'#SNAPCHAT Selfie'
layout by Rachael Funnell

Hello 2 Crafty Fans!
Rach back with you, sharing another layout for May....
This page features my gorgeous girl

'#SNAPCHAT Selfie'

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces used:

hashtag word set 2
Dotted heart circles frame
Funky bug
Fern leaf set
Selfie word

Using the larger circle from Dotted heart circle frame pack,
I gave the circle part a coat of gesso
& then using Tim Holtz -Distress pink crayon, I coloured the hearts....

I did the same treatment for my title. I simply gave the word #SNAPCHAT
a coat of gesso & coloured the word Selfie, again with the pink crayon.....

Still using Distress Crayons this time a green,
and aiming for a more authentic look with the gorgeous Fern leaves,
thats why I chose not to completely colour in the whole fern....

Don't they Look GREAT!

And lastly from the Funky bug set
this SUPER CUTE lady bug, which I coloured the body yellow,
then finishing off with adding a coat of gesso to it's legs & antenna's...

Thanks for stopping by
Until next time!

November layouts by Debbi Tehrani

"Selfie Monsters"

Two summers ago, my friend Tracee visited me from across the ocean, and I had bought a selfie stick so we could capture our memories together. We were trying to work out how to use it and got a few wacky accidental pictures, like the ones pictured above. I thought these pictures would be perfect for one of our October Case Files at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration, which featured monsters. 2Crafty sponsored CSI in October.

When I looked at the clues in the Case File, I realized I had lots of different 2Crafty pieces I could use, specifically the speech bubbles, monsters, stars, and punctuation marks.

I adore the 2Crafty "Monsters!" I treated this little guy with gesso first and then used watercolor to paint him so that he'd have a sort of ombre look. The paint wasn't drying, so I added clear embossing powder, which gave him a cool bubbly texture. I created the sign out of the rectangle insides from "Polaroid Assortment Frames." Never throw those negatives away--you never know when they'll come in handy! I sprinkled some little stars coated with silver embossing powder about the layout. These stars are from the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" sheet.

How cool are these "Interlocking Grid Panels" that I used in the background? I had coated them with gesso thinking I might pain them but decided to leave them white. I started to sand off the excess  gesso that had dried when it stuck to to the plastic on which I painted the panels, and then decided it sort of looked cool--like monster goo, so I left it. I colored the title from the "Selfies Word Pack" with red stamp ink. The cool gears, which I embossed with platinum metallic powder" are from the "Gears" set.

That cute little camera is from the "Asst Mini Camera Set." I covered it with teal paper to match the papers I used in my layering and then found this fun skull clipart online to add on top of the camera lens (skull was one of the Case File clues). That cool speech bubble is from the "Word Bubbles" set, which six different pieces. I backed it with black paper, painted the middle red and topped it with some patterned paper. The googly eye was a fun, monstery addition inside the letter O.

The question mark, which I covered with patterned paper, is from the "Punctuation" set.

"Beautiful You"

I wanted to create a lovely, girly layout for my friend using these darling photos of her daughter, and 2Crafty has so many beautiful pieces.

I just love the "Pointy Doily Frames," and I used them as a starting point for my layout design. There are two in the set, and I managed to use just one by cutting a piece of it for the bottom and using the rest of it layered behind the photos. I coated it with gesso for a soft, shabby look and added some rhinestones for a bit of sparkle. How beautiful is the "Climbing Rose Bush" piece? Since I scrap 8 x 8, there's no way I could fit the entire border on my page, so I cut one rose from it and tucked it behind some flowers. I painted the leaves green with watercolor and embossed the rose with gold embossing powder. I also used the gold embossing powder on the "Butterflies."

I just love the loopy font 2Crafty uses for many of their titles. I used the "You, Loopy Font" and painted it with green watercolors, which I mixed to match the leaves from the patterned paper I fussy cut. As a finishing touch, I used the remaining piece of the "Pointed Doily Frame" to highlight the year, from the sheet of "2016's."

November Layouts by Debbi Tehrani

"Happy"

My first page I'd like to share was created for last month's mood board at Scrap Around the World. 2Crafty was sponsoring this fun challenge, and our design team was invited to play along as guest designers. My page was inspired by the colors and each one of four of the images in the moodboard. And of course, I was able to find the perfect 2Crafty chipboard to make my page.

The bottom middle photo of the mood board looked like bubbles and that gave me the idea to use the 2Crafty "Crazy Circles" panel. The watercolor in the top left image of the moodboard inspired me to try giving this piece a watercolor, rainbow look. I sprayed various colors of spray ink on plastic film and then pressed it onto the gesso-coated chipboard panel. I tilted the panel on its side. I love that the open circles give you space to add little bits and pieces. My journaling, tucked into a paper bag starts "There is always something to be thankful for," and I journaled about some of the many blessings in my life.

I treated the title, from the "Birthday Sentiments" sheet with the same watercolor technique. The bird in the moodboard gave me the idea to use feathers under my title. I coated them with gesso and then painted them with Twinkling H2O's, which gave them a lovey shimmer.

As I was looking for some colorful papers, I came across this piece that looked sort of like a paint chip, and I wondered if the 2Crafty "Small Filmstrip" would work here, and it was just perfect! I inked it with black stamp ink to make it stand out. I watercolored some hearts and stars from the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" sheet to sprinkle around the page.

"Selfie"

These lovely ladies are my husband's sister and her daughters. Shahrzad is visiting from Iran, so I decided I'd start an album for her, using pictures I snagged off of her Facebook page.

The "Selfies Word Pack" was just the thing for this page, as were the "Polaroid Assortment Frames." I embossed these pieces with a white embossing powder that has silver flecks in it for some glitz and glamour.

A glittery, silver-embossed "Mini Camera" was a perfect accent for a selfie page, and it was a great place to stick a subtitle from "Mini Word Set 1." I used black stamp ink on the "Sharon's Butterflies" for a dramatic touch against the bright pink.

Two Layouts Created by Rachael

'#hashtag Selfie'

Hi There 2 Crafty Chipboard fans!
My turn to share what I have created for this month with some GORGEOUS
2 Crafty Chipboard!
My first page is of MWAH!

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces I've used on this page:

I started off by giving all chipboard pieces a couple of coats of gesso..
I thought that this 'Doodled frame' looked best left white, up against that dark purple background.....

With the all the Teal & Purple I thought it would also look GREAT leaving the
 '#hashtagSelfie' white too.....

I did however add just a little bit of Teal & Purple to this '2015'

I then added some pink watercolor to this 'Soft Feather' chippie.

'Love'

For my second page..

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces I've used:

The 'Chain lengths' are one of my FAVES & are so versatile...
I cut a 'Chain Length' into smaller strips, inking each bit of 'Chain length' a different color.....
& using one of my favorite lantern stampsto create these Lantern like Chandeliers....

With some green ink I inked this 'Lock' which is from the 'Keyholes & locks pack'.

I then gave these 'Lattice leaves' a coat of gesso...

Also! I gave a coat of gesso to the 'Love line word border' from the
 'Line words Happiness border pack'.

As well as a coat of gesso the 'bubble clumps', then added some pink....

That's it from me today!
