'Escape'
byTammy Klingner

Tam back again today to share some more chipboard goodness!
This one's titled:

'Escape'

A page that documents my passion for reading.
In 2018, I began a book club, on the spur of the moment with a friend, and it was an unexpected highlight for the year.
I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:
'Hedgehogs'
'Mini Trees'
'Bookworm'
'Tree with Sparrows'
'Mushrooms'
'Mini Travel Word Set 2'
This layout was created for CSI:Colour Stories Inspiration.
2Crafty Chipboard are sponsors this month.
Have you ever had a go at their challenges? They are lots of fun.
Here's the one I solved:
You can head to their blog to see the clues in detail.
Here's the clues I used:
The colours, stripes, distressed patterns, trees (chipboard, painted, pine), leaves, woodland creatures (hedgehog), bird, mushroom, string, splatters, metal (open book), wood (woodgrain paper, chipboard), journaling inside a handmade book (so cute!!!!)

Let's take a look at the chipboard.
For the 'escape' title from the 'Travel Mini Word Set 2' I applied black ink.
The 'mushroom' was first coated in white gesso, and then painted with watercolour paint.
I outlined the details with a black pen.
The 'hedgehog' was coated in a metallic wax and then I used sharpie pens to fill in the details.
The 'bird' from the 'Tree with Sparrows' was finished with the same process - some white gesso, watercolour paint and then pens to fill in the detail.
I had so much fun colouring in these chippy elements.
The 'Mini Tree' was coated with Metallic Wax, and then some green ink was added to the leaves.
The 'book stacks' were trimmed away from the worm in the 'bookworm' chipboard.
These were then coated with white gesso, and then various watercolour paints.
A touch of ink was swiped over them to pick up the finer detail.
I really enjoyed colouring these pieces of chipboard.
It's not my normal style to do this, but it was quite relaxing and I'm super happy with the outcome.
When is the last time you tried something new?
I do love that about challenges, they push me out of my comfort zone, and often inspire an extra surge of creativity!!
That's it from me today, I'll see you a bit later in the month.

July Layouts By Debbi Tehrani

"Sweet Smile"

I made this page for the More Than Words challenge, which asked us to use the
word "smile" as inspiration as well as a sketch. This adorable photo features my best
friend's daughter and her little girl, and they sure do have some sweet smiles!

The word "smile" came from the "Summertime" set, which has lots of different words. I colored it with two different teal stamp inks to get the right color to match the leaves in my floral paper and then coated it with clear embossing power to give it a glossy look. I couldn't resist using this cute little guy from the "Hedgehogs" pack on my page. I couldn't decide on a color for the hedgehog,
so I decided to leave him raw, but I added clear embossing powder to give him extra interest. The arrow, gessoed white, came from the "Assorted Arrows" sheet. I topped it with a wee heart from "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" and inked it pink.

I coated the "Bubble Clumps" with gesso and then painted it with Twinkling H2O's in the
Icicle color, which has flecks of glitter in it. I added patterned paper onto my frame form the "Polaroid Assortment Frames" to give it a woodgrain look. I popped a couple of raw, clear embossed hearts from the "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars" to match my hedgehog onto the frame.

I just love 2Crafty's Circle Words, and I used the word "sweet" from "Word Circles Set 1" as part
of my title. I used the Icicle Twinkling H2O's on the circle part and the same ink and clear embossing powder I used for the "Smile." I added a heart from "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars."

"You Are Simply the Best"

A girl at my school won a safety patrol award and her teacher asked me to make
 a scrapbook page for her.

The trophy came from the "Motocross" 6 x 6 set and was perfect for holding part of my title
(the word "you" came from "Card Word Set 2") and also conveying what the layout was about.
I used gold Zing embossing powder to give it sparkle and shine. I embossed the
"Simply the Best" title with two different colors.

The "Chevron Bits" were embossed with the same Sapphire PEARLustre embossing powder
I used on the title. I used the same gold Zing embossing powder on the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" as I did on the title. I found a larger star from the "Stars" set to tuck into the "Medium Filmstrip." The "Inspire" word came from the "ATC Words 1" set. I painted a "Circle Revolution" white to frame the photo the main photo.

Once you take the frames out of the sheet of "Polaroid Assortment Frames," you will have leftover chipboard that, when cut, form more frames. I used that to frame the above photo, I painted that white. There's a bag behind this cluster that holds more photos from the event. Finally, I used a date from the "2016's."

Inspiration With Athanasia

You+Me=Big Love

Hello 2Crafty friends!
In a couple of days we will be celebrating Valentine's Day, so I wanted to make
something with a LOVE mood :)

Before we start...
Please remember while you are here  to become a blog follower & leave a blog comment to
be eligible to go in our monthly draw for a great chippie prize pack.

This layout represents a big love, indestructible in time.
First thing I do to start building a layout is to place the photo and the basic elements,
and these are the chipboard pieces.
Here is how my page looked before adding more embellishments and painting...

I used three Polaroid Assortment Frames which I absolutely adore! They look so
beautiful in the clusters and they come in different sizes, how cool is that?.
All chipboard pieces were the inspiration for this layout, even the small Asst Arrow.
I love how it stands there and points to the main composition.

To paint all the chipboard pieces I used silks and H2Os Twinkling watercolors.
It is really a quick process to paint all these before gluing them down -
the chipboard sucks the color and they dry in no time!

For the cluster in the picture bellow I used four different chipboard pieces,
Two Polaroid Assortment Frames, the word Precious and a small Hedgehog
  (how cute is that??? )
I love how they look one above the other!

'Trust'

This journal page turned to be one of my favorites in my journal
because of this amazing Aidan's Arrow.
As I was looking in my stash I saw it and that was it!
It was like a vision with this arrow standing on some big circles,
don't ask why and how ...

I created this page immediately after the layout -yeap, that was a really creative day for me :)
I used the same color shades I used on the layout above, as well one more
Polaroid Assortment Frame. These frames are so cute that I just can't
have enough! In order to alter the chipboard pieces I used  warm grey Silk and
primary elements to create more texture on them.
 I

The ATC Tiny Heart is like the icing on the cake: cute and delicious!
I love how it looks on my beloved arrow :)
I painted it with H2Os watercolors purple and spiced pumpkin.
