Melenia's last project

Hello, 2 Crafty Chipboard fans!

Time does pass by very quickly and I find myself making my last post
as a Resident Guest Designer here at 2 Crafty!
I had a wonderful time playing and designing my pages
with these amazing chippies and I need to thank
Vanessa Tiberti & Di Garling for having me in this dream team!

So today I will share with you a page that
I totally based upon the following chipboard:

Mini Word Set 1
Card Word Circles - Sentiments
Word Circles Set 2

(I just wanted to use ALL the circles
I had in my stash to create bubbles!)

Ok this is my page

"Always enjoy the beauty of the moment"

As you see, I followed the pattern of my cardstock paper.
So I placed my chipboard on it, in a way
that makes them look like they are floating
and/or leaving the page in an upward motion.

The clusters of embellishments around the photo tend to steal the eye's attention,
and I needed my chipboard to be really eye-catching this time,
so I worked on them for quite some time.

I gessoed them first and then I added ink in different forms:
splashes, droplets, brushed. I stamped on some of them, too!
Also, I highlighted my circles using a pencil,
so they would stand out and be more prominent!

I added the wonderful word sentiments to create my title
and after painting them gold, I sprinkled glitter on them for ultra-sparkle!
So I guess that's everything from me!
Thanks for visiting the 2 Crafty Chipboard blog!

April Shares By Melenia Agapides

Hello, 2 Crafty fans!
My turn today to show a couple of my creations with the lovely 2 Crafty Chippies!
First of all a brand new layout.

"There's Nothing Worth Sharing Like Love"

2Crafty Chipboard Used..
6" Clock Face Frame
Small Film Strip
Word Circles Set 2

What I did with the Word Circles was cut the circle part off,
& just leave just the words and make them part of my journalling.
I gessoed, misted and gessoed again,
intertwining them this way with the rest of my embellishments.

I embossed the Clock Face Circle with
two different coloured powders and placed it on the Film Strip.
I actually wanted to play with the shapes (circle and rectangle),
so those two chipboard pieces were ideal for this purpose!

Here is a closer look on the "tons of fun" chipboard.
You can see how the gesso helped it to stand out from the rest!

"Love"

This layout I had made for the 13Arts, as they were the Guest Design Team for
Scrap Around the World
 for April.

The word "love" from the Line Words - Happiness Borders
plays an important role on the page, as it "glues together" all the
embellishments!
So that's all from me now!
I hope you liked my projects!

Be yourself by Melenia

Hello, 2 Crafty Chipboard fans!
Melenia Agapides with you today!

I would like to share with you my page
from the Scrap Around The World March Challenge,
in which, the 2Crafty DT members get to play along, as 2Crafty is sponsoring.
I had the honour to contribute as a guest Designer!

The lovely moodboard,is a totally modern, graphic-design oriented beauty!
So I tried to stick close to its style and produced a modern page,
pretty outside of my comfort zone.  As you will notice,
there is not a single flower in my layout!

The page is absolutely based on the following amazing 2 Crafty Chippies:

Apart from some string under the photo,
there are no other 3D embellishments on my page, other than the chipboard.
Nothing else was actually needed!

Ok what I did was to paint the Mini Cameras,
the Film Strip and my title with acrylic paint.
I painted the Film Strip with Silver Metallic paint,
in order to be able to merge it with the rest of my elements more efficiently.

For the rest of the chipboard,
since I wanted to create much contrast to the white background,
I chose really intense colours, like bright yellow and black.

As you probably know, I'm a glitter girl.
I couldn't leave my page without Silver Hologram Glitter.

That's all from me for now!
I hope you liked my page!

Melenia's creations for February

Hello, hello!
Melenia with you today,
to share a couple of layouts with the amazing 2 Crafty chipboard!
First of all, I would like to show you my page
for the collaboration of 2 Crafty with the Color Stories Inspiration
challenge blog. I tried to solve the #154 case
and this is my layout

"This is The Good Life"

As you see, I based the design of the page
on the lovely title, which I cut
and put its pieces horizontally across my page.

I applied gesso to the first word, &
sprinkled it with glitter. The next two words
and painted & the last two with bright red,
because I wanted to stress their meaning.
There's glitter everywhere in the title,
but I wanted the "good life" to stand out and
draw the attention, as well as have the dominant colour
of my photo, that is red, so that's why it's red.

