Blood Sweat & Gears - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
Laura back today to share my next layout.

2Crafty Products used:

Steampunk Gears Small
Blood Sweat & Gears
Mini Sampler
12x12 Nested Cog Frames
Checkerboard Clumps

I prepped the paper with clear gesso then added some texture paste that was coloured with powders.  After I prepped the chipboard pieces.

After the gesso dried I applied Finnabair mica powder in the rusty orange colour from the golden hour set, Dylusions slate grey ink spray and Ranger Distress Stain in black soot and hickory smoke.

I layered the chipboard with die cuts and molded pieces

The title piece I used lumberjack plaid ink and embossing powder then inked it with black around the edges to coordinate with the other distressed pieces.

School Adventures - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!

Laura here today to share a school layout I created of our oldest way back in Junior Kindergarten!

I really enjoy scrapbooking older photos and reliving the memories (he is now 23 years old)

2Crafty products used

Mini Sampler

6" Christmas Star Frame

Mini Number Panel

Circle Tag Set

I wanted to coordinate all the colours of my chipboard with the bright and fun colours of the paper so I heat embossed each piece.  I chose the red for the mini sampler

For the 'Adore' Circle tag I inked then used a white jelly roll pen to highlight the word!

I know the title says 'Christmas Star Frame' but it fits perfectly for our little school star too!

I really like that you get 6 of the mini number panels!  Perfect to use in multiple areas of my page!

A Moment Captured - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
I have 2 sons and a husband so I create a lot of masculine layouts to celebrate their relationships!
This is my hubby and our youngest working on the Ty's truck.
They are always tinkering or working on things together.

2Crafty products used:

A Moment Captured

Steampunk Gears Medium

Circle Stack

Mini Checkerboard bits

Mini Sampler

After covering the paper with clear gesso I applied texture paste with a stencil then used orange brusho powder, Parisian Rosewood artisan powder and Winter Frost distress stain mist to color the paper.

I applied the same stencil/paste to the die cut circles.  I wanted the chipboard to reflect the grungy feel I was trying to accomplish.   I covered all the chipboard pieces with white gesso then I took the orange brusho powder and the rosewood powder and sprinkled the powders on my craft mat, spritzed with water then painted the pieces.  I added some more powders directly on the pieces then more water to add more vibrancy.

After I dried all the pieces I inked the edges with brown ink

For the title I covered in white gesso then sprayed with the Winter Frost distress stain heat set then applied it a few more times in spots to achieve the look I wanted.

Tammy's May Shares

Good morning 2 Crafties!!

Today I'm sharing a couple of layouts with you.

The first one is titled:

"Love"

This one is about documenting a guest book I created for a very special wedding we attended.
I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to create it and really wanted to have a memory of this.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:
"Polaroid Assortment Frames"
"Frame Viney Circles"
"Lace Heart Frames"
"Love Loopy Font Title"
"Grid Bits"
"ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars"
"Flower Doilies"

I applied white gesso to the "Grid Bits", a "Viney Circle Frame" and to the
"Love Loopy Title".  I then added white paint.

I decided to keep them plain white as a contrast to the dark background paper.

I tucked a few "Polaroid Assorted Frames" into my clusters - these I heat embossed
with a gorgeous shabby chic metallic emboss powder.

I also tucked in a few of the gorgeous "Flower Doilies".
I applied white gesso to these and then added a gold spritz to give them a slight colour/glow.

I added a "Lace Heart Frame" and decided to leave this plain - as the raw colour really complemented the layout and also I had added a lot of white chipboard to that particular area,
so it contrasted with those pieces nicely.

Finally to bring out the touch of red in the layout, I painted a few little hearts from the
"ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" in a red colour and scattered these around the layout.

I did a lot of layering and clustering in this layout, and unlike my usual style of bright,
full-on colour,  I was very controlled and added just a splash of colour here and there.

My next share for this month for 2Crafty is titled:

"Adore"

A page about the mutual love and adoration between my son and our pet kitty. (So Cute!)

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Fine Word Set 1"
"6" Revolution Frame"
"Polaroid Assorted Frames"
"Circle Frames"
"Mini Sampler Set 1"
"Triangle Set"
"Chain Lengths"

This page is more to my usual style - bold colour!
I couldn't stay away from it for too long!

I painted the title 'adore' from the "Fine Word Set 1" black, as I did some of the
"Circle Frames" and also the smaller circles from the "Mini Sampler Set 1".

I love how black contrasts with bold colour.

I applied gesso to the "Chain Lengths" and also the "6" Revolution Frame".

I also applied gesso to some of the "Polaroid Assorted Frames" and then I stamped
onto these using a mini chevron pattern and black ink.
I wanted these to look a bit artsy - definitely not perfect, so I just stamped randomly
without thinking about how even it was.

I added some pieces of scrap paper to the "Triangle Set".
I love how this adds a bit more colour to the layout.

So that's it from me this month!

I hope you are inspired to get your scrappy on!
