Our New Puppy
by Sabrina Turpin

 Hello 2Crafty friends!

Hope you're all doing great! On my side I'm doing awesome. It was my birthday a few weeks ago and it was pretty good, even given the weird COVID circumstances. In a few weeks, it's going to be my baby's turn to have his birthday! Indeed, my dog Neho is going to be a year old! How time flies! It feels we barely just adopted him but he's already been with us for a full 9 months!

There is this awesome chipboard title I've wanted to use a for while back and I realize now's
the right time before my big boy grows too much!

"Our New Puppy"

On the "Ada's Flourishes", I applied a pink embossing enamel.

For the "Doily Frames", I applied a silver wax with my finger and then applied black ink on the borders.

On the title, "Our New Puppy", I used two coats of teal-gold shimmering paint, then made it
dry quickly with my heat gun to give it a sandy look. Then I brushed a bit of black ink on top.

I used the following 2Crafty chipboards in this layout:

Ada's Flourishes [m00724]
Our New Puppy [w00288]
Doily Frames [fr0060]

That's all for me today! I hope you enjoyed this layout and that it gave you some ideas
for your own creations! I'll be back in a few weeks with more ideas to share with you!

 See you soon!

August Inspiration by Elisa Ablett - Good For the Soul

'Good for the Soul'

Hi Everyone,

I am up on the blog today with another mixed media layout, combining some gorgeous pieces of chipboard along with handpainted stamped images.

I wanted a fun layout and stuck to the colours that were in the photo, blues and browns.

The 7 dots Studio paper with a painted background and the Aall and Create stamps combined with the awesome chipboard make for a unique and fun layout.

2Crafty Chipboard products used:

1. Sabine Circle Frames
2. Hummingbird
3. Ada's Flourish - border pieces

Let's take a look at the finer details!

Firstly, the hummingbird piece, I inked carefully in black ink and then using my finger
I smoothed Finnabair Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in Blue over the chipboard
and then a top coat of Vintage Gold.

For the second piece of chipboard and the set of Sabine's frames, I inked them all in black,
then added layers of Aged Brass and Vintage Copper Metallique
Wax over the pieces to give them a rusted look.

To create an interesting feature on the left side of my page, I cut one of the smaller Sabine Frames in half and tucked the cut edges underneath my fussy cut stamped images.

The larger frame I left a bit darker with just a small amount of Metallique wax smoothed over the top. I wanted to use the frame to draw attention to my fun photo.

I used the flourish border piece to create flow across my page, it has a rusted appearance to blend in with the colours of the background photo. Creating flow across your page draws the eye to your photo and main cluster of embellishments.

To finish off the layout, I hand painted with a small paintbrush and watercolours to match the colours from the background and photo, plus I love Mandala's and any sort of Bohemian look and I think the colours and chipboard make the layout unique, different and interesting.

Let me know what you think !

That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by the blog :-)

Hugs

Elisa xx

July Inspiration by Kareen Dion

Hello everyone!!

Kareen with you today to share two layouts for this month!

My first layout is in the shade of blue. I used Circle Lace Panel chipboard in a part of my
background. I really love the look. It looks like a frame and it gives a deeper look on the layout.

"Treasure"

For the Circle Lace Panel, I traced a square beforehand, the size of the chipboard,
and painted the background black. Then, on the chipboard, I simply apply a thin
layer of white paint.

For the word Treasure-word from the Fine Word Set 1, I used
white embossing powder which I also used on the Lattice Leaves too.

I  embossed the Ada's Flourishes with a blue embossing powder.

I really enjoy playing with different colors of embossing powder
on the chipboards and sometimes, I like to leave it all natural.

For my second project, I decided to go all floral!
I like the mix of the purple and turquoise.

"Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful"

For my title Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful, I began by putting turquoise
embossing powder and then, I put white embossing powder, but not everywhere.
That way, it gives two tones on the chipboard.

I add some Mini Branches also with white embossing powder.

To add an accent to my layout, I added Chloe's Vines with turquoise embossing powder.
It contrasts with the rest of my layout. I also white embossed the Ava's Frames.

More of the Mini Branches.

So, I hope I have inspired you today!
See you next time,

Two Layouts PLUS TWO VIDEO TUTORIALS
By Mary Catt

''Dream''

Hello 2Crafty friends!
It's Mary here with you today and I have two layouts and
two video tutorials to share with you.

For the first layout, I used 7dots papers, several Lindy's Stamp Gang
sprays and powders and Prima Marketing flowers.
I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL of the procedure.

Some close ups...

For my background I used the ''9mm'' paper from the ''Dreamscapes'' collection.
I created texture on my background by applying modeling paste through a stencil.
When dried, I used ''Cattail Copper Brown'', ''Bayou Boogie Gold'' and
''Pineapple Paradise'' Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color my page.

I heat embossed the ''Clock Face Frame'', the chippies from the
''Flourish Adornment Set 4'' and the ''Dream - Loopy Font''
 with ''Bratwurst Brown'' Lindy's powder.

To finish, I added some Bronze micro beads and Copper Glass Glitter
with gel medium and made some splatters with white acrylic artist ink.

 ''Escape''

The second layout was made with Prima Marketing papers from the ''Love Clippings'' collection, Prima Marketing flowers and some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and powders.

Ada's Flourishes
Mini Flourish Bits
Mini Word Set 1

And a closer look at the details...

To start, I applied on my paper some white gesso. Then, I created texture on the background with modeling paste and a stencil. For more interest, I mixed some Light paste with the ''Autumn Maple Crimson'' Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical and I also applied the mixture through a stencil on my paper.

Then, I added some color with the ''Pineapple Paradise'' Lindy's Stamp Gang spray.

I heat embossed the chippies from the ''Mini Flourish Bits'', the title from the ''Mini Word Set 1'' and the ''Ada's Flourishes'' chipboards with ''Gilded Burgundy Brass'' Lindy's embossing powder.

When everything was glued down, I added some Art Stones with gel medium.

That's all for today my friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
