Girly Layouts by Nicole Doiron

Hello everyone!

Nicole here, and I think it's time to celebrate the girly girl in all of us today!

 Sweet Dreams

I made this very soft and sweet canvas for my friend Nathalie who is
expecting a baby girl in November and whose baby shower I attended last month.

This canvas was part of my gift to her and baby, created to match with baby's nursery.

I added a picture of my niece Ella when she was born to be able to give you a better
idea of what it would look like once Nat puts a photo of her baby girl.

Of course, I used a lot of 2Crafty Chipboard on my canvas,
starting with the lovely "Sweet Dreams" title.

In the close-up image below, you can also see the largest of the "Circle Revolution Frames"
and some stars from the "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars".

All the chipboard pieces were painted in the same manner using the same products,
mostly white acrylic paint, distress stains (pink or brown), and champagne pearl paint.

On my tag, I added a tiny heart, also from the "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars"
and I bordered the picture with a piece of the "Adornment Set 2".

Of course, none of my more girly projects for 2Crafty would be complete without
lots of flowers.  Most of the flowers are from Petaloo.
I added a piece from the "Leafy Shrub Set 1" to one flower cluster...

Also a piece from "Leafy Shrub Set 2" to the other flower cluster.

This is my favourite of all the Leafy Shrubs offered by 2Crafty
Check them all out on the website HERE.

I included a dragonfly metal charm
which was part of a keychain that I don't use anymore.
It matched the colours of the canvas so much, I thought it would be a perfect addition.

And last, but not least, I cut up a leftover piece of the "Doily Border"
to add in the left hand corner with a button and some twine.

Papers used are a combination of Authentique and My Mind's Eye.

Of course, all girly girls adore princesses...
and that's what my 2nd layout is all about.

Invisible Crown

At first, I wasn't too sure about this one.
I had such lovely and distinct 2Crafty chippies to work with
and I wanted them to emphasize them the best way possible.

I also wanted to capture the essence of the princess because of the pictures,
Ella posing with some of her favorite Disney Princesses.

I used several large chipboard pieces, including the "Ornate" border,
the "Iron Fence" and the "Iron Gate"
as well as the "Always wear your Invisible Crown" title.

You see here the "Iron Gate" which I covered with pewter Perfect Pearls.

Pink, blue and sparkly white flowers for Princess Ella...
And her very own shiny crown!

The "Bridal Carriage" was perfect for this royal theme.

I used some paints, stains, perfect pearls to colour it
and adorned it with lots of jewels.

Baby girls, princesses, and now fairies!

 Magic Happens

My 3rd and final share this month is this 'magical' layout
inspired by the September Mood Board on the Scrap Around the World blog.

This picture is of the very pretty Celeste (our friends' daughter) who's looking for...
well, a fairy friend, I imagine. :)

I cut off the wings of a  "Delicate Butterfly" and gave them to this beautiful fairy.
To go with the quote, I used the "Magic Happens" title
and added a vintage keyhole from the "Keyholes and Locks".

This very intricately designed piece which I covered
with various shades of distress stains is called "Ornate Screen ".

I did the same to the Sammi's Swirl which I cut in 2 and tucked
behind some beautiful flowers, above my picture...

and below.

I added some more swirls by using a piece of the elegant "Corner Helena's" set.
Inspired by the grunge heart of the Mood Board, I added some "Chain Lengths"
and gave them a rusty look by adding gesso and layers of red, orange, pink and brown inks.
Mixing grunge with shabby chic, I suspended some cute mini butterflies
from the "Catching Butterflies Pack" at the end of the chains.

I also added lots of pearl accents.

Hopefully you have all enjoyed looking at my layouts this month,
as much as I've enjoyed creating them.
