"Those Eyes That Smile" Layout by Marie Sabatier

 Hello everyone,

I present to you my first inspiration for this month of August. 

A layout inspired by this photograph of my grandson.

I really like scraping on themes, but in this context, my main goal is to highlight the decoration with embellishments, flowers and, of course, beautiful chipboards.

"Those Eyes That Smile"

The chipboard used:

First, I apply a layer of white gesso to each chipboard.

The "thin hexagon stacked frames" chipboard is ideal for matching the prints in the "Botanical Buzz" paper collection. It is embellished with Lindy's Gang "Café au Lait" embossing powder.

On the right side of my photograph, I created an embellishment cluster and added "Foliage Set 7" chipboards by inserting them on either side of the bouquet. I chose the color "Desert Moon Turquoise."

I love the close-up!

I think I made the right choice by choosing this title. 

It is simply covered with white gesso.

Floral Plaid Christmas Cardsby Tania Ridgwell

Hi there!

Tania joining you today to share the first of my DT projects for November. 
 I have created a set of Christmas Cards. 

2 Crafty Products Used:

*Fernlike Snowflakes

*Bush Nut Floral Clusters

*Mixed Fine Border Set

*Foliage Set 7

I created each of my card bases using the beautiful Paper Rose Christmas Plaid Collection.  I used Gold Leaf Paint to colour the Fernlike Snowflakes and Foliage Set 7 chippies pieces and once dry I added some Art Alchemy Red Paint to the Snowflake centres.  I used Art Alchemy Red Paint to colour the Bush Nuts & Mixed Fine Border chippies.  Once the Border & Bush Nut chippies were dry I randomly dabbed on some of the Gold leaf paint over them.  To construct each of the cards I added the Fernlike Snowflakes to each and then embellished them with fussy cut flowers and paper blooms.  I cut up one of the Borders, Bush Nuts & Foliage Set 7 chippies and tucked pieces into the fussy cut elements and blooms on each of the cards. I finished off each card with a Gold Foil Christmas Sentiment,

'Never Stop Believing' - by Emma Zappone

Hi there 2Crafty friends.
Em with you today with a small Mixed Media panel.

I painted all the chipboard pieces with some Color Glow powders, that left a beautiful shimmer to them.

Look at all that awesome shimmer!

I love the way these powders sit on the chipboard. These I chose not to prime first, so that the water that mixes with the powder, soaks into the chippy a little and mutes the colour but leaves all the shimmer.

I love the calmness this panel creates.

'ART' by Emma Zappone with VIDEO

Happy Friday!
Em with you today sharing an 8x10 Canvas titled 'ART'.
I found this super cool picture on Pinterest of  Salvador Dali and it inspired this project.

And it inspired me to create a video of it coming together too 😜

Lets start by talking about the finishes on everything but the butterfly.

The clock, foliage and circle flowers all started with a coat of black gesso.

And then finished off with a wax. Some had a silver finish and others a gold or bronze.
But the Butterfly was different.

These can be used as a 2 piece. So I started with painting the bottom solid layer with a coat of white gesso, which once dried, added some black script stamping. Once that was applied, i added a lovely dusting of clear emboss powder.
Then bending the wings ever so gently of the 'cut' butterfly which had a wax finish, applied to the 'solid butterfly' to give dimension.

I just love the way this project came about.

'Travel the World' by Emma Zappone

Welcome to a new week everyone.
Em with you all today.

This page is full of clustering and soft colours.
Let's check out the chipboard used.....

Pretty Flowers

I wanted the focus on the left side of the picture, to compliment and add to the floral composition within the image.
I chose to start with a piece of the foliage 7 and a Lorena Corner. These were painted with complimentary acrylics and distress oxides. With a silver wax finish. These were my starting layers.

Next I really wanted the Flowers to pop against the teals. The base part of the flower was painted in a liquid acrylic and the top layer a complimentary orange acrylic. Before I glued the 2 elements together, I stamped a ticket stamp with white ink to add some extra visual interest. 

These really are a special feature for me.

Finally to add to the foliage feels, I added one of the Fern pieces in the same orange as the base of the flowers. And Also with a light amount of stamping to tie all the elements in together.

I think the combo of chipboard used on this page is one of my favourites so far.

'Explore & Discover' with Emma Zappone

Hi there, Emma with you today.
Today I share a page entitled 'Explore & Discover' and it features a large 10" Panel. I usually like to use smaller chipboard pieces but I had this gorgeous Doily and thought I just had to play with it.

Here are all the chipboard pieces untreated....
10" Doily Panel

Grid Panel

The large Doily is painted with acrylic paints and then I added some rub-ons to fit in with the layout I had planned for it. 

The Foliage pieces have a white emboss powder added first and then a green Emboss glaze to set it off against the flowers.

The Grid Panel is finished with a Black Sparkle Emboss powder, and this was a nice colour to add to the layers.

I loved having the large 10"Doily to set off the whole composition, something a little different for me to use and play with.

I hope this page inspires you to try new things and step outside the usual.

Take Me With You - By Emma Zappone plus VIDEO TUTORIAL

Hello, Emma here, thank you for joining me today for an end of month share.

Today's  share is a layout that for me feels pretty, and that I really enjoyed creating.

Here are the awesome 2Crafty chipboard pieces I used:

If you follow me you know that I like to keep my finishes of the chipboard fairly simple,

and so, this page is no different.

With this layout I decided to paint all my chipboard with Black Gesso first.

Then I chose a selection of Prima waxes for colour and to compliment the papers.

I think my favorite piece of chipboard has to be the Clock faces.

 I used two on this layout, but cut the bigger one to make it look like three.

The hits of metallic wax really sets the chipboard apart from the other elements on the page.
