"Today is Perfect"
As soon as I thought of scrapping this photo of my husband's family in front of this
unusual statue, the "Triangle Set" came to mind. These pieces are not only perfect
for pointing toward the subject of a photograph but are also perfect for modern, graphic themes.
"Today Is Perfect" title was just the right title piece for this page. My husband's sister
and brother-in-law had traveled from Iran to spend time with their girls, so all of their
outings were indeed perfect days. I coated the title with gesso and then used various
inks to try to match the purple paper. Then I coated it with clear embossing powder.
I topped the triangles from "Triangle Set" with patterned papers and mounted some onto my page with foam adhesive. The stars from "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars" were embossed with Zing silver embossing powder.
I used yellow embossing powder on the date form the "2015's." This is such a handy product
to buy, and you get a dozen of the dates in various fonts on a sheet. The "Assorted Arrows"
are also a great, versatile set to buy--you get 30 arrows in an assortment of styles on a sheet.
They are perfect for adding a little something extra to your layout and for directing the eye
to an important element on the page. I used the same purple inks and embossing powder
on the one arrow as I did on the title and colored the other one black with stamp ink.

"First Snow"
My niece-in-law and her husband (who are pictured in the layout above) posted this
adorable photo of a snowman they made after their first snow in their new home this year.
I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches for my page composition.
I used "Alpha Set 1" to spell out the word Snow and coated it with a sparkly black embossing powder by Wow. The tiny bookplate in from the "Corners and Name Plates" set was perfect
to add the word first. I embossed that with red glitter Zing powder to give it sparkle. An itty-bitty heart from "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars," also embossed with red glitter was added to the S in the title. I painted the date from the "2015's" set white and then added Icicle Stickles.
The chipboard corner was also in the "Corners an Name Plates" set. The snowflakes came
from the "Mini Weather Icons" set and were painted with white acrylic paint and then
coated with Icicle Stickles.
The word delight came from the "Mini Word Set 2" and was treated with the same red glitter embossing powder. I decided to leave the lovely border from "Mixed Border Strips"
raw and add some rhinestones for subtle contrast.

"Gadget Guy"
I have one more layout I wanted to share.
I made this page for my DT work at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.
This page tells the story of how my husband is enamored with technology and how
every time I turn around, he's bringing home another gadget.
The "6-inch Clock Frames" and the cogs and gears from the "Gears" and "Giant Gears" set were begging
to be used for this Case File. I colored the clock with dark brown stamp ink and coated the cogs and gears
with platinum and pearl silver embossing powder.
Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope I've given you some ideas
for using these awesome chipboard pieces!
