"Summer Days" Layout with Amy Voorthuis

Good morning lovely 2Crafty friends.

How great of you all to stop by the 2Crafty blog, this is my first layout for the month of August. I am so glad I have my mojo back I bought a lot of papers lately which I didn't need too, since I have lots of papers lol... but I know every scrapbooker & mixed media artist wants to have the newest lines if can. This layout is also a summery one with some of the newest prima papers and a bunch of my favorite 2Crafty Chipboard pieces.

Summer Days: 

Beautiful 2Crafty Chipboard pieces used:

All the 2Crafty Chipboard pieces are treated with my big pot of white gesso. Then I used a couple of my aqua/alcohol twin markers for all my pieces but the word "adore" on that one I used some white embossing powder. 

The design I did for this layout is one of my own I made a couple of years back when I was in the 49 and Market design team. I sometimes love to look at my old scrapbook layout to get inspired from but not only mine but all creative souls there are in this industry.

"Love Forever Happiness" layout by Amy Voorthuis

Well hello fellow crafters, 

I am very glad you are visiting the blog today, here you can find a lot of inspiration from my fellow DT members who are a huge inspiration to me as well. I just love creating with 2Crafty Chipboard pieces & I love creating with as much of them as possible. So for this layout I went all feminine with a couple of my favorite colors & eight different chippies, enjoy my post! Oh and I used a picture of my husband & daughter last summer in Greece....

I prepaired all my chipboard pieces with white gesso as I normally do but for all of the chippies I used a different technique let me explain. For the pretty window shutters I used some rustic paint {white sand} which has a sand like structure and applying it is very easy. After that I added some colors with a matte finish and some white wax. 

The clock face frame & amelia frame atre both firstly sprayed with spray paint and then I added some acrylic paint & three different color waxes. 

The words I embossed with different colors and the word "Happiness" I two toned it so it give it more demension. I also embossed the "squiggly circle arrow journal spots" with some pink embossing powder. 

And for the leafy shrub set I used some spray paint and two different acrylic paints and later on I added some wax. I also did a lot of fussy cutting forthis layout now I know why I love doing that it relaxes the mind haha..

I left all the chipboards natural, with the choice of papers and photos

"Forever" Altered Object by Marie Sabatier

For my second June inspiration, I chose to make an altered object with two embroidery hoops.

I wanted to get a "Girly Romantic" effect!

Here is my choice of 2Crafty chipboards:

- Mini Word Set 2

- Leafy Shrub Set 1

- Lattice-Leaves

- ATC Word Banner Set 1

A layer of white gesso on each chipboard.

For "Leafy Shrub" chipboards I applied an "Oakleaf Olive" embossing powder
 and then lightly applied a golden wax.

On the chipboard banner "love you" on the leaves "lattice leaves"

 and on the title "forever" I just applied golden wax.

To give relief to the chipboards I also added pebbles,
 mini metal balls and glitter powder.