On the back of my photo, you can see some Hessian Patch Panel
pop out. I find this panel fascinating and it matches perfectly with
the overall style of the page, the wood background and the paper basket
the strawberries are in.  I added some gesso and a little bit of green ink, so
that it blends nicely with the rest of my embellishments.

Last but not least, the funky heart swirl served as the finishing part of my cluster,
a nice ending which leads to the journalling. It's as if it points to it, isn't it?
I just sprinkled it with glitter, because its original colour is amazingly the same with my
background. On top of my flowers, I placed the Celebrate circle,
just another hint, accenting the message of my layout.
I always want my pages to SAY something, so all my elements serve this purpose.

Other than that, there are but few more embellishments on my page,
because as I have said in the past, 2 Crafty Chipboard can be more than enough stuff
to create a beautiful page.

2 Crafty chipboard used:
"This is the good life" title
Card Word Circles Sentiments
Funky Heart Swirls
Hessian Patch Panels

"A Bowl of Berries"

Now to my second layout.
The Funky Heart Swirls are an integral part of my page
(which was made for 13 Arts)
as you see here.

Now these amazing swirls went through a waterfall of fluids
(gesso and three different kind of mists and inks)
and they were still hard and sturdy!!
Amazing quality!

I glued Silver Microspheres and Hologram Glitter
on them, to enhance their beauty.
I also looped black thread around them
for a more messy effect.

So that's all from me!
I hope my pages  have inspired you to use the little 2 Crafty treasures!

Dream - Melenia's September Layout

Hello everyone!
It's Melenia here today with a new mixed-media page,
(oh yes, chipboard can be a key-element of mixed media projects
and this is what I want to show you today)
that features the stunning
2Crafty chipboard
Word Circles
Groovy Flowers
Lavender Shrub
Circle Revolution Frames
Dream - Loopy Font

"Dream"

First I glued the large Circle Revolution Frame on my background paper and gessoed it.
I misted on a mask, that left its print on the circle and then added some micro-beads
in different spots, here and there.

I always love to create clusters of different kinds of embellishments,
so I tucked a small Circle Revolution Frame under my photo
and hid a couple of Groovy Flowers (I just can't do without these amazing flowers)
under and over my flowers.

In order to have balance in the design of my page,
I paired the circle-shaped chipboards
with the Lavender Shrub!

I glittered parts of my chipboard pieces,
so that they would shine more and draw the attention on them.

What's a layout without a title?
I love the Loopy font
and it happened to match perfectly with the style of my page,
so I put the Dream - Loopy Font word on the left of my cluster,
to serve as a title.

So this is my mixed-media page!
I hope you like it!

Beauty Is An Attitude, According to Melenia Agapides

Hello, hello!
I hope you are having a wonderful time and you have
being busy creating beautiful things!
Today is my debut here at 2 Crafty Chipboard as a
Resident Guest Designer
and I'm very excited about it!
So I would like to share with you two layouts.
My first page
"Beauty is an attitude"
(surely it is!)
features the GORGEOUS 2 Crafty
Angie's Vines
Groovy Flowers
Word circles

As soon as I first touched the delicate Angie's Vines
I knew that these were meant for a soft and aethereal, feminine page.
I actually based the design of my layout on them!

I inked them with white chalk ink and then sprinkled them with glitter!
I combined them with ribbon, fiber and flowers on a textured background,
which was made with modelling paste and masks.

Now aren't these wonderful word circles PRECIOUS?
I have used them already to title my pages!
This one is painted with gesso and glittered (of course).
In order to create some contrast, I placed it on the dark fuschia/purple flower.

I added the 2 Groovy Flowers at the corners of my big composition,
after I gessoed and painted them pink and sprinkled them with glitter too.
You can see how these magical flowers
have become one with the textured background!

Now the second page is DT work for the ScrapsNPieces challenge blog
Its name is

"Adventure"

It features the awesome 2Crafty chipboard
Skeleton Leaves and Francesca's Journal Frames!

As you see the leaves are a distinctive feature of the page,
because their roundness and their thin straight lines are counter
balancing the rough shapes that are dominant on my page.

The frame is so delicate, I just had to add it - it's a feminine page after all!
It draws the attention to the photo very discreetly.
