PROCESS VIDEO with Tam

Hi 2Crafty Creatives!

Tam here today to share a layout and a PROCESS VIDEO!
It's titled:

"Find your Tribe"

This layout is full of rainbow colour and celebrates my girl and her recent trip to Canberra with the National Youth Science Forum.
A real honour and thrill for her, and a highly sought after experience.

I've created a PROCESS VIDEO so you can see exactly how to create that rainbow
 background and embellishments.

Here it is:

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Frames Flowers"
"Polaroid Assorted Frames"
"My Tribe Title"

I began by adding black gesso to the "Frames Flowers" and then I used white pen to create a stitched look.

This made a great contrast to the rainbow background.

To the  "My Tribe" title, firstly I removed the 'my' - it just suited the story better.

I then applied white gesso and used the same colour watercolours that I had used in the background to coat each letter.
Conveniently there were 5 letters and 5 colours.
This was just a fluke, but I had one of those YES moments when I realised it would work!

Finally, I added some black pen marks to highlight it and add to the fun feel of the layout.

I used three different sized "Polaroid Assorted Frames".
I coated them with white gesso and then again added watercolours.
This time I allowed them to bleed into each other.

I created one in full rainbow, which I attached on top of the photos, to draw attention to my girl.

I created one in blues and greens, and one in reds and oranges.
I made sure I placed them on their respective sides of the layout, so they went with the background.
This just creates flow.
If I'd placed them on the opposite sides they would have 'fought' with the background colour.

I again added pen marks to look like stitching.

There you have it!
A fun and vibrant layout that definitely suits a bunch of teenagers!!!

'Magical'
April Inspiration
with Lisa Amiet

Hello 2Crafty lovers!

It's Lisa here today to share some
2Crafty inspiration with you.

I have a layout that I have created

'Magical'

2Crafty Products used:
'Poppy's Ornate Frame'
  'Fine Words Set 2'
'Butterflies'

I have used some of the floral paper as a frame for my page.
I have then added some colour to my background.

I have used the 'Poppy's Ornate Frame' to frame my photo.
I have finished it in a pastel yellow paint.

I have then used one of the words from the 'Fine Words Set 2',
that I have also finished in the same yellow.

I have layered this over some tickets, under my frame.

I have also used some of the 'Butterflies', which I have finished
in a pale blue, and scattered over my page.

I hope you like what I have created,
and that it inspires you to get crafty today.

Until next time

Lisa

April Inspiration by new Design Team Member
Elisa Ablett

"Adore You"

Hi there 2Crafty friends !

Elisa here from the design team with my first post and inspiration as part of this fabulous team.

Here is a list of the 2Crafty products used -
Morrocan Bits
Sharon's Butterflies
Adore You Title
Film Strip medium

For the title - Adore You, I heat embossed it with
Colour Blast Black Charcoal Embossing Powder.

To add some texture to my background, I added the Morrocan Bits, heat embossed with Colour Blast Royalty Embossing Powder. I also added a couple of pieces to the top left and bottom right clusters of my layout.

Another great technique to cover chipboard is to ink your pieces with an ink pad and sponge dauber.

I love a chipboard film strip piece to add a vertical line to your layout. I heat embossed the
film strip with Colour Blast Black Charcoal Embossing Powder. I find the Ranger
embossing liquid dabber excellent in covering large pieces of chipboard.

To create my background, I stamped with a Prima flower stamp and handpainted
with water colour paints and a fine round paintbrush.

I also stencilled with black modelling paste through a new Aga Baraniak stencil.

💜💜💜💜💜💜

My second layout for this month is titled

'' Shine ''

Here is the list of 2Crafty products used -
Chevrons
Fine Words 2
Star Frames
Stars

I painted a few of the stars and chevrons with a lovely buttercream coloured paint
from Ceramcoat.  I also inked a few of the stars with black ink.

Once I inked a few of the stars and star frames with black ink, I used a quick and
cheap foiling technique that I discovered using a bostik glue stick, foil sheets
and a large stiff paintbrush. It creates a lovely distressed look to your foiling.

I painted the title chipboard piece very carefully as its quite fine, while
it was drying and pliable, I molded it around the large star frame.

I created the large background circle with my 8 inch circle gel plate and combination of a navy and buttercream paint. I also added some black ink around the edges of the circle and some stencilling.

I have a favourite technique at the moment which is adding scribbly writing around my frames.

I hope you have enjoyed looking through my first post, I know I feel incredibly honoured to be offered a position on this team full of so many talented people working with amazing products.

Make sure you leave me some love xx

Hugs
