Hi everyone, welcome to the blog.
Today I am sharing a layout about a girl's best friend. Of course, it's a dog! I work for my
daughter's Animal Rescue, so dogs are my heart. All of them deserving love and family.
This is also my first Fall layout as the seasons are changing. Fall is my favorite.
I love the changing colors and the crispness of the air.
"Togetherness my favourite Time"
2Crafty loveliness I used:
12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frame
11" Round Flourish Frame
Beaded Hanging Heart Set
Foliage Set 11
Togetherness is my favourite Time
Gesso those lovely chippies ladies!!
Ok, let's get started at the top. I used the 11" Round Flourish Frame to frame the actual clock on the layout. I painted it with Raw Umber Acrylic Paint. I cut off the edge of the frame, placing the cut edge on the right to off center the clock. I think it adds little interest this way, also making it so I could center the photos.
I added leaves from the Foliage Set 11 under the photo here to enhance the Fall theme. I painted them with alternating coats of Cavern from the Woodlands Watercolor Set, and Gold from the Shimmering Lights Watercolor Set, both from Prima. I love the look you can get from using watercolors on the chipboard. So easy to do, just paint, dry with heat tool, paint some more, dry again. If you need to change it, just brush on a little water, wipe and start over.
I placed one of the clocks from the 12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frames inside the Flourish Frame. I painted it using Raw Sienna Acrylic Paint with a little Distress Grit Paste mixed in. This gave it a rough, antique like texture.
I didn't have any dials to use for the clock, so I improvised. I cut the hearts off two pieces from the Beaded Hanging Hearts Set, and ta da... dials. Gotta do what ya gotta do to make do!! These were painted the same as the clock.
I added more leaves from the Foliage Set 11 at the bottom next to the photo to give balance to the florals.
This title is perfect for these photos! Like I said, working with an Animal Rescue captures your heart. Being with them is absolutely one of my favorite things to do. So this title, Togetherness is my favourite Time says it all!
I painted it with the same watercolors that I used on the 12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frame, only without the Grit Paste mixed in. I wanted the same color, but with the title being so intricate, the grit paste would have clumped it up where you couldn't see the separation of the letters. Some of the titles from 2Crafty are so delicate that you have to tread lightly!
So I hope you like this layout and start with your own Fall layouts, if it happened to be Fall
on your side of the globe. If not then Spring it is!!
