Tam's back again.....includes a VIDEO!!

Hi everyone
Tam here today to share some more 2Crafty goodness with you all.
This one's titled...

"Magical"

A page telling the story of a recent fancy dress party.
I love the bright bold colours against the black.
Yep, surprise surprise, this page has bold colour!!
I guess it's my signature style, but the photo and theme really called for it.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard on this page:
"Grid Bits"
"Fine Word Set 2"
"Lina's Swirl"
"Element Set 1"
"Starbright Snowflakes"

I began by painting all of the chipboard, except for the title in a few coats of white gesso.

I applied white acrylic paint to the "Grid Bits" and the "Lina's Swirl".

I knew these would pop against the black background and bold colours.

I tucked "Lina's Swirl" underneath my photo, and the "Grid Bits" underneath all the layers.

To the "Starbright Snowflake", I added a variety of Dylusions Ink Sprays.
Instead of spritzing them on, I applied them direct with a paintbrush.
This gives a more concentrated colour.
I layered the colours as I really wanted to create an ombre look that complemented
the background. I used the colours "Fresh Lime" and "Polished Jade".

I also used this technique on the "Elements Set 1"
I really love the Moroccan feel of both the shape and the effect I
achieved on the chipboard. It really helps to 'tell the story'.

I tucked both of these pieces amongst the layers.

Finally I added black gesso to the "Magical" Word from the "Fine Set 2".
I laid these down the side of my photo.

I have created a video of the layout so you can see it all come together.
You can see EXACTLY how I created the background, and how I created the
ombre finish on the pieces of chipboard.
Hope you enjoy it!!

September Inspiration - Two Layouts
PLUS TWO VIDEO TUTORIALS
By Mary Catt

''Precious Moments''

Hello 2Crafty fans!
Mary here with you today to share two layouts and two video tutorials.

The first one is a romantic vintage layout designed on a dark gray paper from the
''Salvage District'' Prima collection & filled with lots of flowers.

I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL with the procedure.

I based this layout on the September challenges over at Prima Marketing PPP
and at More Than Words challenge blog.

I used the following 2crafty chipboards...
Marianne's Butterflies
 Lina's Swirl
Flourish Adornment Set 4
Precious - Loopy Font

I highlighted my dark background paper with some white gesso and then I used ''Tea Pot Purple''
and ''Open Arms Amethyst'' Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to add some color to it.

I painted the flourish chipboards with ''Rich Turquoise''
and the Lina's Swirl with the ''Dark Velvet'' Finnabair acrylic paints.

The title and the little butterfy chipboards were heat embossed
with ''Gilded Burgundy Brass'' Lindy's embossing powder.

I also used a small curved leftover chipboard from the ''Circle Revolution Frames''.

''Imagine''

And this is my second layout... a monochromatic mystery and imaginary one this time...

Here you can see how I made it...

2crafty chipboards used on this layout...
ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars
Angel Wings
6" Clock Face Frames
ATC Words 1

I based it on three challenges...
Prima BAP, Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo and Studio75

I used the ''Flirty'' paper from ''Homegrown'' 7dots Studio collection. I applied Graphite texture paste with a stencil and colored my background with the ''Brushed Nickel'' and ''Midnight Rendezvous Raven'' Lindy's Stamp Gang mists. I also made some splatters with 13arts Silver Splash ink.

I heat embossed the ''Angel Wings'' chipboard, which I cut in half, with ''Queen Sheba's Silver'' and then I sprinkled some Finnabair Art Sugar in ''White'' to make them sparkle. The title and the little stars chippies were treated the same way with the wings chipboards.

The clock frame was also heat embossed with ''Midnight Pewter'' Lindy's embossing powder.

The flowers and the embellishments are Prima and the metal tag is from Tim Holtz philosophy tags.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

See you here again next month...
