Dreamer
PLUS VIDEO
By Sabrina Turpin

 Hello 2Crafty friends!

This year was very special for my son Liam. On top of all the COVID stuff that's been completely changing our lives, he started high school a few weeks ago! So far he's been loving his new school, discovering new friends and finding a whole new level of things to learn.

Today I'm presenting a layout made with our traditional first school day picture.
I've also prepared a video to show some of the techniques I used.

Dreamer

"Dreamer VIDEO"

On the "Foliage Set 8", I applied two coats of green shimmering paint then
inked the border with black ink.

For the "Flourish Adornment Set 6", I used white embossing enamel
with green sparkles mixed inside.

On the "Chicken Wire Panel", I used a gold embossing powder
then roughly applied black ink on top.

For the "6x4 Phrase Sticks 1" (adventures are the best), I applied light gray paint and
filled the inside of the letters with a pencil. On the title, "Dreamer", I used two coats of
black embossing powder and brushed light gray paint on top of it.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in my layout:

Flourish Adornment Set 6 [pa0049]
Foliage Set 8 [m00867]
Chicken Wire Panel [m00400]
6x4 Phrase Sticks 1 [m00870]
Dreamer [w00581]

That's all for me today!

I hope you liked this layout and it gave you some inspiration for your own creations.

I'll be back soon with more ideas to share with you guys!

December Inspiration - A layout and ATC Cards
PLUS TWO VIDEO TUTORIALS
By Mary Catt

''Believe...'' (in Christmas spirit)

Hello 2Crafty fans!
Mary here with you today to share two projects and two video tutorials.

The first one is a Christmasy layout designed with 7dots studio papers from
''Homegrown'' collection and Prima Marketing flowers.

I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL with the procedure.
TO VIEW VIDEO CLICK HERE

I based my layout on December challenges over at 7dots studio
and at More Than Words challenge blogs.

2Crafty Chipboards used on this project...
Stellar Snowflakes
Mini Reindeers
Glenda's Swirl
Xmas Mini Word Pack

Some close ups...

To design my background I used modeling paste with two stencils. Because I wanted to make an extra texture and I heat embossed the modeling paste before it gets dry with the ''Purely White'' Lindy's powder. And... I loved the result!!!
Then, I colored the background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and made a few splatters of ''White'' 13arts Splash ink to make it look like it's snowy.

I heat embossed the the title and the ''Glenda's Swirl'' chipboard with ''Queen Sheba's Silver'' Lindy's powder. The ''Stellar Snowflakes'' and the ''Mini Reindeer'' chippies were also
 embossed with ''Angel Wings Ruby''.

When everything were glued down, I added ''Frosted'' mica flakes and silver
microspheres with gel medium to give my layout a wintery frosted feeling.

A final touch with some more white splatters and my snowy background was ready.

''Christmas Wishes'' set of ATC

My second project is these four ATCs made with several chippies
and Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and embossing powders.
You can see the procedure on my VIDEO...

2Crafty Chipboards used...
ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars
Deer Head Set
Stellar Snowflakes
Chicken Wire Panel

I based my cards on the Mixed Media & Art December challenge.

And a closer look on the details...
I made the background with a white cardstock colored with Lindy's mists.
I also made a little embossing on the modeling paste, which I had applied with a stencil,
with ''King Midas Gold'' Lindy's embossing powder.
To give an extra texture I added a little light paste here and there with a spatula.

Then, I heat embossed the chipboard pieces of the ''Chicken Wire Panel'',  the ''Stellar Snowflakes'' ''Deer Head Set'' & ''ATC Tiny Stars'' with some Lindy's powder.

The stickers are from the ''Yuletide'' 7dots Studio collection.

I added sisal in natural color and some micro beads in bronze with gel medium.

Lastly I added a few splatters with a white splash ink.

Well, that's all for today...
See again next month!
Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

October inspiration by Marianne Johansson

"Getaway"

Hello peeps!

Today I have to fun layouts to show you.
Totally different regarding colors, but still, kinda "my style"

The first one is from a crop I went to last year (in fact, it's the same crop we are going to now this weekend).
My friend Vibeke and myself drove for several hours, stayed at a hotel and had lots of fun.

Lots going on here in the layout as you see.
I loved the Messy Square Frames and used several of them as layers on top and under the photo.

I used ink pad randomly on the chippies, here you see "getaway", on of the words from the Mini Travel World set 2

Details of the frame beneath the photo and paperlayers

I love all kind of chicken wires and so happy to use these from 2Crafty.
Usually I cut them in pieces as you see here

To match the chicken wire chippie I used a chicken wire stamp as well

My background is made with watercolor, stencils and stamps

2Crafty Chipboards used:
Chicken wire panel
Messy Square Frames
Mini travel world set 2
ATC words 1
Adornment set 1

And so for the next layout, totally different regarding colors as I said:

"Time of my life"

Another photo from the "surprise" trip I gave to my youngest daughter going to a concert with her favorite band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS)

On this layout I used the chippies natural, only with a little bit of color by an ink pad

I cut the Sammi's swirl in several pieces

I guess you can say that if you have some chippies, you don't need much other embellishments. And that I have showed you on this layout

I used the Corner Arhces as a "frame" on my photo

And this title is so perfect for my layout and the history behind it.
It really was Sarah's time of her life.
She even said to me after the concert (she is 14 years old): "mom, now I can die happy ;) "

Didn't spill any part of the chippies, so here is a leftover piece from one of the Corner Arches

2Crafty Chipboards used:

Time of my life
Corner Arches
Sammi's swirl

Hope you liked my layouts and got some inspiratons how to use chipboards in different ways
