Love is in the Air - with Karan Gerber

Hi Friends and Welcome!

Its Karan Gerber here to host the blog and today I am a Guest Detective over on
the CSI- Color Stories Inspiration blog and we from 2 Crafty have been invited
to join in on the challenge.
So today I am sharing a layout with you. But first the Challenge.

My take on the Challenge:

I cut apart the circle lace panel into strips heat embossed using
 Seth Apters Embossing Powders..

on all of the chipboard pieces except the title were heat embossed.

To add a feminine touch to the layout I wrapped my
photo mats in twine to tie in with the color scheme.

I colored the title with chalk ink Baja Blue and edged it with Dragons eye Sparks.

The top border, which is cut from the circle panel, I heat embossed with
Seth Apters Deep Sea and dabbed a bit of Ancient Amber on top.

The flower centers were heat embossed too with Ancient Amber Embossing powders
as was the Leafy Shrub peeking out of the flower clusters.

The floral frame was heat embossed using Seth Apters Dirty Sand,
I love how that powder looks, so amazing!

August Inspiration by Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today to share my August projects.

"What A Wonderful Day"

I found this lovely photo on Pinterest and created this romantic layout.  I added lots of mixed media to the background paper, including some masking, stamping, paint and glass glitter.

2Crafty Chipboard used:

5" Floral Frame
Mini Flourish Bits
Chloe's Vines
What A Wonderful Day

Here I've used a piece from Chloe's Vines, embossed with a mixture of blue, auburn and pearl embossing powders.  I also applied a light coating of blue paint.  To the left and right of the photo I placed pieces from Mini Flourish Bits, embossed with blue powder and a touch of blue paint as well.

The photo is surrounded by the 5" Floral Frame, embossed and painted the same as the Chloe's Vine.

The title is perfect for the photo, embossed blue gray.

"This Girl"

Next I have a "girly" layout, full of  lovely pastel shades.  Love this photo of my friend's daughter.
Lots of masking, stamping and paint added to the background paper

2Crafty Chipboard used:

Corner Heart Spray
Circle Heart Frames
Mini Branches
This Girl

I added several layers of mixed media to the Corner Heart Spray Chipboard.  Two different shades of pink embossing powders, along with a couple shades of pink paint and stamping.

Tucked within the cluster of flowers I added some Mini Branches embossed green.

Behind the photo I placed the Circle Heart Frame, which I applied some embossing powders, paint and stamping.  The Title "This Girl" was embossed with some mint green powder.

I hope I have inspired you.  See you next month!

August Inspiration - Two Layouts PLUS TWO VIDEOS
With Anita Bownds

Hi..
Anita here with you today sharing TWO layouts and TWO process videos.

"It's A Sister Thing"

For my layout I went for lots of purple, green and white,
using the darker colour behind my photo

Here is the  process video of my layout.

I used lots of pops of white and purple using embossing and flowers,
and the green ink to break it up a little.

My title pops with the stenciled purple behind it and the stenciled
black ink added a bit more texture to the background.

I added a few bits of embossed vellum under my flowers and behind
my photo. I also added some bling along with a few pearls.

"Hello Beautiful"

With this layout I wanted to use blue and green as my main colours,
having the subtle bluey green watercolor look on my background.

Here is my process video of my layout.

I added the flicks of grey Colour Blast shimmer to give the
 background a bit more contrast

As I wanted it to flow across the page the stenciled hearts
are subtle and add a bit of texture to the background.

I used a darker colour for my title and the lighter colours in the background
I also added a touch of white ink around the edges of the title

Here is a close up of my big sooky bubba.

And a look at my handmade flowers.
