'Be Brave' by Emma Zappone

 Happy Wednesday everyone!
Today's 'Be Brave' Layout is full of layers, chipboard and dimension.

Here are the chipboard pieces chosen to create this page....

Corner Steampunk 4
Ornate Screen
Rose Set 1
Corner Steampunk 6
Scribble Flower Set

A selection of finishes on the chipboard. But mostly they started with acrylic paint on them.

The Steampunk Corners were trimmed accordingly and painted with a metallic silver acrylic.
Nothing else was needed on these striking corner elements.

The beautiful Ornate Screen was painted with a white shimmer acrylic, embossed with
a powder blue in an uneven way to 'age' it a little.

The Roses and the Scribble Flowers were painted in a soft coral acrylic with white emboss on the leaves, and in a random fashion on the scribble flowers which made the chippy take on a real
'Shabby Chic' vibe.

I love the chipboard pieces on this page as they were perfect to layer as well as lay flat
on the base sheet.

I'm so pleased with the amount of dimension I managed to create.
It's really hard to show all the dimension in the Photos.

I hope you like this creation and I hope you have a great day, see you all later in the month.

Stay crafty, Em xx

' Blood Sweat & Gears' layout
By Rachael Funnell

Hello Everyone!
Today I have my first share for this month...

This masculine/grungy layout featuring a photo
I captured last yr of my son, hubby & nephew...
And have incorparated  some awesome chipboard
pieces, including a few from the Steampunk range!!!

2 Crafty Chipboard I've used::

Steampunk cog strip
A Couple of medium stars from the stars pack
Tiny stars from ATC - Tiny Hearts & Stars
2019
a  couple medium Steampunk gears
Corner Steampunk 2
Blood Sweat & Gears

Starting with the perect title for this page
 'Blood, Sweat & Gears' & 2019
Both inked with black...

To incorporate the assortment of stars used for
the page I inked the ATC - Tiny Stars and
other sized stars with either black or brown.....

The base page used, already had a great steampunk cluster image
SO I decided to ink a the Steampunk Strip with a teal,
adhering it over part of the image, then finishing it with a
couple of the Medium Steampunk gears that I had inked blue....

Lastly the Corner Steampunk 2
I randomly inking this again with a brown & the
adding another Medium Steampunk gear
that I had inked blue..
Finalizing my layout with splattering of gold paint...

Hopefully I hve inspired you in some way
to create your next masculine page...
Take care & until next time!

Steampunk Inspiration with Trudi Harrison

"Steampunk Heart"

Hi Everyone,

Trudi back with you today sharing some more 2Crafty Inspiration.  I have been having lots of fun altering some of the new 2Crafty steampunk elements with Colour Blast mediums.

A combination of the new Medium and Small Chipboard Gears were added to a Prima Artifact and Relic Heart.  The chipboard gears that embellish were altered with Colour Shimmer Sprays; Dusty Charcoal, Leather and Deep Water.

Steampunk Gears Small
Steampunk Gears Medium

The altered heart was created with idea of framing it as wall art.. but then another idea came to mind -
A 3D Altered Book from a Paper Mache Mini Album.
With the altered heart used as embellishment for the front cover of the book along with lots of chipboard loveliness.

"Good Fortunes For You"

Steampunk Corner 3 were attached to either side of the opening.  A Steampunk Heart sits over the top left hand corner of the opening with the previously altered heart attached over the top.  Small and Medium Steampunk Gears have been layered over the the Steampunk Corners along with trimmed pieces of Chain Lengths.

A Chained Circle Frame adds textural detail to the background.
The inside cover was embellished with Vintage Clock Hands and Steampunk Gears.  Dusty Charcoal, Deep Water and Leather Shimmer Sprays were used to alter the chipboard elements.

The inside 3D effect was created by sticking the pages of the book together and then removing the middle section with a craft knife.
A Chain Circle Frame frames the decorative picture.  The movement of time in the picture reflected with a smaller Clock Face Frame and a combination of Steampunk Gears and Gears.
Shimmer Sprays were once again used to alter the chipboard - Leather with accents of Deep Water.

Some close- ups

Have a look at this awesome 'Corner steampunk' chippie. It is perfect for all your
grungy or masculine pages.  I think it went really well with the steam train picture.
I have some memories from my childhood when I travelled a couple of times in trains
and so I really wanted to scrap this picture.
This chippie has first been given a coat of gesso and later coloured with alcohol inks, sprays and oil pastels. Then I went ahead and stamped on it randomly and outlined a few margins using black pen.

I used the swirl chippie to give some movement to my page. I covered it with gesso first
and sprayed on it. Later I highlighted a few areas with oil pastels in a few areas.

The frame and Memories title chippie have been covered in black texture spray.

My next project is this mixed media canvas in 6x6 inch size.  This canvas
is dedicated to my love of beaches, sand and water!

 A few more close ups.

The "surfy waves" chippies were first coated with white acrylic paint. Then
I used my watercolor markers to colour and highlight them in a few areas.

The "love " Loopy font chippie has been given coat of gesso and mist.
 Then I added microbeads randomly.
The Handrawn hearts has been covered in pink acrylic paint and then I splattered gesso on it.
