"Shine" Layout With Emma

Hi all 2Crafty friends.

 So happy to join you all in 2019!

For my first share in January I have a fresh layout to hopefully
 inspire you to get back into the creative vibe.

 Cause let's be honest it's so hard to get back into anything after time off!

"Shine"

And here are the chipboard pieces that brought this all to life....

I really love to let the chipboard speak so I try to paint, ink or emboss
simply with colours that really allow them to shine.

For the Chevrons from Mini Sampler set I chose to emboss with two colours
to bring out the theme from the base colours. Hence the yellow and blue.

The Light Bulb I inked with an archival black ink to keep it simple
 yet stand out against the lighter background and photo.

I also did this for the word Shine for my title.

For the Steampunk Strip I used, I decided to use an acrylic paint in the complimentary blue.

I didn't add anything else to it, left it with just the one colour so it didn't get lost.

I hope you get a chance to Shine and get creative very soon.

"A Moment Captured" with Em

Hi 2Crafty friends,

Emma here today with you all.

The layout I created for today has some pieces of chippy I really enjoyed playing with.

"A Moment Captured"

2Crafty Chipboard pieces I chose.....

So for my finishes on the Tiny Film Strips I have black embossed.
The definition on these little pieces are just amazing.

I used the circles from the sampler pack in this layout, and
 for these I just inked with a coordinating distress oxide.

You can also see poking out in places with the paper Tags the chipboard tags,
I used a couple of the smaller ones in the layers. These I inked in black and
then used a gold texture medium applied with a palette knife to look a little distressed.

For my Title piece I black inked the top two words and
 the 'captured' word I gold embossed.

I'm totally loving the gold right now.

It was fun getting a little more 'arty' with this page.

"Escape Under the Stars" By Emma Zappone

Welcome everyone to my first share this month.

Today's share is totally inspired by the image, my love of all things Star Trek and sci-fi.

Here are the chipboard pieces I chose to bring this layout to life.

Because Star Trek is iconic I decided to go with a bit of a retro feel as this
 particular artwork is of the original Spock.

Hence this is why I chose the retro squares for the background. I painted the
chippy in an Art Alchemy acrylic first and then once dry stamped over it with a
white ink.  The stamped image is the same one as  what I stamped directly on my layout.

The Circles I sprayed with a Dylusions ink spray and I chose a purple, a colour I very rarely
use as I just don't like it, but felt this page would do purple justice, you know, being spacey and all.

The arrows I painted in a Sparks over them being inked in black first.

I also painted the decorative disc under my arrows in the matching shade of purple.

My title word from the Mini word set is also in the purple but
with an Opal metallic over the top to add extra sheen.

Over all I feel I have captured the essence of space and beaming up into it.

I hope you can see where I was going with it anyways.

January Shares With Beck BTPlus a VIDEO

    "Happy"

 For my first page I wanted to share a sweet feminine page full of paintery fun and glimmer.
  I used lots of Shimmerz paint on this page and oh how much fun it was to create.

I created a video to show the fun I had creating this page.

Along with the Shimmerz paints I used lots of new Indigoblu stamps that
 are soon to be released, so hope you enjoy the early sneak peek of those.  

   2Crafty Chipboards Used:

11" Hibiscus Frame  Leafy Twig branches Cassie's Flourishes Happy loopy font  

  "Happy Birthday Card" Today I have a fun masculine style card to share.  I really had so much fun creating this one!   I started out with some stencilling in the background using Fun Stamper's Journey  chevron stencil and Color splash in Shimmer Gold.  

I sprayed the cog border piece with Fun Stampers Journey Shimmer Silver spray.   
I just love the metallic effect it instantly gave the chipboard!

I simply coloured up the chevron bits with a red marker -
 such a quick and easy way to color up the chipboard!

The 'Happy Birthday' words were easily painted up with Indigoblu black Gesso

Add some lovely interest to your chipboard by mopping up various colours of sprays

 from your craft mat one at a time and you get this neat effect!

Finish off with some splatter of watered down black gesso for a cool grungy effect!

November Inspiration and Small TUTORIAL by Marianne Johansson

"CAPTURED MOMENTS"

Today I have two layouts to show you, the first one with a small tutorial.

The photo this time, is from my town, Hamar in Norway and a glass building ,
 built to cover the remains of a church from the Middle Ages.

A fantastic building and covered with lots of trees makes it a special & beautiful place.

I used some of the chippies as "stencils" on this,
both the moroccan panel and the leafy twig branches.

First I colored the leafy twig branches with a mix of gel medium and mica powder.

Here you see the branches ready covered with the mix

Next I used the negative part of the above chippie and a sponge, "dabbing" the pattern

 on my paper with the same mix of gel medium and mica powder.

Here you see the result, I was really pleased how it turned out.

My background is gessoed so the result of the "dabbing" gets a slightly different look.

I added some parts of the Moroccan panel as you can see in the photo below.

I used the same technique with the stencil as above, using the chippie as a stencil.

 Only this time I used ink as my color medium.

And here you see my final layout ready.

A dreamy layout with colors and elements of fall.

I had some sunflowers in my stash and they were perfect for my layout this time

I also added some of the Mini Branches in a cluster together with the sunflowers.

The title, Captured Moments is colored with ink in two different colors, black and orange.

"LIVE LAUGH LOVE"

The second layout I have made for my November inspiration is a layout with a photo

 of my girls, from our vacation in London in June this year.

This time I chose to keep the chippies rather natural, only with a dash of ink
in random places. I wanted the chippies to "glide" into the layout together
with the photo and pattern paper.

This title matched my daughters mood on this trip - they really had an awesome time

I cut the circles into pieces and used them on different places on the layout.

 Absolutely love the Hessian Patch panels, they can be used in so many different ways!
