September Shares with Fiona

Hello 2 Crafty Chipboard lovelies! Fiona here with you today with two layouts I've created using the awesome 2Crafty Chipboard! My first creation doesn't really have a title so I named it after the gorgeous "Hibiscus Frame" I used on it.

2 Crafty pieces used:

"Hibiscus Frame"
"Delicate Butterflies"
"Wildflower set"

I have loved this "Hibiscus Frame" ever since I first saw it and I've been waiting for the perfect time to use it. The other night I had a vision of a water color flower surrounded by a circle of flowers and it suddenly came to me!

I trimmed some of the extra flourishes and foliage from it. Only because they wouldn't fit on the page due to where I had chosen to create my water colour flower.

I was determined I was going to leave the frame in it's raw chipboard state but after I added some Perfect Pearls mist I realised it needed to be greyish blue, so I gave it a coat of grey water colour paint. I'm so glad I did because it made the details in the hibiscus flowers just POP!

I added some extra foliage using a piece from the "Wildflower Set". I wanted to replace the bits I had trimmed but I couldn't get them to sit where I wanted so this was the next best thing to add that extra bit of trim. I simply painted them white and added flecks of grey paint.

Finally I added a gorgeous little "Delicate Butterfly". This comes in a set of two. I used the smaller one in the set. I painted it white, gave it a coating of clear ink and sprinkled some Patina Metallic Melts over the wings. Once it was dry, I added some coordinating water colours and a touch of white gesso to give it highlighted areas.

"Your Happy Place"

2 Crafty Chipboard pieces used:

"Alpha Set 1"
"My Happy Place Title"
"Electronic Gadgets"
"Happy Loopy Font"

My son and his girlfriend are the best of mates and as best mates do ..... they play video games for fun! In fact my whole family play video games. My hubby is an avid online gamer, my son joins him regularly, his girlfriend is an awesome gamer and loves to "kick his butt", My daughter studied game design and her boyfriend is a gamer extraordinaire. Me, I'm useless at it! But what ever floats your boat I say!

So I wanted to show how much this meant to these two and recognise that this really is their Happy Place. I trimmed the "My Happy Place Title" to just use the word "place", I can use the other bits on another layout later on down the track. I coloured the trimmed word to coordinate with the photo in orange and yellow. The "Happy Loopy Font" word I inked up with black and then sprayed with gold glitter spray.

I added the word "your" instead of using the word "my" from the title piece by combining the correct letters from the "Alpha Set 1". I find these alphas just the right size for titles and random words. Again I painted it up to reflect the colours of my photo.

Lastly I added this really cool XBOX controller from the "Electronic Gadgets" set. I inked it up with black, highlighted the buttons then gave the whole pieces a coating of fine clear embossing powder to give it some shine. It came up a treat! My hubby was very impressed!

Well that's me for another month. Some how I've managed to sneak in another nerdy layout LOL. I hope you are enjoying your creating time and adding lots of yummy 2 Crafty chippy to your work.

Wow your 'hibiscus' layout is just beautiful and your page with the game controller is Amazing! I laughed when I saw it because I have a 12 year old son who can disappear for hours playing games.
