Just too Cute
Layout by Marie Sabatier

Today I'm excited to share my first layout for July!
For this project, I chose an adorable photo of my granddaughter dressed as a little unicorn. I immediately fell in love with the soft colours and whimsical woodland feel of the paper collection, making it the perfect backdrop for this sweet memory. To enhance the magical atmosphere, I selected several Chipboard pieces that blend naturally into the scene while adding texture and dimension.

"Just too Cute"

The Chipboard used:

Before I started decorating my layout, I applied a light coat of white gesso to the chipboards I wanted to lighten. Once dry, I used Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to enhance the details and create a subtle aged effect while preserving the natural texture of the chipboard. The wreath was simply inked around the edges to maintain its beautiful raw wood finish.
The Branches Frames Set became the focal point of my layout, beautifully framing my photo while adding depth and interest. I chose to keep the natural wood finish with just a touch of Vintage Photo around the edges so it would blend perfectly with the woodland background.

For the Daisy Flower Stem, I applied a coat of white gesso to the petals to brighten them and make them stand out from the background. I then added a little Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to the flower centre and a few details to give it extra depth. It coordinates beautifully with the floral elements printed on the paper.
The Industrial Light Bulbs add a unique decorative touch to the upper left corner of the page. I simply highlighted the details with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, keeping their natural wood appearance while adding a little more definition.

To finish my layout, I added the Just Too Cute title. After applying a light coat of white gesso, I used Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to enhance the details and create a soft weathered wood effect that coordinates perfectly with the other chipboard elements on the page.

I hope this layout inspires you to keep the natural beauty of chipboard while enhancing it with a little gesso and ink to add texture and dimension.

Happy crafting!

Marie

with Amy Voorthuis

Hello and goodmorning lovely 2Crafty friends,
How wonderful of you all to stop by the 2Crafty blog, this is my first layout for the month of April. We are getting more and more warmer weather and how I love that. For today I have another layout to share with you and this was such a great one to make I especially love that cheeky picture of Abbey. For this layout I used a 2016 paper collection by BoBunny called "Secret Garden" and a bunch of wonderful 2Crafty Chipboard pieces.

It was a while back that I used rust paste on my work so that is what I did on thie layout. It gives your chipboard that extra vintage feeling you will probably see more of that from me soon.

After I applied the rust paste I also added some waxes on the other pieces I added some acrylic paints in different colors and on some of the chippies I used my alcohol/aqua pens like the green on the 12x12 Braches Frame Set which is a absolute new favorite of mine.

Hope you all enjoyed my post thank you so much for stopping by, I will be back with another project soon hope to see you back then....
