't want it to be totally white, I wanted some of the raw chippy to show through as I felt the colour tone worked well with the colours in my layout.
I added white gesso to the "Winter Twig Branches" and cut these into small pieces which created an arrow looking piece of chippy.
I coated the "Fine Heart Borders" with white gesso and then added some soft yellow ink to these.

I took the word "Enjoy" from the "Fine Words Set 1" and coated it in white gesso.
I then added some light blue ink to this.
I like the soft pastel look of this layout.
I'm sure many of you know I'm a big fan of bold, bright colour, so this was really different for me.
It's always fun to step out of your comfort zone every now and then!
I've got an extra layout to share with you this month.
It's titled

"She Lived Beauty"

It was created for a challenge site Scrap the Girls.
This month's challenge is a sketch and this was my take on it.
I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:
"6 inch Revolution Frames"
"Angel Wings"
"Spring Flower Bunches"
"Fine Word Set 2"

I applied a couple of coats of white gesso to the "Spring Flower Bunches".

I coated the "6 inch Revolution Circle Frame" with white gesso and then coloured it with some Mica Powders and water - I really love the rainbow effect this gives.
I painted the word 'beauty' from the "Fine Words Set 2" in black and then rubbed some Finnabair Opal Magic Acrylic Paint in Aqua/Rose to this.
It gives a gorgeous finish.
I also did this to the "Angel Wings".
I love how these colours pop against the black background.
So that's it from me for this month.
If you'd like to see more of my work you can head my blog.
