Treasure: A Layout by Bec Genet

Hi all it's Bec here with my second layout for the month.
Today I have a shabby vintage layout for you, my favorite type of layout to make.

2Crafty Chipboard Used:
6" Clock Face Frames
Noah's Frame
Moroccan Bits
Lattice Leaves
Friendship Mini Word Pack

For the chipboard pieces 6" Clock Face Frames, Noah's Frame and Moroccan Bits I used Prima acrylic paint in Steampunk Copper then dry brushed some white gesso over the top.
I placed the Noah's Frame under the right side of the photo, and I cut the Clock Frame in half to go on the left side of the photo

I chose the word Treasure from the Friendship Mini Word Pack as my title and coloured it with white gesso, I did the same for the Lattice Leaves.

Tammy's first June Share

Good morning 2 Crafty lovers!
Tammy here today to share my latest 2 Crafty Chipboard Creation.
This one's titled :

"Crazy About You"

A layout celebrating my love for my gorgeous daughter.
For this layout, I wanted to challenge myself.
I am scared of purple!! It's my nemesis, my kryptonite. I struggle to use it.
Now before all you purple lovers get angry with me, let me explain.
For those who know my creative work, you will know I'm a huge COLOUR fan - the brighter, the better. BUT I tend to steer clear of purple. Lately I noticed that I had hardly any purple in my stash, so I recently purchased my 'go to' colour products in purple - Dylusions Ink Spray and Dylusions Paint.
Right, time to get over my fear, time to dive in, time to fall in love with purple!
But first let's start with the 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces used on this layout:
"Ava's Frame"
"Lattice Leaves"
"Crazy About You Title"
"Moroccan Bits"
"Starbright Snowflakes"

So I began coating the "Moroccan Bits" in white gesso and then added a few random sprays of Dylusions Ink Spray in 'Crushed Grape'.
I wanted this to have an ombre kind of effect, I didn't want it to be just one colour.

I placed these onto my background.
I then applied white gesso to "Ava's Frame" and added this to my page so that it circled my photos. I love how the flourish sits - it provided the perfect spot for me to add some clusters of flowers.

I also applied white gesso to the "Starbright Snowflakes". Once dry, I added clear Kindy Glitz for a gorgeous subtle glittering shimmer.
I haven't used this stuff in years, it looks perfect on the snowflakes - kinda looks like snow. So magical.
My daughter loves Winter and Snowflakes so these were just perfect to pop on the layout.
Some I snipped in half and adhered so they looked like they were trailing off the page.
Some I added into the clusters.
The glitter is so subtle, I hope it shows up on the camera.....

I painted the "Crazy About You Title" in black paint as I really wanted to add a strong contrast to the softer feel of the layout.
I then applied Dimensional Magic, which gives a beautiful glossy resin like finish.
I also added some black paint to the "Lattice Leaves" and poked these into the cluster of flowers.
So there you have it.....my first play with Purple. I think I did ok.
I'm really hoping we can be friends, in fact, I really hope we can be more than friends!!
Purple, I would love to LOVE YOU!
What have you done lately in your creating that challenged you and pushed you out of your comfort zone?
I'd love you to share that with me.
You can see more of my work over on my Blog HERE.
I'll see you later on in the month.

"Life is Wonderful"
by Tammy Klingner

Hi 2Crafty ones!
Tammy here today to share my latest 2Crafty creation.
It's titled:..

"Life is Wonderful"

A layout that celebrates a recent weekend away at the beach in an amazing house.
The best thing about it was that we were altogether..... you see we live across the other
side of the world from each other so having 3 generations hanging out in one place
was extra wonderful, and doing some of those everyday things together meant the world.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard on this one:
'Life is Wonderful' title
'Jenna's Frame'
'Beaded Hanging Heart Set'
'Moroccan Bits'

I painted both the 'Jenna's Frame' and the 'Life is Wonderful title' in
a couple of coats of white gesso, and then some white acrylic paint.

As the background was filled with so much colour, I felt the white was
grounding as well as being a great contrast against the black background.

I just love the script font for the title.
It's perfect for sitting on top of photos!

Between all the layers, I added in some 'Moroccan Bits'.
I painted them in black paint to go with the background.
I love the texture this gives to the layers.

I then added a teal colour ink to the hanging part of the 'Beaded Hanging Heart Set'.
I removed the heart and turned them on the side and added them in to the layers,
to create extra interest.
I really like how the circular shapes contrast well with the painted straight lines on the background.

Love all the glorious colour combined with the black background!!
Makes my heart happy!

So that's it from me today, I'll be back a bit later in the month to share another
2Crafty Chipboard creation. Until then I hope you make the time to do
something creative that makes your heart happy.

You can see more from me over at my BLOG.

April Inspiration by new Design Team Member
Elisa Ablett

"Adore You"

Hi there 2Crafty friends !

Elisa here from the design team with my first post and inspiration as part of this fabulous team.

Here is a list of the 2Crafty products used -
Morrocan Bits
Sharon's Butterflies
Adore You Title
Film Strip medium

For the title - Adore You, I heat embossed it with
Colour Blast Black Charcoal Embossing Powder.

To add some texture to my background, I added the Morrocan Bits, heat embossed with Colour Blast Royalty Embossing Powder. I also added a couple of pieces to the top left and bottom right clusters of my layout.

Another great technique to cover chipboard is to ink your pieces with an ink pad and sponge dauber.

I love a chipboard film strip piece to add a vertical line to your layout. I heat embossed the
film strip with Colour Blast Black Charcoal Embossing Powder. I find the Ranger
embossing liquid dabber excellent in covering large pieces of chipboard.

To create my background, I stamped with a Prima flower stamp and handpainted
with water colour paints and a fine round paintbrush.

I also stencilled with black modelling paste through a new Aga Baraniak stencil.

💜💜💜💜💜💜

My second layout for this month is titled

'' Shine ''

Here is the list of 2Crafty products used -
Chevrons
Fine Words 2
Star Frames
Stars

I painted a few of the stars and chevrons with a lovely buttercream coloured paint
from Ceramcoat.  I also inked a few of the stars with black ink.

Once I inked a few of the stars and star frames with black ink, I used a quick and
cheap foiling technique that I discovered using a bostik glue stick, foil sheets
and a large stiff paintbrush. It creates a lovely distressed look to your foiling.

I painted the title chipboard piece very carefully as its quite fine, while
it was drying and pliable, I molded it around the large star frame.

I created the large background circle with my 8 inch circle gel plate and combination of a navy and buttercream paint. I also added some black ink around the edges of the circle and some stencilling.

I have a favourite technique at the moment which is adding scribbly writing around my frames.

I hope you have enjoyed looking through my first post, I know I feel incredibly honoured to be offered a position on this team full of so many talented people working with amazing products.

Make sure you leave me some love xx

Hugs
