'Treasure' Mixed Media Layout & Video with Kripa Koushik

Hello friends,

My first project share for this month is a scrapbook layout, scroll down for a Video tutorial.

There are so many beautiful 2crafty chipboard pieces in the recent release, I was so tempted to use a handful to make this layout. Inspired by the autumn moodboards popping up in my instafeed this month, I chose to make a layout using Autumn leaves & Ivy clusters 2crafty chipboard pieces.

I love using photographs of my family & friends in my layouts and this page is no exception. The colour palette is centred around the colours in the photograph. Instead of using lace, I chose the Mandala No.2 chipboard in both 4 & 6 inches. I love how the background can be seen through the delicate chipboard. To ground the layers & cut through the pattern, Ive used a solid chipboard Formal Flourish in both the top & bottom clusters.

Here is a video tutorial of the layout.

Thank you for visiting today.
I hope you enjoyed the video tutorial.

Creative hugs,
Kripa

Softness for the Month of May
By Jennifer Snyder

Hello.
Jennifer Snyder here today to share some of the pieces I created through the month.
I have a layout and a card.  I'll start with the layout first.

BUT before I start...

I created this using the May Flying Unicorns kit, which featured Prima papers.

I added the following chipboard pieces from
2Crafty :  "Formal Flourish 1", "Cheryl's Floral Frame Set",  "Chicken Wire - Medium".

I painted all the chipboard pieces with cream colored acrylic paint.  Next,
I coated the  "Formal Flourish 1" and  "Cheryl's Floral Frame Set" with
Vintage Ivory embossing powder.  This has tiny flecks of gold in it for a
cool effect and bits of vintage elegance.

The  "Chicken Wire" chipboard was left just painted.

You can see in these images that the chipboard just blends nicely.

Next, I'd like to show you a baby card I created using  some adorable
2Crafty chipboard pieces as my focal points.

The 2Crafty chipboard pieces used here are:
2Crafty Chipboard - " Mini Rulers"  and  "Teddy Bears".

The  "Teddy Bears" are the sweetest chipboard bears I have ever seen -
complete with delicate details that are perfect for my baby card.

I created a wash by adding a little water to some gesso and painting it lightly
on both chipboard pieces.  The details are too adorable to cover up with paint
or chunky treatments. I also think the clean and fresh feel of the white wash
works well with the baby themed card.

Thanks for stopping by and following the creativity here at 2Crafty.

Christmas Cards and Christmas Gifts
By Jennifer Snyder

Hello everyone.  Jennifer Snyder here today to showcase my December pieces.
I am showing a combination of Christmas pieces and Christmas gifts
( shhhhhh tell no one!  The kitty layout is a surprise for my sister who
adores her beautiful Maine Coon kitty.)

I took the photo of my sister's kitty in May on a visit to her house.
I picked the chipboard word "Cherish" for a few reasons.  The first
reason is that my sister lives 8 hours away and I do not get to see her often
 - nor do I get to visit her wonderful home.  My special treat was to drive my
parents to her house for a visit in May.  Oh my, I won't discuss the r
and a time to cherish always.

Second reason, my sister does indeed cherish her kitty like a beloved
family member.  Who doesn't , right?  We love our furry family.  The 2Crafty
title is perfect, or maybe I should say it's "purrrrrfect".

" Fluer Arrows"                    "Cherish Loopy Font"                   "Formal Flourish 1"

I really needed the chipboard to pop on this piece amidst the confusion. I painted all my chipboard pieces simple white.  I used the "Formal Flourish 1" chipboard design as a border for my kitty to rest upon.

I made this layout using the December kit from Flying Unicorns
It features Riddersholm papers this month and I found the colors
to be a great match for my photo of Kitty.

Here I added a gem to the " Fluer Arrows".

An overview of the focal point of the layout....

And once again, I used the "Formal Flourish 1" chipboard design as a
border for my kitty to rest upon.

Christmas Cards using 2Crafty

I made two quick Christmas cards.  The wonderful 2Crafty chipboard
creations make it super simple to pop a card together for the holidays.
Not a lot needed to make a card that will dazzle and wow your friends and family.

My first card used the "Holly Tree" chipboard piece.  I painted this gold,
then added fine embossing powder to give some sheen and sparkle.

Look how pretty the "Holly Tree" chipboard piece is.

This is my second Christmas card.  It's created using the darling 2 Crafty chipboard - "Blitzen"  which is a statement piece all it's own.  All I did to this
chipboard piece was ink it with a rich brown ink.  Simple.

2 Crafty chipboard - "Blitzen"
Look, Christmas cards do not need to be elaborate. Do not over think the
process but instead, let 2Crafty chipboard help do the work for you so you still
have time to shop and bake and finish all your holiday preparations.

Thanks for stopping by the 2Crafty blog. Stop by everyday to be dazzled by the techniques
and amazed by the styles of the entire team.
