"Paradise Found" by Amy Voorthuis

Good morning lovely 2Crafty friends,

It's a lovely day to visit the blog, for today I have another layout to share with you. Since I am in the summer mood I made a layout with a picture of my sweet cousin Jaime in some tropical place. On this layout I did a lot of mixed media like using crackle paste, plaster paste, stenciling & spraying I also did that on my beautiful 2Crafty chipboard.

Paradise Found:

  2Crafty Chipboard used:
Fine Word Set 1
Paradise Found
Circle Word Tag Set 1
Intricate Seahorses
Seashells Set 2
Palm Leaves Set
Leafy Shrub Set 3

First I painted all the chipboard pieces with white gesso, then I used some rust paste on the Leafy Shrub Set 3 which I then painted with two different shades of acrylic paint & waxes. The seahorse was treated with some starburst spray and some crackle paste {the translucent kind}. On the "Paradise Found" phrase I added two different embossing powder because I didn't had the color I wanted.

Then I also treated it with same crackle paste as the seahorse after that I added some wax on the word found to make it a different color the word "forever" was placed on the phrase that one was painted with rust paste. In the end I added some spray and art stones.

Thank you so much for your visit today and if you would like to see more of my work please visit here:

Bon voyage
By Marie Claude Rodier WITH VIDEO TUTORIAL

 Hello everyone,

For my last post this month, I went outside my comfort zone with this little funky treasure
box that my youngest son will use as a memory box during our next holiday.
He loves to collect all kind of memorabilia, so this will pefect for him.

I tried to recreate a retro vintage theme and thus decided to use faded colors on all my pieces. Most chipboards were basecoated with white gesso, painted with gelatos and highlighted with metallic watercolor paints and gesso.

6´´ Flamingo Frame Set was cut into pieces and used as focal point.

Palm Leaves Set were tucked either side of the flamingo. Some pieces were placed on top of others for a 3D effect.

Bon voyage from Travel Word Set 1 was simply painted with black paint.

Tropical Sunset
By Marie Claude Rodier

 Hi everyone,

I’m here today to share with you my latest layout using some great 2Crafty chipboards.
As summer has arrived early this year in Canada, I was inspired by warmer tones and
flowers patterns for this tropical layout.

Tropical Sunset

I started by painting Frame Celia’s and Lucy’s Flourishes with Hazelnut and Chest of
Gold Sparks paints. I also added white gesso here and there as final touches.

I basecoated Tropical Sunset title and Palm Leaves Set with Emerald Icing Paste and
added a few touches of brown and gold metallic watercolor on top of it. I also added
white gesso to highlight the pieces.

Remember
by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty fans!

It's going to be our first summer since our new furry friend joined our family and he's already having a blast spending more time outside than he could during the cold winter months. He just loves sleeping in the shade and playing with the kids, especially when they're playing with water! Yesterday I took a picture of him after my daughter splashed him and it was just perfect for a new layout.

"Remember"

On the Dianne's doily set, I applied a coat of a red acrylic paint and used a
flowerish stamp with some sandy embossing powder.

On the palm set leaves, I used watercolor paint. I mixed a bit of blue and
lime colour to get the shade I was looking for.

On the intricate sea horses, I used blue embossing ink and added some
pearl embossing powder on top of it.

For my title, I applied a sandy black embossing powder very roughly,
so we can see the grain of the chipboard.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:
Intricate Seahorses [M00702]
Palm Leaves Set [M00739]
Dianne's doily set [M00586]
Line words -Goodtimes borders [DB0096]

That's all for me today!
I hope you enjoyed my layout and it gave you some inspiration for your own creations.
I'll be back soon as my family and I are splashing into summer!

 See you soon!

Two tones of greens for the "Palm leaves set" and
a shinny white one for my title
which came from "Mini word set 1"

Below, the "Mini title stick set 4" chippie

Hope it will bring some inspiration in your home!

Day at the beach
by Sabrina Turpin

Hello 2Crafty friends!

Summer time has officially come to a close here with my kids going back to school after two months of fun and amazing memories! They're happy to see all their friends again but they say they already miss the beach and can't wait to go back next year. We've been going for 4 straight years now and they enjoy it even more every year.

The layout I'm sharing today show them with the same pose taken on each of these four years. We made it so they wore the same swimsuit the first two years, but they've been growing too fast for us to repeat that after.

"Day at the beach"

On the "Palm Leaves Set", I applied a green embossing ink and then applied green-gold wax on top.

For the "Flower set 1", I inked with teal ink and then used a blue embossing ink on top.

On the "Fish Net Bits", I used teal wax applied with a small brush.

For the title, "Day at the Beach", I used a blue-white-gold embossing enamel.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:
Palm Leaves set [M00739]
Fishing net bits [M00657]
Day at the beach [W00423]
Flower set 1 [M00817]

That is all for me today! I hope you enjoyed this and that it will give you some inspiration for your creations! And if your kids are going back to school, I wish you and them to have a good time! I'll be back soon with more ideas to share.

Pretty in Pink - Day at the Beach
By Marie Claude Rodier
PLUS A PROCESS VIDEO TUTORIAL

Hi,

I'm happy to be on the blog today to show my latest creation using lots of 2Crafty chipboards.

You will find a process video at the end of this post.
I hope you will enjoy it.
"Day at the beach"

Summer has finally arrived in my part of the world and it's officially beach season!!!
Instead of the traditional blue/teal color palette used for this kind of layout,
I chose a monochromatic pink one.

I love how it turned out and I hope you do like it too.

Day at the beach title was first coated with white gesso and
then embossed with rose gold embossing powder.
To get constrasting white edges, I let my embossing gun heat up a little longer on the edges.

Pointed Doily Frame was also basecoated with gesso and
then embossed with pale pink embossing powder and tucked behind the photo.

Palm Leaves set and Foliage Set 1 were first basecoated.
Palm Leave set was embossed with pale mint green.
Foliage Set was embossed with with pearl powder then partially covered
with a light coat of white gesso and a few touches of pink Gelatos.
