'Beauty' by Emma Zappone

Hello! Hope you all are doing ok.
Todays share is a colour combo that is a personal fave of mine.
And it features a technique that makes for an easy scrapbook page.

Here are the chipboard pieces featured......

Leafy Shrub Set2
Chunky Hearts
Crazy Circles

The background of this page is using the simple technique of smooshing oxide inks with a piece of acetate on to the white cardstock.
And because I liked the simplicity of this page I kept the chipboard simple also with the finishes.

I primed all the chipboard pieces with white Gesso to start with. The Leafy Shrub pieces I dabbed a little Oxide Ink straight over the top of the white gesso once it was dry. The colour of the oxide really pops when over the Gesso. I also loved how your could still see the contrast of the white in sections of the chipboard.

The big Crazy Circles panel was also primed with white Gesso and then, with an old tattered brush added white crackle paste. I use an old brush for this because it adds the crackle thickly and thinly to the board without the hassle of purposely doing it.

Then once the crackle was dry, colour was applied. I used 3 different ink sprays and a liquid acrylic to add depth to the crackle texture. Once happy with the level of colour I added just a hint of wax over some of the heavily cracked areas.
The Chunky heart on the picture has the same technique applied to it.

I hope this page has inspired you a little today.
I look forward to seeing you all again real soon.

Take care, Em xx

Tam's Second June Share....

Hi there 2Crafty lovelies, I've popped in today to share my latest design.
It's titled :

"Summer Days"

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard on this layout:
"Summer Days Title"
"Crazy Circles"
"Circle Stack"
"6" Revolution Frames"
"Bubble Clumps"

A layout about one of my favourite sights during summer.

Each summer, for a week, we stay at the beach and everyday we do the walk to and
from the beach with towels over the shoulder and boogie boards carefully balanced.
I love walking behind and watching my family as they walk and chat, relaxed and happy.
I love seeing the kids grow over the years.

I actually created this one as a Guest Designer over at CSI.
2Crafty Chipboard are sponsoring this month, and I really enjoyed 'solving the case'.

Here's the case:
I loved the colours and went with the Summer Theme.
I added quite a few of the elements listed in the Case.
I used a solid white background, checks/grid, stripes, wet medium (paint), tags, thread.
I also followed the Summer Writing Prompts for my journaling and wrote about what
Summer 'looks' like as well as adding what Summer 'smells' like.
Here's a closer look at the layout:

I painted some of the circles from the "Circle Stack" in white paint and
then added some doodling/stitched lines with a black pen.

I cut some of the circles from the "Crazy Circles" and did the opposite -
I painted them black and added white pen stitching doodles.
I tucked these in and around the photos and layers.

I painted a "6" Revolution Frame" white and placed these on top of the
centre photo as a way of focusing the eye into the layout.

I also tucked a few of the "Bubble Clumps" in and
around the layout. I painted these black.

For my title "Summer Days" I painted the two words in contrast summer colours.
I applied white gesso first as I wanted the colour to be bright, and then I added ink.
I often do this to my chipboard titles, use a combo of colours.
It just makes the title more interesting.

Well that's about it for today.
I love this happy vibrant layout.
We'd love you to join in over at CSI this month.

I hope I've inspired you in some way today.
I'll be back again next month, but until then, happy scrapping!

November Layouts by Debbi Tehrani

"Happy"

My first page I'd like to share was created for last month's mood board at Scrap Around the World. 2Crafty was sponsoring this fun challenge, and our design team was invited to play along as guest designers. My page was inspired by the colors and each one of four of the images in the moodboard. And of course, I was able to find the perfect 2Crafty chipboard to make my page.

The bottom middle photo of the mood board looked like bubbles and that gave me the idea to use the 2Crafty "Crazy Circles" panel. The watercolor in the top left image of the moodboard inspired me to try giving this piece a watercolor, rainbow look. I sprayed various colors of spray ink on plastic film and then pressed it onto the gesso-coated chipboard panel. I tilted the panel on its side. I love that the open circles give you space to add little bits and pieces. My journaling, tucked into a paper bag starts "There is always something to be thankful for," and I journaled about some of the many blessings in my life.

I treated the title, from the "Birthday Sentiments" sheet with the same watercolor technique. The bird in the moodboard gave me the idea to use feathers under my title. I coated them with gesso and then painted them with Twinkling H2O's, which gave them a lovey shimmer.

As I was looking for some colorful papers, I came across this piece that looked sort of like a paint chip, and I wondered if the 2Crafty "Small Filmstrip" would work here, and it was just perfect! I inked it with black stamp ink to make it stand out. I watercolored some hearts and stars from the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" sheet to sprinkle around the page.

"Selfie"

These lovely ladies are my husband's sister and her daughters. Shahrzad is visiting from Iran, so I decided I'd start an album for her, using pictures I snagged off of her Facebook page.

The "Selfies Word Pack" was just the thing for this page, as were the "Polaroid Assortment Frames." I embossed these pieces with a white embossing powder that has silver flecks in it for some glitz and glamour.

A glittery, silver-embossed "Mini Camera" was a perfect accent for a selfie page, and it was a great place to stick a subtitle from "Mini Word Set 1." I used black stamp ink on the "Sharon's Butterflies" for a dramatic touch against the bright pink.
