"You Make Me Happy Handsome Lad" by Amy Voorthuis

Goodmorning 2Crafty friends,
So glad you are visiting this amazing blog, I really love creating with beautiful chipboard
pieces like these. For today I have another 12 by 12 layout as those are my favorites to make.
This time I used a older picture of Kevin and myself.
Since my printer was acting up I couldn't use the picture I wanted to use.
You got to love technology right???

You know what's amazing, you can order directly from the
2Crafty website here so you can also play with their amazing chipboard pieces

You Make Me Happy Handsome Lad:

2Crafty Chipboard used:
Mini Title Stick Set 1
Corner Steampunk 4
12 x 12 Weatherred Clock Face Frames
11" Holly Frame Set
Holly Twig Branches
Hinges Pack
You Make Me Happy Title
Fine Word Set 3

I just love to wrinkle my papers so that's what I did for this layout. I also machine stitched the outside of my base sheet. Most chipboard pieces are treated with some rust paste and waxes as for the title "you make me happy" the top was embossed {with white powder} and the happy part was also treated with rust paste.

The 11" holly frame set was firstly treated with some white gesso and later on I added three kinds of green acrylic paints and a lavender acrylic paint. Then on the berry circles I added some wishing bubbles to make them pop a little.

Thank you so much for your visit today and if you would like

"You Make Me Happy" Canvas by Bec Genet

Hi all. Today I'm here to share a canvas I made, while this canvas may look complicated it was actually very simple to make.
To make it all I needed was 6 pieces of chipboard, 9 flowers and 1 water colour paint set.

The 2Crafty Chipboard I used was:
You Make me Happy title
6" Circle revolution frames
Amelia Flower Stem Large
Chloe's Vines
Film Strip Medium

I used the Prima watercolour set Woodlands to colour my canvas and chipboard pieces. I just added the watercolour straight onto the raw chipboard. I like how the colour soaks in unevenly to the  give a variation in colour to each piece of chipboard.

The 6" Circle revolution frames (Only half of the medium circle was used) and the Film Strips medium were coloured with the black watercolour from the set.

The You Make me Happy title, Amelia Flower Stem Large and Chloe's Vines were coloured in a teal watercolour. I wanted the title to be a little lighter so it would stand out, to do this I added some white gesso to it.

Mixed media cards with Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

This month, for my second project, I have 2 cards to share.
They are non-standard cards approx. 6"x6" requested in this size in order to write a letter inside instead of a message.

I started by cutting out some circles from Cocoa Vanilla pattern paper and coated them with white gesso. While that was drying, I coated all the 2crafty chipboard pieces with white gesso as well - a few gears from Steampunk Small & Medium, a small panel cut off from the Square Collage Panel and one piece from the Vintage Hot Air Balloon Set. I did NOT apply any gesso on the tile 2crafty chipboard piece 'You make me Happy'

To get an even coat of colour on the chipboard pieces, Ive directly applied stamp pads on the chipboard pieces.

Here is the second card. The colour palette was directly based on the pattern paper.

Can you see how the Hot Air Balloon has a bright orange whereas the 'You make me happy' chipboard in the previous card looks darker and more vintage looking. That's because I didn't apply any gesso on the 'You make me happy' chipboard piece. Gesso makes colour look brighter on chipboard.

Thank you for visiting us today.
Wishing you all a very happy & creative week ahead.
Hugs,
Kripa

July Inspiration - "You Make Me Happy"
by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

Elisa here from the design team, sharing my latest layout with you and the first of
my July inspiration featuring the gorgeous chipboard from 2craftychipboard.

I wanted to tie in a few elements from my chosen photo including my son's
smile and cheeky personality and also the patterns from his shirt as well.

I chose to work with the some awesome chippy pieces plus the new
Cocoa Vanilla  'Boys Rule' range of papers and elements and my gel plate.

"You Make Me Happy"

Here are my chosen chipboard pieces from the great range at 2Crafty:

1. Triangle Clusters
2. Sequin Negative Bits
3. You make me Happy title
4. Family Symbols
5. Circle Nesting Frame

Circle Stack (units of 3)

I am always trying to find interesting ways to jazz up
my chipboard, so lets take a closer look!

For my title - You make me happy, I painted it black and then smoothed a
metallic wax in silver over the painted chipboard.

This gives quite the distressed metallic look!
I will be doing this again for sure.

For the triangle clusters, I embossed them with an old glitter embossing powder
that had sprinkles of glitter in it with a black base colour.

It went perfectly with the metallic theme I had started with my layout.

For the background, I added the sequin border piece that came in the Sequin negative pack.
I coloured this with black ink and then added a layer of clear glitter pen over the top.

Also I embossed my little man piece of chipboard with a lovely blue black embossing powder
to match the blue in his shirt and the rest of the layout. To make him pop out a bit,
I added a star behind the chipboard.

Last but not least the chipboard that just keeps on giving!! Circle Stack, I have
made quite a few layouts using the stack of circles so far. As you can see in the above photo,
I used a circle to frame my photo, to make the photo stand out more, I used the circle to
mat a piece of paper with a subtle background design.

This is a great technique to use with all those chipboard frames you have stashed away!!
Try it today and tag me in the post, I would love to see what you create!

Well that's it from me today, I hope you have been inspired to pull out
some chipboard today from the great 2Crafty range.

Thanks for stopping by the blog
