Hello everyone,
I’m so happy to be back today sharing my first layout for the month of May, a soft and whimsical page featuring a photo of my granddaughter. I chose to work with the beautiful "The Looking Glass" collection, whose gentle tones and delicate illustrations were perfect for the atmosphere I wanted to create.
"Sweet Moment"
I created my design around the photo using the beautiful "Doily Frames" chipboard piece, which softly frames the photo while adding detail and texture to the page. I then layered several elements from the collection to build a charming little scene full of softness and magic.
In the upper left corner, I used the "Boho Hanger" chipboard piece. To customize it, I applied the 49 and Market inks Fossil, Rainforest, and Green Jeans, layering them softly to create depth and beautiful color variation. I intentionally did not apply gesso first so I could preserve all the delicate details of the chipboard. A light mist of water then helped blend the shades together for a more natural finish.
The "Sweet Moment" title finishes the page beautifully and perfectly highlights the tenderness of this photo. I colored it with Lavender Kisses ink, whose soft shade coordinated perfectly with the gentle mood of the layout. It is layered over a Doily chipboard piece in the background, adding depth and softly framing the design. A few subtle splatters complete the composition with a light finishing touch.
