'Ordinary' Art Journal Page
with Lisa Amiet

 Hello 2Crafty fans!
It's Lisa here today to share
some art journal inspiration with you.

'Ordinary'

2Crafty Used

Grass Clumps
Thistle
Field Mushrooms

For this art journal page,
I created my own mixed media background.

Then, I used some of the 'Thistle',
which I cut up and used on either side of my page.
I left these raw to go with the nature theme of my page.

I used one of the 'Field Mushrooms'
as the main focal point for my page,
which I also left raw.

I also used one of the 'Grass Clumps',
which I have coloured the same greens
and browns as my background,
layered over the thistle and mushroom.

I really love the green and brown natural tones to this page
and I am happy with how it turned out.
I hope that you like it too!

Until next time!

Dream
by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty friends!

A few years ago I discovered SUP (Standup Paddleboard) as my new favorite sport, alongside yoga. However, 2 years ago I got an injury that prevented me from doing most sports until late 2020.
But of course here in Quebec we have snow, blistering cold and all sorts of bad weather that makes it impossible to practice SUP outside of the June-September season, so I still had to wait several months after my doctor had given the green light for me to resume sports.
In the last 3 months, I've really been making the most of it, going pretty much every week
and having a real blast!

I've prepared a small video showing the techniques I used to prepare this layout
featuring me doing SUP!

"Dream"

For the "Mini Title Stick Set 3", I simply rubbed a little bit of black ink.

On the "Ava's Frame", I applied green-gold embossing enamel.
For the "Grass Clumps", I used two coats of green ink and traced the borders with black ink.

For the title, part of "Fine Word set 3", I applied 2 coats of black embossing powder and then applied a bit of red metallic paint on top.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:

Ava's Frame [fr0096]
Grass Clumps [m00144]
Mini Title Stick Set 1 [mb022]
Fine Word Set 3 [m00799]

That's all for me today! I hope my layout gave you some inspiration for your own creations. I'll be back soon with more ideas to share with you. Until then, take care and happy crafting!

Variety Day with Jennifer Snyder

Hello - Jennifer Snyder here with you. I called my post "Variety Day" - a little of this and a little of that today.   As Guest Designer, I have just one day a month to showcase all the wonderful 2Crafty chipboard pieces I enjoyed through the month  so I am making the most of my blog space. The post will seem a little disjointed or lacking in continuity - BUT that's what happens when one is having fun and gets carried away in creating.

I will present my cards that I made first, then finish with my Halloween canvas.  I no longer name my pieces.  Gosh I'd spend so much energy thinking of names and am not good at that so they are just Card 1, Card 2... Ahhhhh easy.

Card 1  - Featuring  2Crafty "Mini Word Set 1"

My cards are of a simple design.  I used to not enjoy card making because I thought I would need to be complex and elaborate, but you know what?  Simple is OK! The 2Crafty chipboard piece can be the focal point of the card.  No need to get overly fancy.

In my case, trying to be overly fancy was getting in the way of me just having fun.  I used the "Mini Word Set #1" on this card.

Card 2
This card features 2Crafty's   "Maple Leaf" atc025 and  "Sakura Flowers" m00243.    I painted the flowers with textured paint, sprinkled them with gold micro beads and dried them with a heat gun so the paint bubbled just a bit.

To finish the florals, I added the "Maple Leaf" atc leaves.
They were painted then stamped  with  a small text stamp.

"Maple Leaf" atc025 and  "Sakura Flowers" m00243

Card 3
I chose the 2Crafty  "Tattered Hearts" m00280 for this card because it went well with the flourishes and  delicate scroll work on the paper.  It's a perfect match.  I embossed this with ivory embossing powder ( ivory  powder flecked with gold)  and added micro beads.

 "Tattered Hearts" m00280

 Card 4
The star of this card is the fun "Word Circles Set 1" m00527 chipboard piece from 2Crafty.  These are perfect card sized sentiments.   This is inked brown and covered in gold glitter.

Card 5
"Sharon's Butterflies" m00496 grace the front of this delicate card.

Haunted Canvas

And now to change directions from pretty and delicate to haunted.   This is a canvas I created using a 8x10 black canvas board and a doll stamp.  My patchwork pumpkin patch ( try saying that 3 times fast) is adorned with the "Iron Fence" and "Grass Clumps".

I actually left the "iron fence" bare with no finish on it.  I thought that painting or treating the fence with a darker finish would make it disappear in the black busy canvas.  We can't have our beautiful chipboard getting lost on the piece.  That's just not right.

The  2Crafty chipboard pieces were combined with products from the Flying Unicorns .
A quick review of the 2Crafty products used:

Card 1 "Mini Word Set 1" m00542
Card 2  "Maple Leaf" atc025 and "Sakura Flowers" m00243
Card 3 "Tattered Hearts" m00280
Card 4 "Word Circles Set 1" m00527
Card 5 "Sharon's Butterflies" m00496
Canvas "Iron Fence" and "Grass Clumps"

Elena's November Mood

November is a very hard month for me to bear. It is too dull, too dark, too rainy, too cold in my part of the world. So I am struggling with this awful mood and here is my bright projects but still under November's influence for you.
The first one is called
Mother & Daughter

Yes, you are right , I love to use our photos in my projects

I decided to maintain the color palette used in Prima's papers and flowers, so I have a delightful pleasure to be warmed with this turquoise blue and peach shadows. But I wanted to add some shabby colors too, so I kept  the white accents on the chipboard.
I used the title Mother & Daughter

I covered it with white Crackle Paint, then dabbed with acrylic paint in blue, turquoise and guava. I used a sponge to make some random spots.  Then I mounted some flowers on it, just wrapping them over the alphas.

The same technique I used on a
Bunch of roses

I just added flowers to it, to add  more texture to create a bouquet.

Also I tried to keep a more visible crackle effect on
ATC Georgian Frame
and just added the ink on the edges.

I used it as a padding for the resin embellishment
I kept the blue colors on the Birdcage 1 too.

I primed it with Gesso, then misted with Lindy's Staburst mist for some shimmering and then sprayed with Dyllusions ink. and you can see this 2-tone result on the chipboard cage.

For my second layout I used autumn colors.

I have started randomly gessoing the chipboard. Then I added some acrylic paint with a sponge and a metallic acrylic paint with my brush

Birds on a Wire,

I cut them and the other part I have already used on the other project

Penny Farthing
I placed a big flower on it, which was gessoed too

I wanted to add some rusty look on Old Fence, so I painted it roughly with a dry brush and
the edges on the Miniature tree were inked with the chalk ink

I used the same techniques on
Grass Clumps

Finally my last Layout. I was thinking which one to share with you,
and decided to finish with some winter colors. Next time I think I will have something  Christmas, so please stay tuned to see my Christmas projects.
but this time I want to show one of my favorite that I made for Manor House Creations.

It is a photo of me with my son. I love the tenderness of baby's skin.
All of you who are mothers know this adorable feeling  of care and the smell of nativity.
That is why I choose the title
Timeless Moments to Remember

I primed this piece with gesso, then applied texture paste and dabbed in blue acrylic paint .
Next I took some Shimmerz and with a thin brush painted some stripes.

The technique used on the Summer Leaf Stem is very simple.
I primed it with Gesso too and dabbed it with a sponge in light blue acrylic paint.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects and if you want to find more inspiration
using 2Crafty chipboard you are welcome to visit  my blog.
