Inspiration and Happy Father's Day with Trudi

"A Moment To Treasure"

  Hi Everyone, Trudi with you today and I would like to send a shout out to all the special men in our lives  - Happy Fathers Day!  It seemed appropriate on this happy Sunday to share a little Daddy and his girls special love.  This precious moment was captured last school holiday whilst holidaying in Hall's Gap.  We had just trekked all the way to see the magnificent MacKenzie Falls.  To keep with the outdoor elements, the toning's have been kept earthy and natural.  Lots  of 2Crafty Chipboard loveliness was added to frame the photo and to add  embellishment and sentiment.     The Esther Vine was first coloured with Moss Lawn chalk ink. A touch of sparkle was added with Citron Color Shine which was spritzed over the top. A light dabbing of metallic  gold paint was then applied. The smaller tendril from the Esther Vine was separated.  This smaller piece has been tucked into the top of the floral cluster.    Thistle Shrub was also cut up into pieces, dabbed with metallic gold and tucked in and  around the Esther Vine.       The Formal Flourishes are beautifully elegant - these were coloured with Brick Wall chalk ink  with a light application of of metallic gold paint dabbed over the top. These add a decorative  touch to the photo corners and create a lovely framed effect.     Hearts and Keys go 'together - The Vintage Key was also inked with Brick Wall and  dabbed with gold whilst the Chained Heart frame was painted gold. The words were also painted gold.  2Crafty Chipboard used:

For my next project, I have created a card "Because of You"

  Thank You to my Dad  Because of You, I believe nothing is impossible       I removed a few small segments from the Fencing Wire and tucked these into the background.  These were lightly dabbed with walnut distress stain.     A Vintage Oval Frame was dabbed with metallic gold paint with distress stain then  dabbed over the top.  Maggie's Swirl was positioned over the top with a few smaller  rose blooms attached.     An Evie Corner was tucked in underneath with the decorative edge peeking out.      2Crafty Chipboard used:

  Maggie's Swirl Frame Vintage Oval Chicken Barbed Wire Small Corner Evie       I would also like to share a project created recently for the Kraft Plus  September Challenge.  "It's The Little Things"

  I wanted to create a worn, shabby, 'exposed to the elements' kind of effect to the Lighthouse. I first added a coat of white gesso and allowed to dry. Texture and detail was then added with a brick stencil and texture paste. Diamond dust was then sprinkled over the top whilst the paste was still wet. Some of the areas were then lightly dabbed with walnut  distress stain. A little was then lightly spritzed over the distress stain which allowed the stain to run and pool in areas. Hold the piece vertical and try moving it around from side to side whilst holding it in your hands - this creates lovely runs.  When dry, spritz randomly and lightly with Turquoise mist.  Then apply white gesso with a bristle brush soften the added colour. Don't be concerned if some of the previously applied diamond dust mixes in with the paint - this just adds to the overall textural effect.  

A Chained Circle Frame and it's negative were added to frame the photo. Bubble Clumps add detail and the Anchor adds the perfect nautical touch. These were painted white. I did only apply a single coat of white gesso as I wanted a soft washed look with the paint soaking into the bare chipboard a little.

 Plain triangles were covered with coordinating patterned paper. I also trimmed around the skeleton frame left behind after the triangle was removed from the chipboard sheeting to create a lovely negative effect.
