"today..."
Layout by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing my second layout for April, featuring an adorable photo of my grandson Milan.
I chose to stay with the same soft and fresh color palette as my previous page, using warm yellows and gentle greens that beautifully reflect the spirit of spring. These tones create a light and joyful atmosphere, perfectly highlighting this sweet and precious moment.

"today...."

The chipboard used:

To start, I prepared all my chipboard pieces with a coat of white gesso. I then applied soft layers of Distress Oxide inks, blending the colors to match the overall palette of the layout and create a natural, slightly vintage look.
I used the “Hexagon Outline Frames Set” to build the structure of my composition, arranging the frames in a flowing design across the page to naturally guide the eye toward the photo. To embellish them, I applied Distress Oxide inks in Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo, then lightly added Black Soot along the edges to create depth. I finished by lightly spraying water to create subtle oxidized spots, adding texture while keeping the overall look soft and delicate.

For the floral cluster, I used the “Foliage Set 14” chipboard to add height and softness to the composition. I colored the foliage using 49 and Market inks in Pineapple and Green Jeans, bringing fresh and vibrant tones that enhance the spring feeling of the layout.
I also incorporated elements from the “Bees with Hive” chipboard set to reinforce the theme. I colored them with Distress Oxide Antique Linen, then gently added Vintage Photo along the edges to create depth and a slightly aged effect. These details add both texture and visual interest while keeping the overall design light and harmonious.

To finish my layout, I added the “today” title, which I colored using Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen and Vintage Photo, with a few soft touches of Pineapple to bring a subtle warmth. I kept the tones soft and neutral, gently adding more depth along the edges to create a delicate dimensional effect.
I completed the page with a few small embellishments, including honeycomb details and bees, to reinforce the theme. Finally, I added light splatters to bring texture and unify the composition, while keeping the overall look soft and balanced.

All these chipboard designs are available on the 2Crafty website.
I hope this layout has inspired you, and I look forward to seeing you next time!
