loving THESE MOMENTS
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone. So happy you dropped in today.

I'm really enjoying this beautiful Spring weather here in Colorado. My favorite time of year is when I finally start to warm up!! We always replant our garden every Spring, so I created this layout to remind me of the garden we will soon have. Can't wait!

2Crafty Chippies I used are:

6" Circle Revolution Frames

Molly's Butterfly 'set

loving THESE MOMENTS

I used both Black and White Gesso on these pieces. I like using Black Gesso when I want a piece to be  black instead of using Black Paint. It's just easier with the same results, and it covers great.

So, speaking of using both Gesso's, here is an example. On the 6" Circle Revolution Frame, I first coated it with Black Gesso, then spattered over it with White Gesso. I wanted to try to copy the large circle on the left that is printed on the patterned paper. Not perfect, but I got close.

I added one of the butterflies from the Molly's Butterfly Set inside the Revolution Frame. The set comes with the butterflies, like you see here, and solid pieces to back them. I chose to only use the butterflies on this layout.

Here on the left is another butterfly from the Molly's Butterfly Set. All of the butterflies were first painted with White Gesso, then painted with Glacier Chalk Paint.

I love the title, loving THESE MOMENTS. I really like how it's offset. I think having it this way adds so much interest, not to mention versatility. I simple painted it with Sheepskin Chalk Paint after first coating it with White Gesso.

I placed one more 6" Circle Revolution Frame piece here at the bottom to balance out the circles. Then added in one more of the Molly's Butterflies, again for balance and to mimic the circle up top.

And that's it. My ode to Springtime warmth and flowers. Hope you like it!

I'll be back later in the month to share more from 2Crafty.
